Chapter 22: Tagore Desert

"Tagore Desert, finally arrived."

Wei Yang hovered in the void, a pair of black wings gently flapping behind him.

With his current one-star Dou Ling strength, Wei Yang could maintain balanced energy expenditure while using his wings for flight. Due to the advanced Xuan class flight battle skill and the material of the wings, his speed and agility surpassed the average Dou Qi transformation wings of a Dou Wang.

Even so, it took Wei Yang an entire seven days of flying to finally reach the great desert at the eastern border of the empire.

From his arms, a cute little head popped out, curiously glancing at the vast sea of sand outside. A hot wind blew, making the little head quickly retract.

Seeing this, Wei Yang smiled, a layer of red Dou Qi shield covering to protect the little beauty in his arms.

After entering the desert, the surrounding temperature noticeably increased.

The sun in the desert was particularly scorching, hanging high and blazing, causing the midday temperature in the desert to soar.

Yet, at this moment, Wei Yang felt quite comfortable, a sense of relaxation throughout his body and mind, and the Dou Qi inside him was more active than usual, able to draw in the natural energy around him far beyond what he could normally.

Feeling it carefully, he couldn't help but laugh, "Here, the fire attribute energy and earth attribute energy make up more than eighty percent. If I fight someone here, my combat power would increase by thirty percent!"

"If I lived here, my cultivation speed would likely increase a bit as well."

With a gentle flap of the wings, Wei Yang flew in the sky, gazing at the nearly identical scenery stretching in all directions. He felt a bit helpless.

He suddenly realized he seemed to have gotten lost.

Well, not exactly lost; he could still distinguish the direction.

He just didn't know where Rock Desert City was.

"Let's see if there's anyone around."

Shaking his head, Wei Yang moved his wings, turning into a black and red streak of light, advancing rapidly.

"Hmm?"

Soon, he vaguely sensed a faint trace of battle fluctuations coming through.

Looking in a direction, he focused his gaze, "Over there."

With a shake of his wings, he changed direction and flew quickly toward the direction from which the battle fluctuations were coming.

As the distance shortened, he could see a group of mercenaries engaging in battle with a group of serpent people a few miles ahead.

In the midst of combat, various colors of Dou Qi energy clashed, stirring up a cloud of sand and dust.

"Serpent people?"

Soon, Wei Yang arrived in the air above the battle, looking down.

The little girl in his arms also poked her head out, looking down curiously.

Below in the desert, about a dozen mercenaries holding weapons were battling a group of around twenty serpent people, or rather, they were surrounded by serpent people.

These serpent people had human-like upper bodies but their lower halves were serpentine tails, with scales of various colors.

"Hiss hiss~"

The tails swung, making sounds, typical of the serpent people unique to the Tagore Desert.

"This is the serpent people?"

Glancing over these twenty or so serpent people, the men had fierce expressions, with a chill glint in their pupils, while the women had seductive figures, their curves alluring and charming.

Wei Yang couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, feeling a bit eye-opened. This was the first time he had seen serpent people, and his gaze lingered a bit longer on the prominent figures of a few female serpent people.

"Hiss~"

At this moment, a small hand pinched the soft flesh on his waist, giving it a twist, making Wei Yang gasp in pain and quickly avert his gaze.

"Hmph," a light yet dissatisfied hum came from his arms.

"I'm just curious, taking a look," Wei Yang quickly defended.

His gaze swept over the mercenaries, totaling fifteen, ten males and five females.

The attire and demeanor of these mercenaries were quite different from those within the empire.

Most of the male mercenaries were shirtless, with two even bare-chested, showing off their dark or bronze skin, and muscular physiques, exuding a powerful sense of strength.

The first impression was one of ruggedness and boldness.

The five females had healthy wheat-colored skin and agile postures.

These desert-dwelling women, unlike the more reserved women of the empire's interior, appeared quite bold.

Their tight leather outfits merely covered essential parts, revealing large swathes of skin on their upper chests and abdomen, as well as their shapely and well-formed legs.

"Dou Wang power?"

The pair of black wings spanning over two meters startled both sides, making them halt their battle, quickly lining up clearly on either side, while cautiously watching one another.

Swoosh!

Wei Yang descended, retracting his wings and dispersing the Dou Qi enveloping his body, also setting down the little beauty in his arms.

"What's this!?"

Seeing the appearance of the newcomer, both sides were stunned.

The man was dressed in black, gold-thread-embroidered attire, with handsome features. The woman wore a plain white dress, with a celestial visage and an ethereal aura.

But the key point was!

They were too young!

The man looked no older than sixteen or seventeen, while the girl seemed even younger, appearing at most fourteen or fifteen.

Their auras were restrained, not giving off a sense of power, appearing almost ordinary.

However, no one present would be foolish enough to truly believe these two were ordinary people.

At the very least, that young man in black was certainly no ordinary person.

It's a joke; he could manifest Dou Qi wings.

A sixteen or seventeen-year-old Dou Wang expert?!

This was hard to accept.

Yet it seemed to be the reality.

Unlike the serpent people, the human mercenaries, although nervous, were secretly pleased.

Because it was clear the newcomers were human.

The serpent people, on the other hand, frowned, more tense but not overly fearful.

This was because there was an understanding between the upper echelons of both humans and the serpent people that strong individuals wouldn't casually attack weaker ones.

As long as you didn't seek trouble on purpose, the strong from both sides generally wouldn't attack to slaughter the weaker ones.

Wei Yang's gaze swept over both groups, finally settling on the human mercenaries.

Suddenly, Wei Yang furrowed his brow, and the girl beside him, Ye Xian'er, also showed a hint of disgust.

This was because, among the serpent people, there were a few lewd gazes discreetly sweeping over Ye Xian'er's slender waist, though they quickly shifted away.

Wei Yang nearly laughed in fury.

It was said that serpent people were lustful, often capturing human women for unspeakable acts, but this was too bold.

With strong soul perception, he instantly locked onto several of the male serpent people.

Noticing Wei Yang's gaze, those serpent people who had been secretly peeking were immediately startled, their faces showing terror.

Damn, couldn't control their eyes!

"Hmph!" Wei Yang casually waved his hand, and five swiftly rotating fiery red streams of light shot out from his fingertips.

Blazing Thorn!

An altered and improved version of the Yellow-Class advanced Dou Technique Gale Thorn, its power had reached the level of a Xuan-Class basic Dou Technique.

"Lord, spare..."

Puff! Puff! Puff!

The peeking serpent people had just opened their mouths to beg for mercy when they were each pierced through the forehead by the crimson streams.

Watching the serpent people collapse gradually with egg-sized, front-to-back transparent holes in their foreheads, Wei Yang spoke softly, "Ignorant of death or life!"

Silence!

Everyone was in terror watching this unfold.

The leading serpent person, with triangular pupils harboring fear and suppressed anger, slightly opened his mouth, a scarlet serpent tongue flickering, spoke with a cold and raspy voice, "Isn't it overstepping, Lord, to slaughter my serpent people like this? Aren't you afraid our Queen will..."

"Oh? Are you threatening me?" Wei Yang interrupted, speaking coldly, his gaze turning frosty.

If they couldn't control their eyes, killing them was no big deal. What could Medusa do even if she came?

"... I would not dare," the lead serpent person felt locked onto by a dangerous gaze, as if doused with ice water, the anger in his heart instantaneously extinguished, lowering his head.

All the serpent people lowered their heads. At that moment, they felt a chill run from their feet through their spines to their brains, their bodies turning cold.

Seeing this, Wei Yang withdrew his gaze, ignoring them, his eyes returning to the human mercenaries.

Noticing Wei Yang's attention, the dozen or so human mercenaries shivered.

"Who can tell me how to get to Rock Desert City?" Wei Yang asked, smiling.
