Ch.32 I'm a Pro at Stealing the Kill

For Ronan, he didn't have the ability to observe the future as freely as the Ancient One could. The "future" he knew was all based on the plotlines he was familiar with.

But now, the plot he was experiencing seemed to be undergoing subtle changes.

For example…

Ronan narrowed his eyes, and energy whips appeared in his hands, splitting into two parts and circling around his body.

Peter Parker, standing nearby, was dumbfounded.

"Wow, are you a sorcerer too?"

"Like Strange?"

Peter Parker had no sense of shyness when it came to making new friends.

If Peter Parker, without the Spider-Man suit, was a well-behaved kid, then with the suit on, he became a chatterbox and an overexcited child.

Seeing Ronan was about his age, Peter felt he had more in common with him.

"Guess?" Ronan replied with a mysterious smile as he slowly lifted off the ground, floating in mid-air.

He was going to steal some kills!

Ahead, the female Avengers were already engaged in battle with Thanos' army. Scarlet Witch and Valkyrie were both targeting the two giant flying creatures.

Ronan's plan? Steal their kills.

In the next second, he shot into the sky, flying toward the battle.

"Leave it to me!"

"You can go support others!"

"I'll take care of this small fry!"

Ronan quickly flew behind Scarlet Witch. The giant flying creature in front of her was already under her chaos magic control.

Scarlet Witch glanced back at Ronan and gave him a thankful nod before flying off.

See? She even thanked me.

Ronan flung his energy whip, wrapping the dying creature tightly.

If this were a human, Ronan might have made them experience the meaning of "hogtie," but unfortunately, this was a beast.

The creature let out a mournful cry, and its movements were completely restricted as it plummeted from the sky.

Its massive body hit the ground, causing a minor earthquake, but Ronan ignored it. His eyes were already on another target.

"Leave this one to me!" Ronan shouted to Valkyrie as he darted toward her.

Riding her winged horse, Valkyrie was startled by Ronan's sudden shout, and her weapon trembled in her hand.

But Ronan had been a little too late.

Valkyrie had already sliced the other flying beast cleanly in two, with a swift and practiced motion that made it seem like she had worked at a slaughterhouse before.

Watching the second creature fall lifelessly to the ground, Ronan felt a pang of regret.

That was valuable experience points!

Sighing, Ronan raised his left hand toward the first creature he had captured and clenched his fist tightly.

"Bad luck for you!"

At his words, the energy whip constricted, tightening further and further. With tremendous force, the creature's external armor shattered layer by layer.

Even though Ronan couldn't hear its dying screams or see any blood spray, he knew the creature was dead.

Because the system gave him a notification.

[Experience +1500]

Hiss…

When Ronan heard the system's notification, he couldn't help but suck in a breath.

He clutched at his chest, his legs stumbling back two steps.

Peter Parker quickly stepped forward to support him.

"Are you okay?" Peter asked, looking at Ronan's face with concern, thinking that Ronan had been hit by some invisible attack.

"No, I'm fine."

The words "I'm fine" came through gritted teeth.

That was 1500 experience points!

If he had been just a little faster, Valkyrie's kill would have been his too. That was another 1500 points lost.

Following the rule of "missing out means losing," Ronan's face darkened as he shook off Peter's support and charged forward again.

He had to move quickly because Thanos had just destroyed Scott Lang's van!

A powerful energy blast erupted from the van, sending shockwaves in all directions.

Everyone nearby, whether they were part of Thanos' army or the Avengers, was blown away by the force.

But Ronan didn't stop. The Raggadorr's Rings appeared in his hands.

The energy blast slammed into his shield, and Ronan felt his feet slide back involuntarily.

But soon, he steadied himself.

A strange feeling surged through him.

He could clearly sense energy flowing through the shield and into his body.

But this energy wasn't permanent.

Though there was no countdown, Ronan could feel that it wouldn't last long.

His face lit up with excitement as he scanned the battlefield for a worthy target.

If he was going to test this power, he needed to pick the strongest one available.

And the strongest also meant the most experience points.

His eyes locked onto Corvus Glaive, who was currently flying through the air, caught in the aftermath of the energy blast.

"You're the one!"

Ronan found his lucky target. He split the shield into two, with the Raggadorr's Rings in his right hand aimed at the airborne Corvus Glaive.

The energy coursing through Ronan's body quickly focused on the right-hand ring.

Boom!

As the energy fully concentrated, a golden light shot toward Corvus Glaive.

But that wasn't all.

Shortly after the golden light flew out, it split into numerous golden swords, scattering in all directions and forming a deadly net around Corvus Glaive.

Sensing danger, Corvus Glaive tried to shield himself with his weapon and crouched behind his arms to reduce the damage.

But…

The powerful energy swords shattered his weapon, and the first sword pierced straight through his chest.

Then sword after sword followed, stabbing into his body.

Blood sprayed in the air.

Ronan stood there, raising his right hand in a mock gun gesture, blowing imaginary smoke off his finger.

Behind him, Peter Parker's eyes widened as he instinctively touched his own chest.

If that had hit him…

The thought made Peter shudder.

Better not think about it—Murphy's Law is unpredictable.

Thud!

Corvus Glaive's corpse hit the ground, and the system's pleasant notification rang out.

[Experience +3000]

[You have leveled up!]

Awesome!

Satisfied, Ronan lowered his right hand and glanced at his now-empty experience bar, whistling.

He had leveled up again!

Unfortunately, there wouldn't be any more opportunities to farm experience like that.

With that last explosion, Thanos had practically wiped out his entire army.

Of the remaining foes, only Ebony Maw was worth Ronan's attention.

The rest? Nothing but trash.

"Um…"

"What's that move called?" Peter Parker swallowed nervously, unsure of what else to say.

Ronan raised an eyebrow as he watched Thanos draw closer to the Infinity Gauntlet, a smirk forming on his lips.

"That move?"

"It's called… Swords of Revealing Light."

"How's that for you?"
