"Mom, Daya is cooking," Zhao Tianxiang said as he returned with water, greeting Mrs. Zhao on her arrival and reminding her there was no need for her to cook.
"Mom, did you just come back from Laosan's place? Didn't they offer you breakfast?" Da Shu's mother asked casually on her return from washing clothes, seeing that her mother-in-law had come from Laosan's.
Mrs. Zhao's impression of Da Shu's mother was worsening.
She wondered if it was time to have Laoer's family move out too?
She would talk to Grandpa.
"I did indeed have breakfast there. Laosan's wife was really too polite. She made noodles and even poached an egg for me. I was stuffed all morning."
As soon as she said this, everyone in the courtyard, adults and children alike, turned to look at Mrs. Zhao, especially Da Shu's mother, whose face was incredulous.
Noodles and an egg?
Since when was Laosan's wife so generous?
