Chapter 63: You Need to Study My Body

Chapter 63: You Need to Study My Body

Chiba leaned casually against the window, watching the duel between Zoro and Koby with an amused expression.

"Zoro, you're our swordsman! Don't lose!" Usopp shouted, fists clenched.

"Green Algae-head, if you lose, don't say you're on the same ship as me!" Sanji taunted, hoping to fire Zoro up. He knew Zoro's strength well; in terms of swordsmanship, Zoro was at the pinnacle among the younger generation.

Koby looked younger than Zoro, and Sanji was convinced he couldn't possibly be a match for him.

"Koby, you can do it!" Luffy cheered excitedly, only for Nami to stomp over and smack him.

"Whose side are you on?!" she demanded.

Luffy rubbed his head, grinning. "Koby's my friend too! But I'll cheer for Zoro, too."

"Go, Zoro! Go, Koby!" Luffy and Chopper waved flowers they'd somehow acquired, shouting support for both sides.

"Mr. Zoro, you haven't drawn your swords yet," Koby reminded, his tone polite but challenging.

A smirk curled the corner of Zoro's mouth. "If you can make me draw my swords, you win."

"Then I'll start. Be careful, Mr. Zoro." The moment Koby finished speaking, he vanished. Zoro's eyes widened, his pupils dilating as he quickly moved his sword to block behind him.

Clang!

The tip of Koby's wooden staff deflected off Zoro's sword and stabbed toward his ribs. If Koby had been using a real blade, Zoro would have been pierced.

Koby didn't press his advantage. Instead, he leaped back, creating distance.

The Straw Hat Crew stared, stunned into silence.

"Hey, Moss-head, what are you doing?" Sanji yelled.

"Shut up!" Zoro growled, clearly irritated but also focused.

Getting serious, Zoro drew his swords, Wado Ichimonji and Sandai Kitetsu, their steel gleaming in the light.

"You've made some impressive progress, Kobyโ€ฆ but that ends here."

"Two-Sword Style: Iai Slash!"

In an instant, Zoro unleashed a horizontal slash aimed directly at Koby. A powerful wave of sword energy tore toward him, its sheer force cutting through the walls on either side.

"Zoro! Aren't you ashamed of yourself, using techniques against someone with a wooden stick?!" Sanji yelled indignantly.

"Be careful, Zoro! Don't hurt Koby!" Nami shouted, fearing that if Koby got hurt, Chiba would retaliate against them.

But Zoro only intensified his attack, his sword aura cutting through the air in deadly arcs.

Koby tightened his grip on the wooden staff, and as Zoro's blade came crashing down, he met it head-on.

Clang!

The sound of metal against wood echoed as Koby blocked Zoro's slash.

"What?!" Zoro felt his arms go numb from the impact. Was this really the same timid kid from before?

"Kobyโ€ฆ actually blocked Zoro's slash? With a stick?" Sanji gaped in disbelief.

Zoro's strikes could cut through steel, yet Koby's wooden staff held firm.

"Look! His staffโ€ฆ it's turned black!" Chopper observed, his eyes wide.

"Armament Haki?" Robin said, her voice filled with surprise.

While Zoro was momentarily stunned, Koby kicked him in the stomach, using the momentum to put distance between them once more.

Assuming a steady stance, Koby looked at Zoro, determination in his eyes. "Mr. Zoro, I've learned a lot from Master Chiba over the past year. I've sparred with Rear Admirals, and I've been on missions to hunt down pirates with bounties of over 100 million. If you don't take this seriously, you'll lose."

Zoro took a deep breath, gripping Wado Ichimonji and Sandai Kitetsu tightly as a thin layer of black energyโ€”his own Armament Hakiโ€”began to coat the blades.

Chiba raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Ah, so he knows Armament Haki too."

Zoro's Haki wasn't fully refined, likely a result of a basic training method the Marines had developed. Still, it was impressive progress.

In a flash, Zoro and Koby clashed repeatedly, exchanging dozens of blows. Zoro's attacks were flashy and skillful, while Koby used straightforward moves, relying on his mastery of the Six Powers, Armament Haki, and Observation Haki to keep up. In the end, Koby's control and precision gave him the edge, and he narrowly defeated Zoro.

Zoro stared at his swords, a defeated look in his eyes.

Koby chuckled, patting Zoro's shoulder. "Mr. Zoro, your natural talent surpasses mine. But I've been trained with the best physical techniques, and I've had access to powerful potions and elixirs. The stuff you've been using isโ€ฆ well, let's say it's remarkable you've come this far with it."

Zoro's eyebrow twitched, sensing the unintentional insult.

Koby reached into his pocket and pulled out a small bottle, offering it to Zoro. "If you trust me, drink this."

Without hesitation, Zoro took the bottle and downed it in one gulp. Instantly, a surge of energy spread through his body. He could feel the powerful medicinal effect coursing through his limbs, mending old injuries and strengthening his muscles.

Zoro's eyes widened in amazement. "No wonder you're so strongโ€ฆ This potion is incredible."

"It's at least ten times stronger than the body-strengthening potions we got off the black market!" Chopper exclaimed, rushing over. "Zoro, is it really that effective?"

"See for yourself." Zoro tossed the half-empty bottle to Chopper. Chopper took a sip, and moments later, his eyes sparkled with excitement. "It's amazing! So powerful!"

Chopper turned to Chiba with a hopeful grin. "Master Chiba, would you be willing to sell us some of this potion?"

Chiba put on a stern expression, shaking his head. "I'm afraid not. That was our last bottle."

Chopper's face fell, crestfallen. But then Chiba's lips curled into a sly smile. "Howeverโ€ฆ I could give you the formula."

Chopper's eyes went wide, stars practically sparkling in them. "Really? You'd share it?"

Chiba nodded, but added, "On one condition: you'll need toโ€ฆ study my body."
