Tate slowly opened his eyes when he heard the female voice in his head. His sight was blurry, but after a few seconds he discovered that he was in the living room.

The ceiling fan was moving at a slow pace and it was somehow affecting his eyes.

[You have countless unread messages]

Tate stared at the last message from the system, it was like a video game in his eyes, never did he expect something like this to happen to him in real life. 

"You are awake."

He heard Lora's voice next. Lora had been sitting beside him all this while, he didn't even notice her. Thinking about the scene from earlier, Tate quickly stood up halfway and faced his sister. 

"Lora!... I.... am sorry!"

He bowed his head as he apologized.

"I wish I could say I had no choice, I did have a choice, but this was the best option out of all the choices that were available, I wish.. I wish I had a better choice!"

Tate's eyes became wet. Just then Lora hugged him.

"Just don't get this hurt again!"

Lora rested her head on Tate's shoulder, she cleaned Tate wounds when he was unconscious. He had so many old injuries that she had no idea of. 

She suspected that Tate was fighting, but she just couldn't bring herself to believe it. Now that she had seen it, all the years they had been together came rushing in at once and she felt guilty for letting him take all the burden of the family. 

There was nothing Lora could possibly do, given she was still attending school, but she could at least cheer him up. 

"If you can't take it anymore, just give up, please. Please don't kill yourself, you are all I have! You are all I have now."

Lora started crying in Tate's embrace. Tate didn't know what to say, he thought his sister would be angry, she had every right to be because he lied to her, but she was encouraging him. 

Seeing his sister was encouraging him, something ignited inside him. 

He gently taps Lora on her back. 

His voice was calm.

"Don't worry Lora. I won't get this badly hurt again. I promise!"

Tate said those few words and stood up to his feet. Without looking at Lora he said. 

"I will make you proud, and mom too. When she wakes up, I want her to be proud of the man I have become."

Lora wiped her tears away and gave Tate a nod. 

Tate approached his room. 

"I will be in my room. Don't worry about me, you can eat alone, when I am finished I will serve myself."

With those few words, Tate entered his room. He shut the door locked and focused on the system. 

He didn't know how the system was going to do it, but he wanted to be the best in the world. He didn't want to be any normal martial artist, he wanted to be the G. O. A. T. 

With just a mere thought of the last message, the system appeared in Tate's eyes again.

Tate stared at the new window of the system, it was more like a game to him, and he somehow understood everything. 

Back when his father was still alive, he was a video game maniac and his favorite video games were boxing, wrestling and other fighting games. 

He knew exactly what he was seeing, the only thing he didn't quite understand was how he got this type of power in real life. 

"Am I the only person with this strange power?"

Tate couldn't help but ask, what if they were others, or this was a normal thing for the real champions of the world.

Tate was a little disappointed but he continued by scrolling down on the blue screen in front of him.
