Valen was kneeling with a dark expression in front of King Aldrian, reporting about the last war events in the past week.
"Your Majesty, another city has fallen in the west; the demons continue to advance. We are unfortunately powerless against them. There are too many, and in the same realm, other races can't fight as equals, only the vampires, but we are too few…"
Aldrian stayed silent for a few seconds before responding to Valen. "Valen, would you accompany me on a walk?"
"Huh? Of course, Your Majesty, where are we going?" Asked Valen.
"Let's go to God's Temple," replied Aldrian.
Valen was baffled. He, of course, knew about God's Temple, but didn't Aldrian already go there once? "Have you never set foot in God's temple, Your Majesty?"
"You can call me by name when we are alone, Valen. We are close enough for that," said Aldrian, not answering the question.
"I'm sorry, I'll do that. Aldrian."
