Gold Digger

Ava's POV:

I took a step backward as she stepped in. "I am sorry for showing up unannounced," Linda smiled at me.

"I am curious to what I owe such a visit; I don't think we are friends," I answered, and she still kept smiling at me. I kind of had a hint of why she was here, but I chose to feign innocence.

"Won't you offer me coffee?" She walked to the couch and sat, then placed her left leg on the right.

"Black coffee?" I asked since that's what the rich claimed to like.

"Green, you got that?"

I nodded and walked to the kitchen to make her coffee. I kept peeping in the sitting room and questioning myself, Why the fuck will I even let her in and even make coffee for her?

When I was done, I served it and walked towards her. "Here," I placed it on the table, and she smiled at me.

"So please cut to the chase, Linda West, why are you here?" I raised a brow, and she sipped the coffee.

Then she took another sip. "I see why Yan always makes his coffee himself; he says no one could get the balance of honey and sugar that he loves in a cup of coffee," she explained.

"Turns out you got it right, so I am curious... Did he learn it from you, or was it the other way around?"

Where was she going with such questions?

"What do you want, Linda?"

"Simple, I want you to stay out of Yan's life. We have gone a long way to arrive here today," she warned, and I chuckled. Of course she came here to warn me.

"I want money; offer me money, and I will leave him."

She stood up in disbelief. "Is that what you want?"

"Yes, that's what I want," I answered with a bold tone. She retracted her phone.

"Name your price then, and I will do the transfer."

"1 billion only; that's the only amount I need to give up the title of being Mrs. Earlton," I spouted, and I noticed the shock on her face.

What? She couldn't give me 1 billion so I could leave Yan? He doesn't cost that much?

"You are such a gold digger," Linda scolded in disbelief. I walked to the door and signaled that she leave.

She stomped towards me. "Linda, if I were digging for gold, then I know exactly where to dig." I made it clear to her; she snorted and walked away.

Such a spoiled brat.

I hurried upstairs and freshened up and got dressed in a white gown. When I was done, I went to the kid's bedroom.

Seeing that they were done with their homework, I asked them to come with me.

We got to the car, and I drove out, "Mother, are we going to the park?" Lily asked excitedly.

"Or how about we go to Yawa? I heard there will be a game there today," Ryan added with a pleading tone. I turned to Fred, who didn't say anything.

"Don't you have anywhere you wish to go?"

"To the library," he blurted, and I chuckled.

"So boring, Fred," Lily scoffed as I kept driving around the city.

The park was so crowded, and the football game was going to be too loud for the kids, and the library, of course, was not an option.

So I parked the car in front of a restaurant; this was the better option.

We all walked down the car and got inside the restaurant, and as usual, I couldn't escape people's gazes as they were all wondering if I was the mother of the triplets, and they also wondered at what age I had to give birth.

Luckily, that never for once bothered me... As long as the evil eyes were on me, then I had no problem.

"Mother, can we order whatever we want?" Lily jumped excitedly, and I nodded.

After placing our orders, I received a call from Sisa and decided to step aside as the kids were being noisy.

"Yes?"

"Did you fix the problem with Mr. Earlton? Why are the Wests threatening to sue us?" She asked, and I frowned. Was this Linda West's way of slapping me in the face?

"You asked me to talk to the Earltons and not the West's; I had no idea they would also try to sue us."

"So stupid Ava, I told you to convince Yan Earlton and plead with him so that no one will sue us; did you do that? No, will you have a job to come back to tomorrow? No," she snorted and hung up on me.

God, Yan said if I should have dinner with him tomorrow so we could move past that event... then why was it still on the table?

"Hey," I heard a lady scream, and I quickly turned to find Lily before her.

"Are you blind? Can't you watch where you are going?" The lady scolded Lily; I noticed there was some stain on her clothes. Why was Lily so agitated? Now she had caused this... The woman looked like a very influential personality, and that stained designer gown of hers was my complete salary or more.

"This is a restaurant and not an orphanage," she scolded, and my eyes widened in shock. Did she just say that to my daughter?

I hurried towards her angrily and pushed her, "Are you crazy? Did you just say that to a kid?"
