Mage Tower

It took almost half an hour before everything was sold and when it was complete he only had to calculate the commission.

With their commission taken he was left with exactly 76 silver and 98 copper.

When they brought his money to him he thanked them.

They gave him a card that would apparently allow him to specifically request a seller for his items if he returned.

He assumed that this was something given to every person who sells items so he just thanked them and left.

The card itself was made from copper and held mana within in intricate ways similar to the spell circles he had seen in the forging rooms he had cultivated in.

Since his task was done he wanted to explore the city, specifically a large tower than had been catching his eye everytime he looked at the skyline.

~

Approaching the tower Ezekiel was held back by the hand of a guard.

"Identification boy?"

"Uhh..."

Without any idea about the identification that could be required he just held up his copper card he just got.

"Look i dont care if you're supposed to be some kid with money, you need your identification to enter the tower."

"I dont even know what the tower is though? What identification do I need?"

"This is a mage tower, if you don't have any identification then you haven't passed their test. Go get your qualification test done then we can talk."

"Can you tell me where the test is at least?"

The guard seemed very annoyed but complied with his request anyway.

He would have to return to the lower portion of the city and find a large building with a specific symbol.

The guard had at least been nice enough to show him the symbol before forcing him away.

Since he didn't know what to expect for this test other than the fact that it involved mages he would have to take it seriously.

When he got to the building he saw that it at least had a clear intention.

This was another training area for mages like in the village!

When entering the building he was greeted by an elf that radiated mana.

"Hello how can I help you?"

"Im uh, here to take my qualification test?"

"Ah! Well come right this way young man. The first thing we will do is measure your mana as well as its quality."

Mana quality?!

"I... was never taught about mana quality, im an otherworlder could you please explain?"

"Oh of course i would be happy to!"

The mage had initially seemed surprised but then he was all smiles.

"Mana quality unlike mana skills is something that you are born with much like your bloodline."

They arrived at a room which contained three crystal balls.

"Now in this room we will measure how far you have come as a mage as well as your potential because of your mana quality."

When he heard the word potential his heart sank.

Using some strange quality decided upon your birth to decide how far you can go as a mage was a bad sign for this game.

~

The first crystal ball he was brought to was at the base of a pillar of stone that contained ten little gemstones.

"Now this will tell us your mana quality. Mana quality basically just refers to how dense your mana naturally is when you make a core."

"Since having a core means you will be trying to condense it into a solid state, having naturally denser mana means you have a naturally denser core which means more mana."

"This crystal will take the equivalent of a mana orb from your core and it will use the mana to fill the crystals."

He placed his hand on the ball and when the crystal absorded the small amount that barely even appeared on his mana bar he watched the crystals on the pillar begin to shine.

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.

Welcome to all my new readers, I am very happy to see you were interested.

I will do my best to make two chapters a day and for every three power stones my novel receives i will make an additional chapter.

If i miss a day i apologize as searching for work in my area is exhausting and i am doing this novel as a hobby and hopefully as a way to supplement some income.
