Chapter 6 - I need a break

In the middle of the Amazon jungle, two individuals could be seen in different positions; a grizzly bear with a scarred bite on its left shoulder with a dagger stabbing its neck, while in front of it was a humanoid being that looked like a human being, if it weren't for some bat wings behind it, with a mocking smile on its face and then turning around and leaving that animal possibly at death's door... Let's go back to a few weeks ago.

...

"What the hell is that?" I looked up to look at the shadow that hovered above me, only to see a flame with wings accompanied by a fierce storm. My disbelief didn't last long, since that creature swooped down towards me as if it were an eagle; dodging its swooping attack, I managed to see its body more closely. "Bones? I'm feeling weird; Jarjachas are supposed to have human faces, but I've never heard of a Jarjacha with condor wings, a human skeleton face, and bony legs; what the hell is this shit?" I had to stop talking to myself as I had to avoid another dive attack while falling to the ground in the storm's beginning water.

"Kra-KOOM!" A loud rumble echoed, both from the torment and from the Jarjacha-like creature; the noise was so loud that I had to cover my small ears with my two front paws. "Grrraaaaar!" When its scream stopped, I got up from the ground and, standing on my two hind legs, let out a loud roar in response to its previous scream. That Jarjacha swooped down again, its mouth aiming for my neck to rip my head off, then I raised my paw, ready to strike its head, missing by a long shot.

At the last minute before it bit my neck and ripped my head off, I changed into a smaller form, narrowly avoiding its bites as I flew back up. Looking at it from my cat form, I let out a small growl and then looked around for something that could be useful, until my gaze was fixed on the spear that I still had left; running, I avoided another diving attack from the flying Jarjacha, then I launched myself and rolled on the ground, returning to a grizzly bear form.

Taking the spear in my hand, I turned my gaze towards the flying Jarjacha as it returned to attack in a diving attack, tightening my grip on my spear. I threw it hard. The Jarjacha, seeing the attack, moved its body, preventing the attack on its body, but the spear connected with its wing, causing it to fall hard on the ground, bouncing hard towards me, being received by a strong slap from me, tearing off its bony head and throwing its body for several meters.

I walked through the storm that soaked my fur towards the body of that bony Jarjacha with wings. Until I was in front of the body, I took out my claws and with force I began to destroy its body, only tearing wool and pure bones, turning my gaze towards the skull. I walked towards it and with force I destroyed the skull. As if the heavens realized that that blasphemous creature had perished, the storm stopped and with it a beautiful clear night sky once again adorned the skies.

Seeing the beautiful blue sky, I turned my gaze towards the decapitated body of Porfiria to slowly approach. Before arriving, I took the severed head and continued on my way until I was in front of her. I took my things from her back, placing them on mine. After that, she saw the corpse of my first friend in this world again. "Porfiria, I'm sorry I didn't protect you; I had the power to do so but I couldn't, and even if it didn't seem like it, I know you protected me with your life when you threw me off your back... Thank you, for everything, my first friend."

"ROOOAAAR!" After letting out a loud roar of lament, with the help of my claws I began to make a hole almost two meters long to then bury Porfiria's remains. On a nearby stone wall with my claw I wrote in my language: here rests my first friend. Leaving Porfiria's grave, she walked towards the remains of the Jarjacha she had killed. "Damn disgusting beings, I hope they are punished for their sins in hell as they were being while alive."

Throwing dirt in disdain at their bodies, my gaze returned to the remains of my clothes and the spear that had fallen nearby. "Shit, I guess I should just stay in bear form now so I don't get cold… Hmm?" When I try to grab my spear again, I can't get it to fall to the ground easily; no matter how hard I try to grab it, it always falls to the ground. "This is weird, just a while ago he even threw it easily, but now that I think about it, how does he catch it without having thumbs?"

I looked at the palm of my paw, seeing only fingers and claws, shaking my head. I shook the ideas and thoughts out of my head and looked into the distance. "Now, where do I go? There's no point in going to a village anymore if Porfiria is dead," I sat on the ground and looked at the night sky. "I better head to the Amazon jungle, there I can train without interruptions and avoid any encounters with demons or Jarjachas," I turned my head to the bite wound on my shoulder; licking the wound I got on all fours and walked towards my destination… "Wait… Where is the Amazon jungle?"

...

After walking for almost a whole month fighting with pumas, walking on sunny days, sleeping next to llamas, taking their form and even drinking water from the rivers, I finally managed to reach the Amazon jungle. "Well, this place looks wilder than the forest where I first woke up," I looked around, seeing several different types of plants. "For some reason I feel watched; it's probably because more than 100 animals lived in this place and not to mention the plant species; I just hope I don't end up poisoned; looking on the bright side, I won't meet any supernatural entity."

I started walking through the Amazon looking around, avoiding stepping on any poisonous snakes, toads or frogs. I was so focused on the landscape and where I stepped that I didn't notice the being spying on me. "Wow, I never expected to find this kind of bear in this place," upon hearing a voice, I didn't hesitate and quickly turned my head, finding a humanoid figure, which I wouldn't hesitate to think was a human being if it weren't for the bat wings that adorn its back.

"What the hell is a demon like you doing in this place?!" I didn't hesitate to show my teeth, release my claws and stand on two legs. "Tch, how dare a beast like you roar at a demon like me?" That demon raised his arm and a magical circus appeared in the palm of his hand, and then a bolt of lightning came out of it. Narrowly dodging it, I charged at him, changing into a white rhinoceros and sending him crashing into a tree, then turning back into a grizzly bear and trying to rip his head off with a slap, only for him to dodge it and pull out a sword and try to stab my abdomen.

Changing into a dove, I dodged the stab and, obviously, not having taken the flying one before, I crashed into the ground and then transformed back into a grizzly bear. "So an animal that can change shapes, huh! I'll get a lot if I take you to the underworld alive," he charged at me in a second and launched a horizontal slash; Narrowly dodging his slash, he only managed to make a scratch on my chest, then changing into a silver-backed gorilla and, raising my fists in the air, punching him.

The demon, seeing my attack, managed to use his sword to block my attack, only for his sword to be sent flying away… Turning back into the form of a grizzly bear, I landed a swipe that sent him crashing into a tree; changing back into a white rhinoceros, I rammed him hard with my nose horn, causing him to spit blood. Then I took the form of a dove, with effort flipping a bit and changing into a grizzly bear to fall on top of him with force…

BOOM!

"Roooaaaar!" I let out a loud roar as I stood on top of his wounded and battered form; I brought my face close to his neck, ready to bite him or rip his head off; it was then that I was inches away from his neck that I stopped. 'I'm going to kill someone, it's a demon, it deserves to die, it's just like the Jarjacha, but this one has human form, I can't, I, I, what do I do? What should I do?' My mind was filled with questions and doubts about whether killing a humanoid being was right, without noticing the actions of the demon below me.

STAB

It was then that I felt a sharp pain coming from my neck; looking down I could see the demon's sneer and then follow his raised arm and see a dagger even in my neck. "Don't die, I'm going to sell you to the nobles, maybe they'll give me a lot of money for a creature that changes shapes," were the demon's words as he came out from under me and walked away, leaving me collapsed on the ground. "Don't worry, I'll be back, you're my ticket to a lot of money, and to think that I came to this place for vague matters, in the end I found tremendous treasure, now I'll be back."

STAB

The demon's words stopped dead in an instant, looking down he could see a huge stinger piercing his stomach, turning his head slowly he could still see the bear collapsed on the ground. His gaze slowly traveled down his body, passing over his hairy back to his tail, observing that instead of finding a small tail, there was a long scorpion tail that reached all the way to his back. "I didn't want to do this, but I guess at this point it's no longer important to maintain my humanity." The demon could only hear some grunts from the bear, before the stinger came out of his stomach and pierced his skull, causing the stinger to come out through his forehead.

Getting up from the ground carefully so the dagger wouldn't come out of his neck and bleed out, I looked at the huge scorpion tail that had replaced mine.

Children's laughter

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the laughter of a small child. I turned my gaze quickly, seeing a child-like entity with clothes made of tree leaves, fiery red hair, a smile that didn't reach his eyes, and what stood out most about his appearance were his feet that were upside down. "Shit, I need a vacation urgently."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

If you have any questions about the flying Jarjacha, I'll quickly tell you its story. It's called Yawar Jarjacha, which means Blood of Jarjacha. It is a consequence of a shaman trying to transcend by drinking the cursed blood of the Jarjacha, as a consequence the change in appearance of the Jarjacha and its ability to bring storms in its presence, since the Jarjacha for those who do not know are humans punished with divine energy for committing incest.

I'm running out of ideas, people, well, a little. This chapter showed a bit of the transformation potential that the MC has, but the next chapter will show the true potential, so until tomorrow, take care.
