Yohan's life was tragically cut short when he drowned at the young age of 25, without ever discovering who or what caused his untimely demise. But to his surprise, Yohan woke up as a younger version of himself - only twenty years old! His first life had been full of misery, no one even knew he existed, not even his loved ones. This time around, however, all Yohan wanted was to live happily and forget about the past once and for all. But it seemed that fate had other plans for him, from the beginning of his second chance at life, everyone he tried so hard to avoid began reappearing in his path once again...
SPLASH!
As Yohan's body fell into the lake, his limp form sank beneath the water's surface. The raindrops that had been falling on him followed suit, merging with the cool lake water. His lack of swimming ability coupled with his almost non existent will to live, rendered him motionless as he sank deeper and deeper into the depths of the lake, surrendering himself to its grasp.
However, even in his seemingly hopeless state, Yohan's eyes remained open despite the intense pain that came with it. He looked up yearningly towards where he had seen his assailant before falling, but was met only by a dark sky and heavy rainfall obstructing his view. Yet one detail stood out clear in his mind, that whoever wanted him dead was taller than he was, this final image forever seared into Yohan's memory.
As Yohan's life slowly faded away, his mind was flooded with memories. They appeared before him like film strips - encounters with two brothers, his marriage, misunderstandings, and family moments.
But these memories were not beautiful, instead they felt like mocking ghosts from the past, reminders of people who ruined his life. It was a bitter irony that even in death he could only recall the faces of those he despised so much.
Yet amidst all these painful thoughts emerged a memory of a man whose smile had once caught Yohan's attention. The man hadn't done anything bad to him, but it was his distrust towards Yohan that made Yohan's life even more devastated.
"Yohan, do you think I care about you?"
The last words spoken by the man hours ago lingered in Yohan's mind, haunting him even as death approached.
As he sank deeper into the lake, his body slowly disappearing into the darkness below, he couldn't help but wonder if those words were true. Did that man truly not care about him?
Despite everything, a sense of peace washed over Yohan as his final moments drew near. He was finally free from all the pain and suffering that had consumed his life. And maybe somewhere out there in the universe, someone did care about him, someone who would cherish his memory long after he was gone.
With a serene smile on his face and thoughts of hope in his heart, Yohan surrendered himself to death's embrace.
