RENEE
Ensuring that the opening event goes off without a hitch has been draining for everyone involved. I've brought in several staff members from Mexico just to make this a success, and they've all been working tirelessly, pushing themselves to the limit. Yesterday, I ended up spending the night at the office, unable to finish the mountain of work that was waiting for me. This morning, I had no choice but to shower and change into the spare clothes I keep in the closet here.
The shrill ring of the landline interrupted my thoughts, and I picked it up without lifting my eyes from the files scattered across my desk. "Maya?" I asked, assuming it was my assistant.
"Mr. Diablo is here to see you," she informed me.
I froze, my heart skipping a beat. Which of the Diablos would come to see me? "Which one?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady. It was ridiculous how just the mention of that name could make me panic.
