Chapter 38 Counterattack

The scene in front of Orion changed again. A cold wind blew on his face, and a blonde girl appeared in front of him.

"Cocolia?"

Orion saw Cocolia talking with a huge steel giant. Above the giant was where the stellaron used to be.

"Is this real?" Cocolia asked.

"Yes, the disaster on this planet was caused by your ancestor. I'm just following her orders," the stellaron replied.

"No way! You're lying!"

"Humans are so inefficient. I'm just making sure your wishes come true," the stellaron said.

"That's nonsense. I'll check it myself."

Cocolia walked past Orion, as if he were invisible to her.

"The stellaron was talking to Cocolia when she was younger. Although it wasn't lying, it twisted the facts a bit," Orion thought.

As time passed, the stellaron continued to use his power to persuade Cocolia.

When Cocolia found out that the cold wave was linked to the first-generation Supreme Guardian, she became more convinced.

"I can give you a new world, one that's bigger and better," the stellaron promised.

"Be quiet!"

Cocolia stopped talking to the stellaron and grew more powerful. She began to question the importance of their history and Beloberg's history.

Holding her ears and trembling, Cocolia lost her strength and started doubting her mission.

"She was my favorite ally once," Stellaron's voice came to Orion's ear.

"But not anymore." Cocolia vanished, and the ground under Orion turned into nothingness. Orion felt a strong sense of weightlessness.

"Enjoy it. There's no hope left."

Orion began to fall endlessly. He felt a growing panic, yearning for solid ground, but there was nothing to hold onto.

He tried to use gravity to control his fall, but it only made him more disoriented. After many attempts, he gave up and focused on fighting the feeling of weightlessness.

Even though he was falling from thousands of meters up, the feeling of weightlessness seemed endless. Orion tried to keep his fear at bay, but the sense of falling forever tormented him.

"Has it been ten minutes? An hour? Or more?" Orion wondered. Time felt stretched, and what seemed like a short while felt like an eternity.

Suddenly, a light appeared in front of him. Orion reached out instinctively but stopped before touching it. A cold sweat broke out on his forehead. If something seemed too good to be true, it usually was.

The light was from his enemy, the stellaron.

"Too bad, you almost fell for it," a voice said, sounding regretful. The stellaron's plan was clear now.

When Orion's mind was confused and he was falling, any hint of hope would make him fall into a trap. Like someone lost in the dark who sees a light, even if it's dangerous, they'll want to escape their fear and darkness.

"Orion, I knew you'd come to me, but I'm curious about your hidden cards. What will you do now?" the voice teased.

Orion, still falling, opened his eyes. The previous panic was gone.

In a dark and empty space, a burst of colorful light surrounded Orion Astra. Even though it was small, it shone brightly.

"Oh, so the power of memories is your biggest trick?" Ripples appeared in the void. As soon as the colorful light appeared, the control over Orion vanished. For the first time, both sides were evenly matched in this mental battle.

Orion cracked his neck and stepped onto the small, colorful ground. "It feels good to be on solid ground."

His clothes and body were covered in colorful energy from the mirror. His hair floated up against gravity, making him look like a superhero.

Golden-red particles gathered in Orion Astra's hand, forming a large sword engulfed in blazing fire. "Godslayer: Surtr."

The sword showed visible signs of damage, with several cracks throughout the blade. With a flick of his fingers, Orion filled the cracks with golden light, showing the sword's will align with his own.

Behind him, a spirit appeared with long, fiery red hair and a fierce, determined look in her eyes. Her spirit seemed almost magical.

Orion pointed his sword at the empty world and challenged the dark force. "Is your attack done? It's my turn now!"

In the dark universe, only flames quietly burned across the galaxy.
