Chapter 35: Uchiha Itachi Hunts His Clan

The Konoha high command was gathering intelligence on the Uchiha.

Similarly, Raijin was not falling behind in this regard.

He was also closely monitoring Konoha's reactions.

At the slightest sign of trouble, he would immediately flee.

"Lord Raijin, the people we placed within the Sarutobi clan have been discovered."

"They haven't returned since being discovered, so they're probably dead."

Tekka respectfully approached Raijin and reported.

Another clansman had died, but Tekka's expression remained indifferent.

Raijin narrowed his eyes. There was no reason why only they could kill his people and he couldn't kill theirs. They were all from Konoha.

This was how internal conflicts worked.

Fugaku Uchiha didn't have the guts to do such a thing.

But Uchiha Raijin wouldn't hesitate.

Raijin intended to push things to the extreme!

"Hunt down Konoha's Anbu!"

Uchiha Tekka was immediately excited. He hadn't expected such a good opportunity.

Wasn't this a good thing?

Their Uchiha brethren had disappeared without a trace, dead or alive.

Had those Konoha Anbu shown them any mercy?

Probably not.

They had to retaliate.

"I appoint you as the captain of the high-ranking official hunting squad!"

Raijin thought of the Konoha high command and spoke coldly. 

"There's even less need to hold back against these people."

"Yes!"

A flash of red crossed Uchiha Tekka's face.

His entire being was filled with excitement as he shouted at Raijin.

He hadn't expected such a good opportunity to fall into his lap.

Uchiha Tekka hurriedly left Raijin's residence and headed outside.

He planned to personally select the members for this team.

He had to choose the most elite Jonin team from the Uchiha clan.

Their Sharingan had to be at least three-tomoe.

With such a team, they would have a significant advantage over Konoha.

Uchiha Tekka rushed out.

Raijin's gaze turned to the girl standing beside him.

This girl was Uchiha Izumi, who had recently graduated from the Ninja Academy.

Raijin had intercepted her assignment to a team by using the excuse of recruiting her into the Police Force reserves.

He prevented Hiruzen Sarutobi from assigning her to a team, keeping her within the Uchiha.

When she came to see Raijin, he explained their plan to flee to Izumi.

At the time, Izumi was full of disbelief, but gradually accepted it.

Her only request was to bring her mother along.

So, Raijin pulled her to his side as an attendant.

"Don't think it's cruel. This is a game between Konoha and the Uchiha."

"We can't show any weakness, or they'll just take advantage of us."

Raijin noticed the dissatisfaction in the girl's eyes.

She saw him as simply an executioner.

But compared to an executioner, Raijin believed he was far less ruthless than Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"But we're still comrades of Konoha. Isn't it a bit... to kill each other?"

Uchiha Izumi frowned slightly, feeling uncomfortable.

After all, the Ninja Academy had taught them to rely on their comrades and teamwork!

Raijin's approach made anyone who saw it feel uneasy.

"Is killing each other too cruel? Do you know what Itachi Uchiha has been doing lately?"

Raijin sneered.

"We haven't seen each other since we parted ways with Itachi that time."

"I'm not sure what he's been doing lately."

Uchiha Izumi shook her head.

She didn't want to pay more attention to Itachi.

"He's been slaughtering his own clan!"

Raijin said coldly.

"Impossible!"

Uchiha Izumi's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Raijin.

Izumi still held a glimmer of hope for Itachi, hoping that the young man would change his ways.

She couldn't believe that Uchiha Itachi could do such a thing.

After all, no matter what, Itachi was the clan leader's son.

As the young heir of the Uchiha clan, to commit such a heinous act...

"Itachi joined the Root, the organization founded by Danzo Shimura."

"The mission he accepted was to target Uchiha members on missions outside the village."

"He even attacked Uchiha spies planted by Konoha."

"His hands are stained with the blood of countless clansmen."

Raijin scoffed!

Nothing was impossible for Uchiha Itachi.

If he could side with Danzo, maybe he would even besiege the Uchiha clan tomorrow.

If there was any wrongdoing in the ninja world that no one knew who did it, it was safe to assume it was Danzo.

Nine times out of ten, it was Danzo's doing!

One could imagine how evil Danzo was in the ninja world.

"Then I want to join the team hunting Konoha's high-ranking officials!"

"I want to see with my own eyes if it's true."

Uchiha Izumi struggled a bit, almost believing Raijin's words.

But Izumi still wanted to confirm for herself whether it was really Itachi who did it.

"Then go. Just find Uchiha Tekka."

Raijin didn't intend to refuse Uchiha Izumi's proposal.

He estimated that after this trip, there might be another pair of Mangekyo Sharingan! He was looking forward to it!

He wasn't comfortable leaving it to others!

"Invite them directly to my place."

Raijin gave the order directly.

After waiting for about ten minutes, the middle-aged man who had come to Konoha last time arrived.

Upon seeing Raijin, the middle-aged man immediately took out a scroll.

Raijin formed the special hand seals, releasing chakra to open the scroll.

The clear lines of text on it excited Raijin.

The Sky Ninja!

They had been found!
