**Chapter 41: Did They or Didn't They?**
The next day, in the crew's photography office.
"Was it you last night?"
Darius Woski, the head of the photography team, lit a cigarette and shot a dissatisfied glance at the large man sitting in front of him.
"Hehe, boss!"
Alexander, holding a lighter, eagerly lit the cigarette.
"Go on, I'm asking you, was it you last night?"
Darius asked.
"It wasn't me. I took some cold medicine last night and was feeling dizzy, so I just slept in the dormitory."
Alexander insisted.
"You were in the dormitory all night?"
"Yes!"
"But I went to your dormitory last night and no one was there?"
"Boss, you really went?"
"Of course. Do you think I'm lying to you?"
Darius said darkly.
"Well, I might have taken too many cold pills and was out cold, didn't hear you knocking. You know cold medicine has a sedative component."
Alexander explained.
"Bullshit!"
"No bullshit!"
Alexander held his backside, defending himself.
"I…"
Darius scratched his forehead and then slammed the table heavily. "Alexander, if you went, just admit it. No one's going to punish you for it. Why are you hiding it?"
"But I really didn't go to the workshop. It's so dark there; why would I go there at night?"
Alexander said seriously.
Darius chuckled. "Did I even mention the workshop?"
"Uh…"
Alexander was momentarily stunned and blinked. "I heard someone mention it. They said Richard and Gwyneth were dating in the workshop last night and someone saw them. Hehe, they were so careless."
"Lying, keep lying. Only four people in the crew know about this, no, five including you. Where did you hear this from? Tell me, that person must be a voyeur."
"Well… I heard it in the bathroom. Someone next door was on the phone, and I overheard."
Bang~
Darius slammed the table again. "Still lying. You just don't want to admit it, right?"
"I didn't see anything, so how can I admit it?"
Alexander shrugged, looking aggrieved.
"You~"
Darius's finger trembled, suddenly his face changed. He clutched his chest and slumped into his chair, frothing at the mouth.
"Boss! Boss, what's wrong?"
Alexander shouted loudly.
Darius remained motionless.
"Boss, don't die, okay? I admit it. It was me last night. I went to the workshop to watch Richard practice boxing and happened to see those two in that…"
Before he could finish, the boss revived.
"It would've been better if you admitted it earlier. Where's the videotape? Bring it out!"
Darius said, his face dark.
"No, no videotape. Well, actually, I do have one. I'll get it for you right away."
Seeing the boss clutching his chest again, Alexander hurriedly rummaged through his backpack and pulled out a tape. "The workshop was too dark, and the distance was too far, so I didn't capture much."
"Hmph!"
Darius glared at him and shouted inside, "Bill, get the tape."
Creak~
The door to the next room opened, and Bill Copson, the producer, walked out. "Darius, your acting skills have really improved."
"It's okay. Watching them often, I picked up a few things myself."
Darius smiled and put the tape into the camera, playing it back.
The footage was indeed very blurry, with only a yellowish light strip, a swinging tire swing, and two indistinct figures entangled together, with their faces completely obscured.
"This is what you were hiding?"
Darius looked at Alexander with disdain.
"Hehe, I was thinking, as long as the tape wasn't shown, you wouldn't know who was peeping."
"Bullshit. With those sneezes and clumsy running, do you think Richard didn't notice? He just couldn't be bothered to find you."
Darius scolded.
"Really? I thought I ran quite fast."
Alexander scratched his head.
"Cough. Alexander, remember, whatever you saw last night, keep it to yourself. They were rehearsing, not doing anything else. Got it?"
Producer Copson said seriously.
"Understood completely!"
Alexander nodded.
"Good!"
Producer Copson took the tape and left.
"You, always causing trouble. I should have known better than to bring you onto the team."
Darius grumbled.
"Hehe, boss, that won't do. I'm a key member of the photography team. Without me, how would you slack off?"
"Get lost. Who's slacking off?!"
"Alright, I'm leaving!"
Alexander tossed his head and dashed out.
"Stop! Come back!"
Darius shouted darkly.
"Boss, is there anything else?"
Alexander stood straight in front of the desk.
Darius lit a cigarette, coughed a couple of times, and asked lightly, "What did you see last night?"
"What?"
Alexander blinked.
Darius gave him an annoyed look. "What were they doing on the tire swing? The footage is too blurry to see clearly."
"They were rehearsing!"
Alexander said seriously.
"Don't give me that nonsense. I'm asking you, did they or didn't they?"
Darius raised an eyebrow.
"Hehe, boss, you're so creepy."
"…"
Darius clutched his chest again.
"Okay, okay, I'll tell you. Based on my analysis, it should be a no."
"Whether there was or wasn't, just say it. What's with your analysis?"
Darius said irritably.
"Well, it was a bit far, and they were wrapped in a blanket. I only saw them kissing, the blanket moving, and their hands doing this and that…"
"Go away. Why are you touching me?!"
Darius pushed him away.
"I just wanted to reenact the scene for you."
Alexander shrugged.
"No need!"
Darius patted his clothes. "Alexander, starting tomorrow, you don't need to stay with the crew."
"What?!"
Alexander was shocked. "Boss, you just said there wouldn't be any punishment. Why are you kicking me out?"
"I didn't say I'm kicking you out. The external shooting team needs someone, and the crew is transferring you there. The pay is better there."
Darius explained.
"I don't want to go. I want to stay here."
"You have to go. You violated the crew's confidentiality terms. According to the rules, you should be fired. Considering your good attitude and that neither Richard nor Gwyneth pressed charges, we're just changing your position. Don't complain."
"Must I go?"
Alexander said, looking dejected.
"Yes!"
"Alright then."
Alexander nodded.
"Remember, Alexander, if you want to work in the crew, keep your mouth and eyes in check. Don't ask what you shouldn't, don't say what you shouldn't, and don't look at what you shouldn't. There's too much going on and too much privacy in the crew. If you can't manage yourself, next time it won't be just a change of position."
Darius admonished.
"Got it!"
Alexander waved and left dejectedly.
"Ah, really can't leave people at ease."
Darius shook his head.
