"You're welcome!" Professor Oak waved at the mother and daughter.
"Oh, right! Please pass this report to Professor Juniper!" Oak handed the documents to the mother.
"Hilda! We're about to leave!" The mother called out to Hilda.
"Hehhhh! But I don't want to go yet!" Hilda hugged the adorable Growlithe, who was sticking its tongue out.
"Who said we're going home? We're going to the big city to have fun!"
"Really?!"
"Have I ever lied to you?"
"Yay!"
Oak chuckled at Hilda's cuteness and then returned to his work.
As Hilda stood up, ready to leave, she noticed something. "AHHH! IS THAT?!!"
Both Oak and the mother turned their heads in confusion to look at Hilda.
Hilda picked up a photo and looked at Oak.
"I-Is this a picture of Red when he was little?!" Hilda showed the photo to Oak.
The picture had been taken during a summer camp, where many kids from different regions had gathered.
In the photo, Red wasn't wearing his hat, dressed in a black T-shirt and shorts, standing to the right of Leaf, with Blue on the left.
...and there was a girl with honey-brown hair awkwardly standing next to Red.
"Oh, right! That was taken during summer camp," Oak recalled the memory.
"Really?! Why didn't you take me there back then, mom!!" Hilda turned to her mother.

"Hilda, you seem a little too obsessed with this boy Red, don't you think?"

The Magnezones began preparing for their next attack with powerful thunderbolts.
"KYAAA!!" Zero2hero clung to Billy's head, making it hard for Billy to move.
"EVERYONE, FALL BACK! LET MY RAICHU HANDLE THIS!" Surge commanded, then gave orders to Raichu.
Raichu nodded, stepping in front of the Magnezones and Magnemites.
The Magnemites launched their attacks, aiming at Raichu.
However, the thunderbolt attacks from both Magnemites and Magnezones didn't damage Raichu. In fact, they were absorbed!
"Raichu! Iron Tail!"
Raichu jumped up, its tail glowing silver, and struck the Magnemites and Magnezones.
Both Pokémon were knocked back, and Surge seized the moment to shout to everyone.
"RUN QUICKLY! I WON'T LET ANYONE GET HURT!"
Hearing this, everyone ran with all their strength, including Zero2hero.
Surge then threw a smoke bomb at the Magnezone group to blind them, retrieved Raichu, and followed after the others.
"WHICH WAY DO WE GO?!" A man ran up to Surge and asked.
Surge pulled out a map and examined it closely.
"OH NO!! THEY'RE CHASING US!!!" Billy screamed, pointing at the Magnemites.
The situation was critical. Surge thought for a moment, then shouted to the group:
"WE'RE HEADING TO THE WAREHOUSE AREA!"
"The warehouse? Why the warehouse?!"
"JUST FOLLOW ORDER, YOU IDIOTS!"
So they ran. Leaf and Misty, being girls, couldn't keep up as well and started to tire.
Surge noticed both of them slowing down and hoisted them onto his shoulders, continuing to run.
"WHAT THE—?! YOU'RE SO STRONG!" Misty exclaimed in shock as Surge carried both of them without breaking a sweat.
"I'm not called Lieutenant for nothing!"
Magnemites fired electricity everywhere; some people were hit, but thanks to their rubber coats, they were partially protected.
But Zero2hero wasn't so lucky.
"AGHH AHHH OUUHH IHHH!!"
He kept screaming every time his butt got shocked.
Because of his yelling, the other nine people felt even more panicked.
"Lieutenant! Up ahead!" Someone pointed forward.
It was another group of Magnemites!
"I'll take care of this!" Leaf said, pulling out a Poké Ball to summon Nidorina.
"Double Kick!"
Nidorina jumped up and kicked one of the Magnemites, then followed up with another powerful kick, sending the Magnemite flying back into the others.
"Well done, little frog!"
Before Surge could finish his compliment, a loud explosion erupted nearby, startling everyone.
Voltorb and Electrode?! They showed up too?!
"This is getting intense; I didn't expect it to be this dangerous here," Surge grimaced.
It had only been a few days since the power plant was shut down, and the Pokémon were already so active…
The Voltorbs glanced at them and prepared to attack.
"BE CAREFUL, IT'S ABOUT TO USE SONIC BOOM!"
"Sonic what—AGHHHH, MY EAR!!" Zero2hero rolled around, clutching his ear.
The rubber oufit was incredibly handy, protecting against both sound and electricity.
"GO, ELECTRODE!" Major Surge summoned his Pokémon.
An Electrode faced off against numerous Voltorbs and other Electrode! Who would win?
"Self-destruct!"
Well, now we know who's winning…
The powerful explosion blasted away all the Voltorbs and Electrode, inadvertently halting the Magnemites.
"KEEP RUNNING!!" Lieutenant Surge picked up his fainted Electrode and turned to the others.
They all continued to run...
A few minutes later...
"HUFF HUFF PUFF," everyone was out of breath and lying down to rest.
They were in the warehouse, and it was safer than they had anticipated.
"How did you know this place was safe?" Misty asked, opening a bottle of water.
"It's my city, I have to know everything around here," Surge replied, taking a sip of beer.
...Are you really drinking beer right now?
Meanwhile, Billy sprayed medicine on Zero2hero, who was still under the effects of paralysis.
But even after several tries, the effect hadn't worn off.
"Ạkxoexmslclscjwmiks."
"Strange?! Why hasn't it worn off yet??"
So, Billy slapped Zero2hero on the cheek, and the spasms stopped immediately.
"...I should have used my hand sooner."
"ALRIGHT, EVERYONE! TAKE A BREAK, THEN WE'LL DISCUSS OUR NEXT PLAN!" Surge announced to the group.
Leaf sat down with a sigh and drank a few more bottles of water.
"I didn't expect it to be more dangerous than I thought. I should have invited Brock and Red along."
Misty was even worse off; although she had many strong Pokémon but they were all Water-type, which made her quite useless in this situation.
The group sighed and continued to rest.
Somewhere in the power plant,
Magnemites and Magnezones were easily defeated by a powerful tail.
"Many Magnemites and even a Magnezone; Zapdos is really here."
No one else but Brock.
He and Steelix looked around and pulled out the power plant's map.
As he was examining it, a Voltorb suddenly appeared to attack.
But before it could do anything, Steelix slammed it into the wall, knocking it out on the spot.
"I can't let Team Rocket catch Zapdos; it's too dangerous!"
With that, Brock continued on.
Meanwhile, somewhere else...

Red and a Magnemite stared at each other.
Red pointed to the right, and the Magnemite nodded.
Seeing this, Red thanked it and moved on.
Suddenly, a Voltorb appeared, ready to attack Red.
But before it could act, Red threw some food at it, causing it to stop and look at the food instead.

"..."
They both stood in silence as the Voltorb devoured the food and then left.
At that moment, Red had only one thought.
