The place they were at was still dark because there was no electricity and because of the bad weather, so he really didn't want to stay at it for a longer time.

However, he had no choice but to stay in them because they were the only places to hide for a while or only the places that were available to stay at. That's why he doesn't like staying in such places any longer.
