Wedding

Three days have passed since Reagan gave his father and sister wolf helmets in preparation for the upcoming war. However, today Winterfell Castle is preparing to welcome the newest member of the family. The servants were running around making sure they did not forget anything for the preparation, and the cooks were working hard in the kitchen to prepare the most delicious food possible.

Outside the castle, along the wall, tents had been erected for the Lords to stay with their families. Wintertown residents were smiling as they went about their daily routines. There were Gaints, Children of the Forest, and the Free Folks, who can also be seen in the Wolfswood; they too were preparing themselves for the day. All of these people were bustling in preparation for the wedding that would take place later that evening. The wedding of Prince Reagan Stark and his betrothed, Lady Lyanna Mormont.

Inside the castle, Reagan was sitting in the shadow of his father as both of them were hearing the information brought by one of the Winter Wolves. As the man stopped what he was saying, Reagan said, "So they have started to send in their scouts, huh?"

"Yes, my prince." The soldier said this as he nodded in confirmation.

"The war is afoot. But going this instant and going tomorrow won't change any outcome." Brandon said, then, looking at the soldier, he said, "Edrick, take your squad and assist Lord Reed at the neck. The first blood will be drawn in the neck, and I don't want it to be ours."

"Yes, my king. I'll go there with my squad and assist Lord Reed to the best of my abilities." Edrick said it with conviction.

"Good. You may leave now." Brandon told Edrick, and he bowed to Brandon and Reagan in return as he left the solar.

Looking at Brandon, Reagan said, "Lord Reed, Lord Locke, and Lord Flint have sent their children to Winterfell as their representatives and for their protection."

"They have to defend their lands and we will ride tomorrow." Looking at his son, Brandon asked, "Where will you be riding?"

Looking at his father, Reagan replied, "I'll ride to the Stony Shore and the Rills, and after I have dealt with the Ironborn, I'll join the Neck."

"Alright. Then who will be going to the Neck?" Brandon asked his son and continued, "I suggest we send Lyanna and her division along with Alys to the neck."

Reagan raised an eyebrow at his father, and seeing that, Brandon smiled and said, "I know about that, but I don't know what you have decided to name them. And I hope to hear it before departing for the war."

Chuckling at his father's words, Reagan told him, "That division will be formerly introduced at the wedding feast."

"Your gift for her. I know." Brandon shook his head and continued, "Then it is decided. You will ride to the Stony Shore and the Rills; I'll ride to the Bite; and Lyanna will ride to the Neck."

"Alright. It's decided then; I'll inform Lyanna about the decision." Reagan told his father as he stood up from his seat and said, "Then I'll take my leave, father."

"You shall." Brandon told Reagan as he left the room.

Time passed and it was almost evening, Reagan was putting on the clothes for his wedding. As per his request to his father, his wedding clothes were black with grey lining to it, The sigil of house Stark was sewn to the chest and looking at the white cloak that was on the bed, Reagan thought, 'A cloak made out of the fur of a white hart that father hunted in the Wolfswood while I was in the smithy hammering away Frostbringer.'

"Thanks for the gift." Muttering out, he draped it over his shoulder. After he changed in to his wedding clothes, he left his room.

"You look handsome, brother." Alys told him as he exited his room, wearing a gray dress as per the instructions of their mother.

Kissing her forehead, Reagan told her as he offered his elbow to guide her, "You look beautiful too, my dear sister. Shall we?"

"We shall." Smiling at the complement that she got from her brother, she took his elbow and let him guide her to Godswood, where the ceremony would take place.

When they entered the Godswood, they saw all the lords, ladies, and their children. Some were talking among themselves, and some were silently standing, waiting for the arrival of the groom and bride. There were Ragnar and his family among the guests, along with a couple of Giants who had decided to stay at Winterfell for the rest of their lives as the guards. All of them had torches with them to light the Godswood in the night sky. They saw their father, Brandon, standing in front of the heart tree with a couple of Children of the Forest by his side.

When Reagan entered the Godswood with Lyanna, they all went silent as they watched the pair of siblings walk up to the heart tree. When they reached the heart tree, Alys separated from Reagan and went near their mother and the twins. Reagan, on the other hand, kneeled in front of the heart tree with his hands on his knees. And he started to pray for a bit: 'The Gods or the Higher beings who have made me reincarnate in this world, I thank you for giving me this opportunity, no matter the reason.'

As he rose from the kneeling position, Lyanna entered the Godswood, escorted by her father, Lord Jeor Mormont. She was wearing a white dress with a black cloak that represented her house. When they reached where Reagan was standing, Lyanna stood two steps away from him, and Jeor stood two steps behind his daughter.

Brandon, who has been standing in front of the heart tree, initiated the wedding ceremony as he asked out loud, "Who comes before the Old Gods this night?"

"Lyanna, of the House Mormont, comes here to be wed. A woman is grown, trueborn, and noble. She comes to beg the blessing of the gods. Who comes to claim her?" Jeor answered and asked back in a loud voice.

"Reagan, of House Stark, heir to the Winterfell and the Throne. Who gives her?" Stepping forward, Reagan asked.

"Jeor of the House Mormont, who is her father." Jeor answered.

Looking at Lyanna, Brandon asked, "Lady Lyanna, do you take this man?"

"I take this man," Lyanna replied.

Looking at Reagan, Brandon asked, "Prince Reagan, do you take this woman?"

"Aye, I take this woman." Reagan replied as he kept looking at Lyanna.

After Reagan said that, the bride and groom joined hands and kneeled before the heart tree so the Old Gods could witness their union. A moment is then spent in silent prayer by the entire wedding party. The bride and groom then rise, and Reagan takes off Lyanna's current cloak bearing the sigil of the House Mormont and wraps a new cloak around her shoulders bearing the sigil of the House Stark. No lines are spoken during any of this by the couple or the others present at the wedding.

"You are now husband and wife." Brandon said with a smile on his face, and the people who are present in Godswood applauded the newlywed couple.

The applause slowly died down as one of the Children of the Forest stepped forward from it's position and spoke up in old tongue. "In the name of the Old Gods, we have witnessed two people become one. As the one who brought us south of the wall and as one of our descendants, we present you this."

"Graaaaa." As she finished saying, a loud roar was heard from the Godswood, which spooked the guests, and everyone was ready to use the torches as their weapons. From the depths of the Godswood, a ferocious-looking black bear walked out, led by a couple of children. Leaning toward Lyanna, Reagan whispered to her, "This is the first gift for you."

Lyanna just nodded dumbly as she kept her eyes on the black bear. It slowly walked up to Lyanna and Reagan, then sniffed the air around them, and slowly, with it's snout, it touched Lyanna's right hand. Lyanna slowly patted the bear with her hand, and the bear started to purr out in contentment.

Turning to the guests, Reagan told them, "Everyone, do not worry. The bear is a gift to Lyanna from the children."

Since Brandon knew about this beforehand, he ordered out "Everyone. Let's go to the Great Hall for the feast and give the newlyweds some alone time."

Since there was no arguing with the King himself, the guests left one by one until Reagan, Lyanna, and the bear were left in the Godswood. Looking at Lyanna, Reagan said, "Did you forget my words?"

"No, I was just surprised." Lyanna told him as she was rubbing the chin of the bear.

Smiling at her, Reagan asked, "What are you going to name her?"

"Yrsa. That will be her name." Lyanna told him as she played with the fur of Yrsa.

"Good. That will do." Then, looking at Yrsa, he said, "Now go and play with Fenrir and the others."

"Grrrrr" Growling out in agreement, Yrsa left for the den after giving Lyanna's hand a final lick.

"Thank you." Lyanna thanked him as they walked towards the Great Hall to participate in the wedding feast.

"You are welcome, my wife." Reagan replied with a dumb smile on his face.

When they entered the Great Hall through the main entrance, Lord Umber, who saw them first, shouted out loud, "THE BRIDE AND GROOM ARE HERE!!!"

"Woohooo!" The guests cheered for them as they walked to the head table to take their seats. As they are the center of attention today, they were given the seat of the King and Queen.

Sitting down on their seats with Brandon and Sarra sitting next to Reagan and Alys, Arya, and Artos sitting next to Lyanna, Reagan asked his father, "Have you told them yet?"

"No. Not yet. I'll announce it now, before the servants bring the alcohol, and you can give her the second gift after me." Brandon told his son.

Saying that to his son, Brandon stood up from his seat, which caused the rowdiness of the hall to die down slowly. When there was silence, Brandon told them, "I have something to inform you, my Lords. The Andal Kings have been sending scouts into the Neck, the Rills, and the Bite. As you can see, Lord Reed, Lord Locke, and Lord Ryswell are not present here, and they have sent their children as their representatives. They didn't do it because of their disrespect for me or Reagan. They couldn't come because they are preparing for the war, and I want to take this moment to announce that the North will be riding to wage war against the Andal Kings!"

"TO WAR!!" The lords all shouted out in delight, and even the heirs were a little bit excited to participate in the coming war.

Raising his hand, Brandon made them silent and said, "We will be riding with three armies going in different directions at dawn tomorrow. The first army led by your king will be heading to the Bite, the second army led by your prince will be heading to the Rills, and the third army led by your two princesses will be heading to the Neck."

The lords nodded at that and some were surprised at the fact that the newlywed couple will be riding to war first thing tomorrow, but they understood why the couple have to go. Reagan, who knew that it was his time, stood up as his father sat down and said, "Lords and Ladies. I have to announce the formation of a new division of army in the North. This division will be led by my wife, Lady Lyanna Stark, and my sister, Princess Alys Stark. This new division will only consist of warrior women of age, and they will be known as the Valkyries."

"To the North! To the King! To the Valkyries!!!!" One of the women among the guests shouted out, and the other women joined in on it as it was a welcome news to them. And at the forefront of this cheering were the women who are part of the Winter Wolves.

Floki, who was among the guests, widened his eyes as he heard the name given by Reagan: 'He truly is the Apostle of God. To know the name of the Valkyries, who will bring the warriors to the Hall of Gods!!'
