As soon as they crossed the border of the Land of Always Winter, Reagan told them, "Go to the Wall as fast as you can, do not stop for anything, and do not attack the Wildlings."
Owen looked confused about the order given by Reagan and asked him, "Where are you going?"
Smiling at Owen, Reagan said, "I am going to find our old allies that have come here after the invasion of the Andalos."
Owen and some of the rangers who were from the noble families widened their eyes in recognition. Seeing that they understood what he was implying, he told them, "You guys, go ahead; I have to try and persuade them as fast as possible. Now, off you go."
Nodding at Reagan, Owen led his team of rangers in the direction of the wall at rapid speed while keeping in mind the orders they were given by Reagan. As they left the area, Reagan jumped down from Fenrir, and looking up into the skies, he said out loud in the language of the Children, "ᛁ ᚴᚾᛟᚹ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚨᚱᛖ ᚺᛁᛞᛁᚾᚷ ᚢᛈ ᛁᚾ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛏᚱᛖᛖ. ᛈᛚᛖᚨᛋᛖ ᚲᛟᛗᛖ ᛞᛟᚹᚾ, ᛁ ᚲᛟᛗᛖ ᛁᚾ ᛈᛖᚨᚲᛖ.
I know you are hiding up in the tree. Please come down; I come in peace."
There was silence for a few seconds, and suddenly a being the size of a child fell from the tree in a graceful manner in front of Reagan and looked at him and Fenrir curiously. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, the being asked Reagan, "ᚺᛟᚹ ᛞᛟ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚴᚾᛟᚹ ᛟᚢᚱ ᛚᚨᚾᚷᚢᚨᚷᛖ? ᛏᚺᛖ ᛟᚾᛚᚤ ᛟᚾᛖ ᚹᚺᛟ ᚴᚾᛟᚹ ᚺᛟᚹ ᛏᛟ ᛋᛈᛖᚨᚴ ᛟᚢᚱ ᛚᚨᚾᚷᚢᚨᚷᛖ ᛁᛋ ᛒᚱᚨᚾᛞᛟᚾ.
How do you know our language? The only one who knows how to speak our language is Brandon."
Smiling at the question of the children in front of him, he replied, "ᛁ ᚨᛗ ᚨ ᛞᛖᛋᚲᛖᚾᛞᚨᚾᛏ ᛟᚠ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛒᚱᚨᚾᛞᛟᚾ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚨᚱᛖ ᛏᚨᛚᚴᛁᚾᚷ ᚨᛒᛟᚢᛏ. ᛗᚤ ᚾᚨᛗᛖ ᛁᛋ ᚱᛖᚨᚷᚨᚾ, ᚨᚾᛞ ᛁ ᚺᚨᚡᛖ ᚲᛟᛗᛖ ᚺᛖᚱᛖ ᛁᚾ ᛋᛖᚨᚱᚲᚺ ᛟᚠ ᚤᛟᚢᚱ ᚴᛁᚾᛞ ᚨᚾᛞ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚷᛁᚨᚾᛏᛋ ᛏᛟ ᛁᚾᚡᛁ.
I am a descendant of the Brandon you are talking about. My name is Reagan, and I have come here in search of your kind and the Giants to invite you to live south of the Wall, near Winterfell."
The Children looked at him while tilting it's head a bit to the side and asked, "ᛖᚡᛖᚾ ᛁᚠ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚨᚱᛖ ᚨ ᛞᛖᛋᚲᛖᚾᛞᚨᚾᛏ ᛟᚠ ᛒᚱᚨᚾᛞᛟᚾ, ᚤᛟᚢ ᛋᚺᛟᚢᛚᛞ ᚾᛟᛏ ᚢᚾᛞᛖᚱᛋᛏᚨᚾᛞ ᛟᚢᚱ ᛚᚨᚾᚷᚢᚨᚷᛖ ᚨᛋ ᚺᛖ ᚺᚨᛞ ᛞᛁᛋᚨᛈᛈᛖᚨᚱᛖᛞ ᛚᛟᚾᚷ ᚨᚷᛟ ᛁᚾ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛚᚨᚾᛞ ᛟᚠ ᚨᛚᚹᚨᚤᛋ ᚹᛁᚾᛏ?
Even if you are a descendant of Brandon, you should not understand our language, as he disappeared long ago in the Land of Always Winter. So tell me, how did you learn our language?"
Reagan sighed and was thinking of a way not to mention his power of psychometry. That's when Fenrir growled out and started to increase his size. The eyes of the children went wide, seeing Fenrir grow taller inch by inch right in front of its eyes.
"ᚠᛖᚾᚱᛁᚱ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚷᚱᛖᚨᛏ ᚹᛟᛚᚠ! (Fenrir the Great Wolf!)" The Children muttered under it's breath and looked between Reagan and Fenrir alternatively and asked Reagan, "ᚨᚱᛖ ᚤᛟᚢ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛈᚨᚱᛏᚾᛖᚱ ᛟᚠ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚷᚱᛖᚨᛏ ᚹᛟᛚᚠ, ᛋᛖᚾᛏ ᛒᚤ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚷᛟᛞᛋ ᛏᛟ ᚠᛁᚷᚺᛏ ᚨᚷᚨᛁᚾᛋᛏ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚷᚱᛖᚨᛏ ᛟᛏᚺᛖᚱ?
(Are you the partner of The Great Wolf, sent by the Gods to fight against the Great Other?)"
Reagan raised his eyes at that question and thought to himself, 'I was reborn here with the help of the Akashic Records. And they were the ones who gave me the powers and Fenrir. So is this some kind of narrative that they are creating to incorporate me and Fenrir into this world? Does that mean Jörmungandr will also be born in this world in the coming years, or is it already born?" Shaking his head in discomfort, he thought again. 'This is the second time I am forgetting what I was thinking a second ago. There is something at play here, like a 5th-dimensional entity.'
Sighing, Reagan just nodded at the Children, and the eyes of the Children started to sparkle in hope and excitement. "ᛗᚤ ᚾᚨᛗᛖ ᛁᛋ ᛚᛖᚨᚠ, ᛟ ᚱᛁᛞᛖᚱ ᛟᚠ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚷᚱᛖᚨᛏ ᚹᛟᛚᚠ. ᛁ ᚨᚾᛞ ᛗᚤ ᚴᛁᚾ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᚠᛟᛚᛚᛟᚹ ᚤᛟᚢ ᛏᛟ ᚹᚺᛖᚱᛖ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚹᚨᚾᛏ ᚢᛋ ᛏᛟ ᚷᛟᚨᚾᛏᛋ ᛏᚺᛖᚤ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᚨᛚᛋᛟ ᚠᛟᛚᛚᛟᚹ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚹᛁᛏᚺᛟᚢᛏ ᚨᚾ.
My name is Leaf, O Rider of the Great Wolf. I and my kin will follow you to where you want us to go. If you show the Great Wolf to the Giants, they will also follow you without any complaint. After all, you are the apostle of the gods.""
That surprised Reagan. 'I thought that I had to negotiate with them to some extent to bring them back to the North.' Looking at Fenrir, he smiled and continued his thoughts. 'It seems that the story from that book does have some meaning to the Children of the Forest and the Giants, lucky me.'
Leaf led Reagan and Fenrir to the place where the rest of the children were resting. As soon as Leaf told them about Fenrir and Reagan, they all had the same sparkles Leaf had when she understood that Fenrir could change his size at will.
Seeing them all agree to come with him to Winterfell, he asked Leaf, "ᛚᛖᚨᚠ, ᛞᛟ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚴᚾᛟᚹ ᚹᚺᛖᚱᛖ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚷᛁᚨᚾᛏᛋ ᚨᚱᛖ ᛚᛟᚲᚨᛏᛖᛞ?
(Leaf, do you know where the Giants are located?"
"ᛏᚺᛖᚤ ᛚᛁᚡᛖ ᛁᚾ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛗᛟᚢᚾᛏᚨᛁᚾ ᚲᚨᚡᛖᛋ. ᚹᛖ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᚺᚨᚡᛖ ᛏᛟ ᛏᚱᚨᚡᛖᛚ ᚠᛟᚱ ᚨᚾ ᚺᛟᚢᚱ ᛏᛟ ᚱᛖᚨᚲᚺ ᛏᚺᛖᛗ ᚠᚱᛟᛗ ᚺᛖᚱᛖ.
They live in the mountain caves. We will have to travel for an hour to reach them from here." Leaf replied to him.
"ᚨᛚᚱᛁᚷᚺᛏ, ᛚᛖᚨᛞ ᛗᛖ ᛏᛟ ᛏᚺᛖᛗ ᛏᚺᛖᚾ.
(Alright, lead me to them then." Reagan requested Leaf, and she agreed to do so by nodding her head.
With their next destination decided, Leaf led the fifty children of the forest to Reagan, where the Giants were living. On their way, the children asked him so many questions, and the most frequently asked questions were about Fenrir and requests from them to ride the Great Wolf. Fenrir was alright with them when Reagan asked him about letting the children climb over his back and ride him through the whole journey.
Exactly an hour later, they reached the base of a mountain where there were caves littered around, and at the entrance of the cave, he noticed some giants and wildlings speaking with each other. Curious, Reagan led the children on Fenrir towards them, letting the Giants and the Wildlings know about their presence.
When they noticed him and Fenrir, the Giants looked at them curiously, and the Wildling looked at them warily. Raising one hand, he greeted them in the old tongue that he had studied over the years. {AN: I am using Old English as Old Tongue. I tried to search for an English-to-Old Tongue translator, but it's not effective.}
"Wēl metten! (Hello there!)"
The Giants were the ones who responded to his greetings, "Hāl, fremde. Hwæt dydest þu on ūre eard mid þǣm sciþerfolc?
(Hello stranger. What are you doing in our territory with the squirrel people?"
"Ic eom her cuman to forþian þæt þa Gigan to þæs Walla oferþringan mid me and on þam lande suð of þam Walle under cyninge Starkes rīce libban.
(I have come here to propose that the Giants cross the Wall with me and live in lands south of the Wall under the rule of King Stark.)"
"Þu eart án of þām eac þonne? Þā þe hæfdon þā oðre cyningas gebendan heora cneowas to þǣm Cyninge Stark, ān be ānne, forþon nǣs onfēng buton diplomatia?
(You are one of them too, then? The ones who have been making the other clans bend their knees to the King Stark one by one, without showing force but diplomacy?" The Wildling with the bronze armour and weapon spoke up instead of the Giant, who asked Reagan.
Looking at the man, Reagan replied, "Gēa, þū miht secgan þæt hit is mīn geþoht to lǣtan þā Cnihtas þæs Wuda, Gēantas and þā Frēo Folc beon ālǣt to libban sūð of þǣm Weall, gehealded fram þǣm fēondum on þǣm Lande Æfre Wintres.
(Yes, you could say that it is my idea to let the Children of the Forest, Giants, and the Free Folk be allowed to live south of the Wall, protected from the enemies in the Land of Always Winter.)"
"Þu eart se Cyning Reagan, ridere of Fenrir. And ic gelīefe þæt se blæc wulf behindan þe is se Fenrir?
So you are Prince Reagan, rider of Fenrir. And I believe that the black wolf behind you is the Fenrir." The man said this while looking at Fenrir.
The Giants who heard it looked between the Free Folk man, Reagan, Fenrir, and the Children of the Forest alternatively and asked Reagan, "Is it hit so? Is hit soþlice se Mægene Wulf of þǣm leahtrum?
Is it true? Is it really the Great Wolf from the legends?"
Reagan didn't reply to the question; instead, he looked back at Fenrir and said, "Show them, buddy."
"Grrrr" Growling out of agreement, Fenrir started to increase his full size to twenty meters in height and forty-five meters in length. The Giants and the Free Folks who were present gulped down in fear and awe at seeing the magnificent creature in front of them. The Giant, who had asked Reagan questions, knelt on one knee and declared, "Þurh þā naman þāra Ealdgāsta, ic, Hun Wen Hun Dong, beþeah mine and mine cyninges leofe to Æþeling Reagan Stark.
(By the names of the Old Gods, I, Hun Wen Hun Dong, pledge mine and my clan's loyalty to Prince Reagan Stark.)"
The other Giants followed suit and pledged their loyalty to Reagan; there were about eleven or so giants in the clan of Hun Wen Hun Dong. Reagan nodded at each of them in acknowledgement and said, "Arise, my freondas. (Arise, my friends.)"
When the giants stood up, Fenrir started to shrink back to the previous size, and Reagan, looking at the Free Folk man, asked, "Willt thou also benden thy knee and join me to Wendan south of the Weall?
(Will you also bend the knee and join me to go south of the wall?""
The man slowly nodded his head and spoke up, "Mīn cyning, þā Thennas, willaþ bēon on ðīnne hǣð, forþon we gelyfaþ on þǣre spell of Fenrir þǣm Mǣran Wulf. Ac, þū scealt witan þæt þær is cyning on þissum lande nū and hē hæfð gefēon þǣre mǣre cyningas to forðfēran beforan þǣm Walle.
My clan, the Thenns, will bend our knees to you because we believe in the story of Fenrir the Great Wolf. But you should know that there is a king in this land now, and he has gotten the support of many clans to go beyond the wall.""
Squinting his eye, he asked the Thenns, "What is the name of the King?"
"Cyning Ragnar, þæt is his nama. (King Ragnar, that is his name.)"
