Plans For The Future  

Before I could work myself into a rage, a second piece of cake appeared in front of me. Letting out a low grunt, I dug into it, staring at the pastry as if someone was going to steal this slice, too.

 

Silence reigned around the table as my mates started to tentatively eat the meal in front of them. I let out a low chuckle at just how cautious they were being. "It's not all that easy to eat alien food, is it?" I murmured low under my breath.

 

Looking out of the corner of my eye at Ba'dqeel, I saw him pause his movements for a moment before he continued to eat. "No, it's not," he agreed. "But the food is delicious."

 

Once again, I hummed in agreement. "To me, this was one of those special meals that I might only have two or three times a year on special occasions. I think for that reason alone, it was always my favorite."
