Do You Trust Us?  

A soft voice pulled me out of the darkness surrounding me. My entire body ached like I had been hit by a truck, only for it to back up and hit me a few more times before finally giving up and driving away.

 

I tried to open my eyes, but it seemed like they were cemented shut to the point where even my lashes refused to move an inch. However, they weren't the only thing that seemed to be glued shut. I cracked my lips just a bit to be able to lick them, but that only caused them to start bleeding profoundly.

 

"Water," I gasped; my lungs and throat hurt as I tried to speak. Hopefully, whoever was in the room with me would understand. I wasn't entirely sure if I could repeat myself.

 

I tried to think about what had caused me to feel like this, but my mind was pulling a complete blank. Of course, it didn't help that my head was absolutely pounding, either.
