Upon hearing Xuanzang's words, the King hesitated for a moment; even he had never heard that one's heart and liver could cure diseases, and moreover, he had eaten so many children's hearts and livers by now
and had not found his illness improving.
"Your Majesty must not be deceived by this demon path, lest you commit a grave mistake,"
Xuanzang looked meaningfully at the King and said.
"How dare you! I am the National Abbot personally appointed by His Majesty, and you dare to call me a demon path,"
the Daoist raised in anger, bellowing loudly.
Then, turning to the Foolish Ruler, he said, "Your Majesty, this Demon Monk is recklessly audacious. He calls me a demon path, which is clearly a veiled insult to Your Majesty, branding you as a Foolish Ruler, a crime of immense disloyalty."
