Hirvan's heart pounded furiously in his chest, his mind filled with alarm while his body tensed up as he was yanked off the ground. His mouth and nose were blocked by a hand, stopping his breathing for a second. His panic flared, Instinctively, he struggled against the iron grip that held him aloft. He tried to twist his body, wanting to free himself, but a voice whispered in his ear.
"We need to talk. Meet me in the haunted house."
Hearing the voice, Hirvan's body, tensed from the fear, suddenly relaxed. The tension drained out of his muscles. He knew the voice and even missed it. But before he could turn his head, the person spoke again.
"They are coming."
With that Lu Hanbing put down Hirvan on the ground gently and loosened his grip on his mouth. Hirvan staggered slightly as his feet touched the ground. He turned his head, but Lu Hanbing was already gone, vanishing behind the building.
Hirvan stood there stunned.
