Thor Arrives

Not long ago, the All-Father Odin was planning to pass on the throne to his son, Thor, the God of Thunder.

Unexpectedly, during the coronation ceremony, it was discovered that the Frost Giants had invaded the weapons vault and tried to steal the Casket of Ancient Winters, but were killed by the Destroyer, the guardian of Asgard's treasures.

Of course, Thor was not happy about the sabotage of his own coronation ceremony. He declared that the Frost Giants had broken the peace agreement and wanted to attack Jotunheim, their home, to retaliate.

Odin said, "These are the thoughts of a warrior, not the thoughts of a king. These actions are the work of a few Frost Giants and are not worth starting a war over."

However, the young and headstrong Thor would not listen. The father and son quarreled and parted on bad terms.

After that, Thor called his brother Loki and a group of comrades—Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, and Sif—to sneak into Jotunheim.

From Asgard to the Nine Realms, one must pass the Bifrost Bridge. Heimdall, the guardian of the Bifrost, can observe all of the realms with his all-seeing eyes. As long as he wants to see and hear, he knows everything.

This time, an enemy had sneaked in under his nose. Strictly speaking, it was his dereliction of duty. Therefore, he agreed to Thor's plan, eager to find out how the Frost Giants had slipped past his watchful gaze.

Thor and his companions passed through the Bifrost and teleported to Jotunheim. They caused a commotion and fought the Frost Giant King directly. But even the mighty God of Thunder couldn't withstand the overwhelming numbers of the Frost Giants in their own territory. Soon, they were surrounded by countless giant beasts and Frost Giants.

At the last moment, Odin descended on Sleipnir and rescued them, allowing them to escape. But this act of aggression angered the Frost Giant King, and a war between the two worlds was imminent.

Finally, to ease the tension between the two realms, Odin issued a decree:

"Thor, the God of Thunder, disobeyed the king's orders, acted recklessly, and led his companions into needless battle and destruction. He is unworthy of being king. Now he is stripped of his divine power and exiled to Earth!"

However, since Thor was still his son, Odin couldn't truly abandon him. He also threw Mjolnir down to Earth, not far from where Thor landed. He cast a spell on the hammer: "Whosoever holds this hammer, if they be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."

As long as Thor could prove himself worthy, he could lift Mjolnir again, regain his divine power, and return as the God of Thunder.

---

Alex recalled this story and wondered if his presence would cause a butterfly effect on Asgard at the other end of the universe. At least, not until he came into contact with Thor.

The small town in the Western region was a typical desert town. Tumbleweeds rolled through the streets, adding a touch of life to the desolate landscape. The town was clean, devoid of the hustle and bustle of larger cities, and still retained the cowboy charm of the 19th century.

As Alex entered the town, he heard a loud commotion. A tall, handsome man with long blond hair was running out of a small hospital in a hospital gown, with several nurses and security guards chasing after him.

This had to be Thor!

When he landed, he had been hit by the astrophysicist Jane Foster's car, knocked unconscious, and taken to the hospital for treatment. After waking up, Thor caused a ruckus in the hospital. The doctors and security guards couldn't hold him down, and he ran out. Although he had no divine power now, his muscles were not just for show. Plus, with over a thousand years of combat experience, ordinary people couldn't stop him.

"Hey, buddy, have you seen a hammer?" Thor asked Alex directly.

Alex frowned. No wonder Jane and the others thought he was crazy. Even a normal person wouldn't approach someone on the street and ask about a hammer while wearing a hospital gown.

"Why don't you deal with this situation first?" Alex suggested.

Thor, disdainful, replied, "These mortals are no match for me. I just don't want to hurt them."

At this point, the nurses and security guards had caught up and surrounded Thor, trying to subdue him.

Alex quickly intervened, "He's my friend. He got drunk last night and woke up in the hospital, a bit disoriented. I apologize on his behalf."

"But the woman who brought him in said he was hit by a car."

"Have you ever seen someone hit by a car still able to move like this?" Alex countered.

The group agreed. The security guards couldn't even hold him down. He didn't look injured.

A young nurse said, "But the medical bills haven't been paid yet."

"I'll cover his expenses," Alex said, handing over a roll of hundred-dollar bills.

The nurse took the money and said, "Sir, you'd better bring your friend back for a check-up. Just in case."

"He doesn't seem like he has any internal injuries. You couldn't catch him if he did."

Thor, striking a few muscular poses, made the nurse giggle. In the end, she accepted the payment and returned to the hospital.

Thor slapped Alex on the shoulder, "Thanks, man. I don't have any money here, and it would have been a hassle to deal with the medical expenses. When I return to Asgard, I'll repay you."

At that moment, a small RV sped into town, braking abruptly next to Thor and Alex. Alex recognized Jane Foster, her intern Darcy Lewis, and the old astrophysicist Erik Selvig. With such driving skills, no wonder Jane hit Thor twice in the original story.

Jane hurried out of the RV, "The hospital called and said you escaped. We'll cover your medical bills."

In the U.S., medical bills can be extremely expensive. Without insurance, a hospital visit can bankrupt an ordinary family. Many people without insurance would even struggle to say, "Don't call an ambulance..."

Jane assumed Thor wanted to escape to avoid the medical expenses.

"Thank you, pretty lady. But my friend has already covered my bills."

Darcy's eyes lit up, "What a handsome guy. Hi, I'm Darcy, this is my mentor Jane, and this is Erik."

Alex's tall, handsome appearance and kingly aura naturally attracted attention.

"Hello, my name is Alex."

Jane asked Thor, "Where do you live? We'll drive you back."

Thor said, "Your car won't make it. Take me to a bar. I want to drink."

"You were hit last night and just left the hospital. You shouldn't drink," Jane advised.

Alex added, "Jane, don't worry. With his physique, he'll be fine even if he gets hit ten times."

Thor laughed, "You have a point! How can we not celebrate with a drink when meeting new friends?"

Thor pulled Alex toward the bar, with Erik following naturally. Jane and Darcy were speechless. How could men become such fast friends over drinking?

The town was small, and the bar was just half a street away. As soon as Thor entered, he shouted, "Bartender, give us each a glass of your strongest drink!"

"How can one glass be enough? Make it ten each!" Alex added.

Thor's eyes gleamed. Who was this guy, more heroic than himself?

The bar served large draft beer mugs, nearly filled with a liter of vodka. Thor and Alex each took a mug, exchanged challenging glances, and downed their drinks in one go. Poor Professor Erik was already dizzy after drinking less than a third of his.

"Boom!"

Thor slammed the mug down, "Bartender, another round!"

Jane and Darcy looked on helplessly. Who were these crazy people? This was medieval behavior.

The bar owner hesitated, eyeing the two men warily. Were they here to cause trouble? Some strong local men stood up, ready to confront the newcomers. In a small town, everyone knew each other. Outsiders causing trouble would face united opposition.
