Cherflammen at a Glance

I. The Land of the Demons, Cherflammen

The land of the Demon race, Cherflammen, is a barren desert land. The place is almost dead, save for the few demon city-states that dotted its landscape, and the artificial gardens that grow around the nobles' homes.

Technology is on early modern/enlightenment era levels, with gunpowder, early machinery and devices featured prominently in demons' everyday lives. In warfare, each city-state answers to the Demon Lord, and an ordinary demon soldier is equipped with gunpowder weapon, complimented by a sword, halberd or dagger.

Demon society stresses the value of education and free-thinking. As such, they tend to hire the best teachers in every race and every world. They also have the 'Demon Conclave', which is actually a university in practice.

Like in Cherwind, the concept of marriage is non-existent, as well as the familial relations. Children from the same parents tend to form incestuous relationships. Inheritance is determined by the child that survived in the deadly 'Inheritance Duels', which is perfectly legal and acceptable in Demon societies.

II. Locations

The Blighted Lands

-a diseased forest located to the south of Cherflammen, bordering Chersea. It was said to be the territory of the 'Knights of Cassandra David' cult. There is a small detachment of the Demon Lord's soldiers guarding the crossing between Cherflammen and Chersea to its extreme limits.

The Saint's Tower

-the tower where Natasha, the Demon Saint, resides. An artificial lake, Antares, was built around its foundations. The place is famous for a grand library in its basement, which is said to house some of the world's forbidden books.

Orcdwelt

-a city-state to the west of Cherflammen, it is the home of Orcs and Ogres. Those people are great miners and construction workers for the Demon Lord.

Goblinhom

-home to the master engineers, the Goblins, Orcdwelt is to the northern borders of the Blighted Lands of the south.

Fangborough

-a city-state of the Vampires and Werewolves, this is where one of Cherflammen's greatest libraries are located, alongside the 'Demon Conclave'.

Helfan

-another city-state of the Vampires and Werewolves, Helfan serves as the main port of the land. There is a sizeable population of dwarves and humans in this place.

III. Miscellaneous

Inheritance Duel

-the Demon society's answer to the question about inheritance, the 'Inheritance Duel' is a brutal fight of children of the same parents for their properties or birthrights.
