1 Chapter 1: What they say.

What is love suppose to be? It's always a topic for us. Is it something that makes us all blind? The only thing that makes a hard stone into a fluffy pillow? It's something that makes us happy when we feel loved... It makes us feel special and unique. People even brag about the fact that they have girlfriends and boyfriends to their friends. Is love just meant to make us feel better? Maybe it's just to show off to our friends that we have someone in the palm of our hand.

I stare at the lovely couples walking the streets. I cringe at the fact that they love each other... Love. No one's gonna truly love you... The only reason that she or he didn't leave you is that he or she didn't find someone else better. That's what It has always been...

I sigh as I lose in thought. Looking at them, feeling happy and smiling, just walking freely. It makes me hate love more.

I once loved someone you know? I loved someone with all my heart but who would have thought that letting your heart out, someone will STAB it. Someone will crush it. Someone will break it to pieces as they leave you empty after they play with you.

"I love you!" I smile at the love of my life. He's the one that made my life somewhat toleratable.

"I love you too!" He smiles... He says he loves you, he says he wants you but it's only one part of you that he wants.

He helps me with my books. "Here let me help you! A pretty lady like you should be treated with respect" His smile made me fall even deeper for him.

But I was like a fly caught at a spider web. The more I try to escape the more I am trapped. Falling for his cheesy lines. Telling me that he'll never leave me and that he'll always be there for me.

"I'll never leave your side." He mutters in a comforting tone making me feel cared for. He never did leave me but he only did that so he can trap me more.

"Goodbye." His comforting tone disappeared into oblivion like the man in front of me wasn't the same man.

"I thought you loved me!? I gave my heart to you.."

....

It was silent, he looked then laughed. "I can't believe you fell for it. I NEVER LOVED YOU"

It came flashing back to me... All the things he said... all the I love yous, all the I care for you and all the hugs and kisses were nothing but a game for him... NOTHING BUT A GAME FOR YOU.

"I can't believe she believed it... His friend muttered. "Way to go our legendary heart breaker!" He cheered.

"Listen. I have so many women that I have in the palm of my hands. You were just too boring for me." His laughter grew louder amongst his friend. The pain... STAB STAB. Like knives stabbing your heart.

"But they said, love..." He interrupts me "Love breaks you. Now goodbye. Talking with you is a waste of my time."

"Hahaha! Rest in Peace!" "I can't believe that bitch believed it." "Ugh! Pathetic!" His friends muttered.

He walks away as I fell into the ground. The tears flowed like waterfalls.. He tricked me... My heart was shattered in two.

"I love you too!" Did he truly mean it...

"I'll help you!" Did he commit to it...

"I'll never leave you!" Did he do it.

No... He didn't.. those words that I thought he cherished THE WORDS THAT I THOUGHT HE MEANT. WE'RE ALL JUST LIES. NOTHING BUT SMOKE AND MIRRORS!

It is true... Those you love are the ones that can break your heart... The people who you trust and defend will betray you in the end...

Now I learned my lesson. I'll never love again. Never ever. I'll never ever be played by the people around me. I'll never ever fall for the same lines twice. Every man who comes towards me will get a big fat No served across their faces. I'll never become anyone's puppet never ever again!

Love makes you better they said. Love makes you happy they said. Love makes you whole they said. WHEN THEY CHANGED, THEY CHANGED FOR THE BETTER BUT WHEN WHAT HAPPENED TO ME? I CHANGED FOR THE WORST. I DIDN'T GET BETTER. I NEVER BECAME HAPPY. IT NEVER MADE ME WHOLE. IT BROKE ME... A BROKEN GLASS CRUSHED WITH ALL THE PIECES SCATTERED.

The lovely CEO is the one that will show them true happiness the novels say... The prince is the one that will show up to save you the fairy tales say. The handsome man is the one that will treat me right the tv shows say.

But reality told me that the one that I loved with all my heart is the one that will break me and my heart...

They were right...
