Baffled by the unexpected intrusion, I turned to stare at the alphas to find them watching me nervously. I stood quietly, observing their expressions and behavior. They didn't look like they wanted to murder me because if they did- they wouldn't do it with their bare hands. Well, at least most of them followed me. Except for Kim Seokjin, he broke into my house.
"On the count of three, you better give me a good reason-"
"I was curious! I wanted to know where my rival lived, so I got people to investigate. Honestly, I thought I'd find something important here, but it's just an old shed," Seokjin snapped, leaning against the wall with a displeased look. Seriously... does he even think when he speaks? How can someone be so disrespectful?
"S-shed?" I laughed at him sarcastically. He's getting on my nerves.
"Why would anyone call this a house? It's not even close to being a house- AHHHH! YAHHH!" Seokjin rudely rolled his eyes, but before he could finish his sentence- I kicked his sprained ankle hard, causing Seokjin to wince in pain. He grunted in discomfort as he leaned his body against the wall for support.
"What do you think you are?! You spoiled pig!" I bellowed in annoyance, grabbing onto his collar with all my might.
"You can't hurt a supreme-"
"I am also a supreme alpha! And you're standing right under my roof, so if you keep blabbing nonsense- I will make sure to murder you right in this shed and bury you in the backyard! No alphas in this room will dare to speak about it because they all want you dead anyways! Kim Seokjin- tsk... you surely don't want to die in a place like this, do you?!" I scoffed, yanking him around. Seokjin grew quiet and stared at me nervously. The room fell silent again, so I glanced around to find all the alphas watching me with an intimidated look on their faces. Dumbfounded, I turned back to find Seokjin gulping at me with his eyes wide open. I was just joking... Why are they so tense...?
"Hah- haha... just kidding... did I scare you?" I laughed, letting go of Seokjin, who slid onto the floor in relief. I awkwardly huff at the alphas. They really don't understand the joke, huh...? Ah... they ruin everything.
"My father will hear about this..." Seokjin murmured, causing me to snap my head in his direction in disbelief.
"YAH-" I raised my arm but abruptly stopped when I noticed the alphas tensing up again. Seokjin pressed his back against the wall and flinched in panic.
"Aish...," I whispered, dropping my fist and made my way into the living room. I grabbed a bottle of soju and crashed onto the couch in exhaustion. I'm so done with them...
"I know we have an important event to attend tomorrow, but- let's party!!!!!" Jiwoo howled, breaking the ice in the room, so the house buzzed with noises again. Someone plugged their phone into the old speakers and blasted music- so loud- I had to cover my ears in irritation.
Although they all hated each other, everyone was enjoying the moment. There are times when they act like a family, but the truth is they're just waiting for the right moment to attack. I can tell everyone was conscious of their surroundings. As carefree as they look, they're actually very cautious. Taehyung, Namjoon, Yoongi, and Minah were digging into the food on the table while Jimin, Hoseok, Jiwoo, Seokjin, and Jungkook danced around... wildly screaming the lyrics of the songs. Minho was chugging down the soju to impress Mira. And I was sitting on the couch, watching them in silence. If only we could live this happily... no hate... no harm... no backstab...
"CHUG CHUG CHUG!!!!" The guys were forcing each other to drink. Jimin had two bottles in less than five minutes, so I was getting anxious. He'll have a hangover...
"Hajima!" I snapped, grabbing the third bottle from Jimin. His face was glowing red, and he was fumbling around. He's drunk...
"That's not fair! To save your prince charming- you'll have to sacrifice yourself!" Jiwoo laughed, drunkenly smirking at me.
"Ani- aniya... So-Sora... you- I'm fine-" Jimin stuttered while waving his hands at me.
"DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!" Jungkook and the rest of the guys began chanting. I briefly glanced at Jimin, who was pressing his hands against his forehead to recollect himself. He can't take it anymore. Sighing, I lifted the bottle of soju and poured it down my throat. I shook my head and shuddered from the aftertaste of the burning sensation in my chest. But before I knew it, another bottle was pushed into my hand. I tried to defect the scene when Hoseok forced the bottle against my lips. Hopelessly, I swallowed another bottle of soju. The room echoed with laughter. Smiling, I turned to hug Jimin, who was also chuckling at me. My head and eyes grew heavy after half an hour as I glanced around the crowded room.
"GIVE ME MORE! I'M REALLY HAPPY!" I screamed, reaching out for another bottle, but before I could take a sip- someone snatched the bottle out of my hands.
"OHHHH! ARE YOU GOING TO SAVE HER NOW!? CHUG CHUG CHUG!" The crowd roared. I turned to find Taehyung staring at me anxiously. He averted his eyes to the cheering crowd and drained all of the soju in one go. For a moment, I felt really happy. All the pain and fear were suddenly gone.
"I don't want to-"
"Come on! Do it," Jiwoo laughed, tugging Yoongi into the crowd.
"I said I don't want-"
"Then Sora will have to take yours!" Seokjin howled, grabbing the bottle, then thrust it into me.
"Araso... leave him alone...," I chuckled, accepting the soju, and gulped at the bottle. I might puke. .. I turned to smile at Yoongi, who had his arm crossed while staring at me with his furrowed eyebrows.
"SORA! SORA! SORA!" The crowd cheered again, so I raised the bottle towards my lips, but someone hastily yanked the bottle out of my grip...
"OOOOOOOH!" The crowd gasped when Yoongi emptied the bottle of soju into his mouth. He tossed the bottle onto the couch and wiped his mouth. He could barely breathe when Hoseok forced him to take another bottle. The music blasted at maximum volume, so I started jamming to it with everyone else. My mind was running wild. I couldn't focus or think straight. So I was really really happy. And that was all I remember from that night because I woke up the next morning with pain thundering in my head and a very sore throat. I was lying on my bed, so I slowly got up- everything was blurry around me, so I blinked repeatedly until my vision cleared up.
"Mohya-!" I hoarsely yelped in panic when I fell off the bed with a loud thud. Groaning, I got onto my knees and stared at the huddle of people on my bed. I was sleeping on the edge of the bed...? Jimin was right next to me, but he was hugging... Jungkook... and Jungkook was curled up into Taehyung... while Yoongi had his arm wrapped around Taehyung's head... the room filled with loud snores and murmurs... chuckling softly... I pulled out my phone from Jimin's jacket to record the unconscious alphas.
"Oh shit-" I gasped, immediately turning around when my feet caught on something soft. I quickly turned to find Mira sprawling on the floor with the curtain's fabric wrapped around her body. Minho, on the other hand, was dozing off in the hallway beside Minah. Grinning, I quietly made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen to grab a cup of water. I tiptoed into the living room and almost choked on it in shock.
Seokjin was on the couch with Namjoon fast asleep in one arm while Hoseok snuggled in his other arm. I started coughing and had to dash out of my house, bursting into laughter like an idiot. I settled the cup beside me and sat down on the front porch to feel the cold breezy wind brushing gently against my face. My head was aching badly, so I got up and visited the local mart... half asleep ... in my pajamas. I bought a bag of hangover drinks and some ramen before heading back home. I was strolling towards the corner of the block when I noticed a van following me from behind. Panicking, I sped up and hurried towards my house. Fuck, why am I being stalked right in the goddamn morning!
"OWW!"
"OH I'M SORRY!" The person yelped when I suddenly bumped into someone, hard in the chest. I looked up to find a familiar face staring at me.
"Oh. Drunk girl?" Bogum gasped while staring at me in shock. I quickly turned to find the van reversing and drove away from us.
"What are you doing here?" I questioned him in confusion.
"I'm here to open my new branch of the cafe. I have a total of five branches in Busan now. It's near the fish market, and what are you doing here?" Bogum smiled, pointing towards the market down the street with a prideful smile on his face.
"Ah. I see. My boss has an event to attend, so I had to come along," I nodded at him. Just then, Bogum leaned in and sniffed me.
"What are you doing!?" I snapped, pushing him away.
"Wow... you reek of alcohol. How much did you drink last night? Oh, hangover drinks... you sure are something," He chuckled while staring at the bags in my hand, so I quickly hid it behind my back.
"W-whatever! I'll see you around, maybe!" I stuttered, pushing past him, then rushed back towards my house in a hurry. Aish... I'm annoyed by the fact he thinks I'm an alcoholic! I am not! About an hour later, all the alphas made their way back to the hotel. Everyone was a mess. We took our time while heading back since we didn't have any schedule left besides attending the event in the afternoon. Even if they were all wearing casual clothes, they still stood out amongst the crowd of commoners. Heads turned as we walked across the street, people took a double or triple look at us as we passed. The alphas didn't seem to notice it.
"Let's race back to the hotel in pairs!" Jiwoo insisted, turning to smile at the crowd of alphas.
"Sure, we're winning," Jimin chirped, crouching down before me, so I got on his back.
"You're ridiculous," Seokjin scoffed in disbelief.
"I guess you'll be the loser today," Jungkook smiled, turning to look at Minah before crouching down in front of her. Smiling, she got onto his back.
"Yah! What did you say?! Yah, Namjoon- we're winning this race!" Seokjin shot Jungkook a sharp glare and smacked Namjoon on the back, who turned to look at him in confusion.
"Moh? Me? Down? That's not-"
"Yah! Hurry up!" Seokjin whined, cutting Namjoon off, defeated, Namjoon knelt down to let Seokjin onto his back. Minho did the same for Mira.
"You carry me!" Hoseok tapped Jiwoo. Jiwoo beamed brightly and helped Hoseok onto his back.
"Come on- you two!" Seokjin snapped at Taehyung and Yoongi. They awkwardly stood by each other's side. Taehyung and Yoongi briefly glanced at each other and turned away in embarrassment.
"Ah... I won't be doing it...," Yoongi coughed, waving his hands back and forth to reject the competition.
"Taehyung doesn't like to lose though," Jungkook smirked, turning to look at Taehyung, who was trying to make up his mind.
"Ya-yah! Don't come near me! YAHHHHH- I DON'T WANT TO- YAH! LET ME GO!" Yoongi whined while backing away when Taehyung approached him with a straight face. Yoongi tried to push Taehyung away, but Taehyung quickly bent down to heave Yoongi over his back.
"Are we ready?!" Minho shouted with a prideful smirk on his face.
"Yah... aish...," Yoongi complained but gripped Taehyung's shoulders anyways.
"If you don't want to fall and break your neck- then hang on," Taehyung muttered, steadily pushing onto his feet. Yoongi grimaced at first but eventually gave out a little smile and placed his arms around Taehyung's neck.
"Alright... get set... GO!" Jimin gripped my legs and dashed forward at full speed.
"Be careful!" I yelped as the alphas raced towards the looming hotel just a few streets away.
"Namjoon! Hurry! Hurry!" Seokjin screamed, smacking Namjoon repeatedly on the back as if Namjoon was a horse.
"I'm gonna drop you if you keep hitting me like that! YOU'RE SO HEAVY!" Namjoon screamed, trying his best to keep up with us.
"Come on- Jungkook!" Minah smiled, ruffling Jungkook's hair as he caught up with Jimin and I.
"I can't see! Stop messing with my hair!" Jungkook complained as he attempted to outrun us.
"AHHHHH! CAREFUL!" Hoseok screamed, quickly dodging one of the shop's signboards in horror.
"I'm sorry!" Jiwoo yelped apologetically.
"YAH YAH YAH!" Yoongi gasped when Taehyung almost ran into a bike, but his reflex was swift, so he turned to his side to avoid tumbling over. Taehyung was oddly determined on the contest between the alphas. He had his eyes trained on the hotel without even blinking.
"AHH! You're hurting me! Loosen your grip!" Mira whined, smacking Minho, who was clenching her legs with all his might.
"Don't you want to win!?" Minho snapped, tightening his grip, causing Mira to let out a loud painful groan, but she didn't complain. At this point, Jimin, Namjoon, and Jungkook were leading.
"GO GO GO!!!" I cheered as we passed through the gate. The guards stared at the flock of frantic alphas in confusion but didn't say anything as we rushed toward the main lobby.
"AHHHH! WE WON," Jimin, Jungkook, and Seokjin all cheered at once when we reached the center of the lobby. Jimin let me down and collapsed onto the floor, panting heavily with Namjoon and Jiwoo. Minho sat down on the floor... completely... out of breath. Taehyung quickly dumped Yoongi, causing him to stumble onto the floor.
"No, I won! I clearly got here first!" Seokjin snapped at Jungkook and Jimin.
"No, you didn't!-" We all froze in shock except for Seokjin because he was facing us.
"YAH! ARE YOU BLIND! I CLEARLY WON!" Seokjin argued cluelessly at us as we stared past him in silence. We're in trouble.
"Why aren't you speaking!? That's right... admit it... I won- OH KAMJAGIYA!" Seokjin quickly jumped back in panic when he turned around to find the group of elderly alphas staring at us with an uptight expression. Right in front of us... stood our parents. Clearly confused and frozen by our sudden outburst into the hotel.
"Aren't you supposed to be in your room...?" Seokjin's mother asked while staring at her son suspiciously.
"Oh- oh... we went for a morning jog! Haha..." Namjoon quickly answered so we all nodded in agreement. If they find out we stayed out last night... they'll definitely kill us...
"We need to stay in shape," Jungkook smiled weakly at his parents, who were doubtfully staring at him.
"Is that true?" Mrs. Min turned to look at her son, who suddenly froze. Yoongi was caught off guard. Oh no ... everyone turned to look at Yoongi as he stood stiffly. Yoongi, please... don't expose us ... Yoongi glanced at us uncomfortably.
"Oh, neh," Yoongi nodded with his head hung low, so we all exhaled in relief. I thought he was going to put us in trouble.
"WHERE HAVE YOU ALL BEEN ALL NIGHT!? I TOLD YOU TO COME BACK BY 10:00 PM! AH! YOU'RE GIVING ME A HEADACHE! NOT JUST ONE! BUT ALL OF YOU?! PHONES TURNED OFF?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA- Omo! Annyeonghaseyo!" The head professor came striding into the lobby, lecturing us loudly but abruptly stopped when he spotted our parents. Oh, shit... all of the alphas guiltily turned to look at their parents. All of the elderly alpha's heads snapped towards us in shock.
"Ahem... I should go," Taehyung coughed, quickly escaping the room.
"Me too!" Minah chuckled, rushing after Taehyung.
"It was tiring!" Seokjin nodded, walking away on his own.
"KIM SEOK JIN!" His mother bellowed, rushing after him.
"Yoongi-" Mr. Min got cut off when Yoongi ruffled his hair in frustration and walked off.
"We should go," I gulped, tugging Jimin's arm. Jungkook glanced at me and followed Jimin and I back to our floor. I'm sure all the alphas were harshly lectured by their parents because when we all left our room to go to their suite to prepare for the event- everyone looked very upset. Taehyung, Jungkook, Jimin, and I went to the royal suite our parents shared to prepare for the event. All the stylists and makeup artists were already there.
"I'll take care of Sora and check up on you boys later," Imo nodded, leading me into a separate room. It was nice to see her again. I don't often see her at the mansion unless she has to dress me up. I guess she's pretty busy with the staff management within the mansions.
"Why are they so upset," I whispered while undressing myself as Imo prepared the bathtub for me.
"They had their reasons. But I understand. Enjoy yourself while you're young," Imo smiled, filling the tub with different substances to the point it turned milky white. So, I inhaled the rich flowery aroma within the bathroom to relax my dull mind.
"Wash up. I'll be waiting outside," Imo closed the door as I got into the tub. I took my time and finally returned to the dressing room to get ready.
"Aigo... look at your neck...," Imo groaned, lightly touching the hickeys on my neck, so I glanced at my hands in embarrassment.
"Be careful with what you show... it might cause unnecessary scandals. I'll cover it up," Imo gently dabbed the concealer and foundation onto my neck. Imo and I chatted as she did my hair and makeup. The stylist pulled on a light pastel pink lacy dress that goes all the way to my feet. It was a v-neck and light to the touch. My hair was pulled up into a loose bun with little artificial flowers attached to the bridal braids of my hair. My makeup was light with an innocent blush and peachy pink lips.
"Is she ready?" Jimin asked, peeking through the door with a curious look.
"Jimin, come here!" Someone called him.
"You're very pretty. I can't wait," He smiled and left the room.
"And that's the reason why the others are keeping their eyes on you," Imo sighed, weakly smiling at me.
"What are you talking about?" I smiled at her through the mirror.
"Oh, I can see it in their eyes. All of them, it must be hard for Jimin to secure you. Come on. Let's go," She chuckles while patting my shoulder. I got up and left the room to find the elders sitting in the spacious living room. Taehyung was leaning against one of the cabinets dressed in a gray matte suit (TMA red carpet) while Jungkook leaned against the arm of the couch, dressed in an all-black striped suit (Lotte duty-free 11082019). And my Jimin, of course, was dressed in a black suit with pushed-back hair (MMA 2019 outfit). Jimin was sitting on the couch across from his parents... with his head hung low. What's going on...? Why is the atmosphere so tense?
"-it's a huge risk," Mrs. Park bit her lips anxiously.
"What's going on?" I asked, turning to stare at my parents, who were sitting by the large glass window with a view of the city. They love the view of everything they own.
"We just got the news. Min Yoongi won't be attending the event. He left Busan," Eomma informed, turning to me with a weak smile. I went over to Jimin and placed my hand on his shoulder. What are they trying to point out exactly..?
"Jimin shouldn't attend the event," Mr. Jeon sighed, leaning on the couch to my parent's left side.
"Why not?" I asked in confusion. Why would we leave him behind?
"We all know the Min has their eyes on Jimin. We thought they'll delay their attack, but it's sooner than expected," Mrs. Kim sighed, clasping her hands anxiously. I don't get it... What does it have to do with Yoongi leaving Busan?
"Moh?" I scoffed while searching the room for answers.
"We don't know their plan. We didn't foresee this. Why are they evacuating Min Yoongi? It's likely to keep him away from a danger they'll be stirring up. Their only target at the moment is the Parks, so whatever they're planning isn't going to be good for the Park household," Mr. Kim shook his head. Oh... my heart dropped as I turned to look at Jimin, who was pressing his thumbs against his forehead.
"We can't leave him alone. What if it's a part of their plan? To separate him from the pack," I clenched my grip on Jimin's shoulder. The only way to stay safe is to stay together. I won't leave him alone... we can't trust anyone. He's all I have.
"We'll have people protect him," Appa said dully. Anger suddenly shot through me. No one in their right mind will believe his lies...! He doesn't even want to protect the Parks!
"Protect him? I know what you want appa! I can't trust you with his life! He's a human being, not a sacrifice!" I snapped angrily. He can't fool me. He wants to get rid of the Parks as quickly as possible to succeed their assets before the Min does. What angers me even more- was when the entire room grew hushed... as if they knew. H-how could they...!?
"I-I was right... so it was always your plan...?" I scoff in disbelief while scanning the room for answers. Mrs. Park was on the brink of tears. The Kims looked away guiltily as Mr. Jeon stared at me apologetically. This is sooner than expected. I bit my lips anxiously. It's them against me... they were never... truly on my side. I looked up at Taehyung and Jungkook, who were blankly staring at the floor... in silence. Jimin is their best friend... are they going to sit still and watch?
"W-wae? Why would you give the Mins what they want? We can counter them- so why should we make a sacrifice?!" I stuttered, turning to look at everyone in shock. We don't even know what the Min will do! We can't blindly kill a member of our pack! We'll just fall right into their trap!
"He might endanger everyone if he goes to the event. For everyone's sake-"
"HAH- YOU'RE SCARED THEY'LL ATTACK US AT THE EVENT- SO YOU'LL JUST LEAVE HIM HERE. SO WE CAN ESCAPE?!" I roared in rage. THIS IS A SUICIDE FOR JIMIN!- I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! THEY'RE LEAVING HIM HERE, SO IF ANYTHING HAPPENS- HE'LL BE THE ONLY ONE SUFFERING!?
"We don't know for sure, that's why-"
"How can you!? You can't just execute a shallow plan and call it a solution!" I snapped at appa in disappointment. How can he be so selfish!?
"Sora, it was sudden... we didn't expect it. You don't understand the way the society works-"
"Still, it doesn't make sense! You can't do this!" I snapped while glaring at my parents. I could feel every inch of my body burning in fury.
"Fine, Jimin. Let him decide. It'll be his choice," Eomma nodded at Jimin with her arms crossed.
"J-Jimin- I'm here for you," I whispered as I squeezed his hands to reassure him. My heart is aching in pain. Please... Please oppose it. Slowly... Jimin raised his head with an empty expression... for some reason, I was very anxious. Whatever he's going to say-
"I'll stay here," He said firmly without looking at me. My heart dropped. No... wae... he can't do this... Jimin.
"J-Jimin," I whispered, shakily staring at him as my chest churned in pain. I tried to catch his eyes, but he gulped and avoided me. I felt hurt... lost... scared...?
"I'll stay here. It's my decision," Jimin spoke in a low tone, tightly clenching his fist. At that moment, I felt as if someone stabbed me in the chest as pain surged all over my body, a hot burn formed in my throat. I felt dizzy. Everything was out of focus... I felt as if my soul left my body. I shakily took a step back... slowly letting go of Jimin's hand... everyone got up... ready to leave... still... I couldn't comprehend the reality I was facing.
"J-Jimin..." I whispered for the third time... hoping he'd change his mind. Jebal...
"Go," He firmly spoke while staring at his hands. Again, another wave of pain strikes my chest. My head grew heavier the longer I stood gazing at him. Why is he doing this...? I said I'll protect him, but he won't even let me...? W-wae? Doesn't he trust me? He can't do this to me. Ani, he can't do this to himself. My heart wrenched in so much pain- to the point, I felt like puking...
"Come on," Jungkook lightly tugged my arm as I stood staring at Jimin, but I didn't budge. Our memories began flashing right before my eyes... I can't lose him. Oh god, not him.
.
.
.
"Sora, go," Jimin sighed heavily, looking up at me. Our eyes met... I searched his eyes for answers... but there was nothing... nothing... it was empty... he wasn't even smiling... just a dull and straight face... all sorts of emotions rushed through my chest. It was even more painful to see the dim lights in his eyes...
Park Jimin... let me love you for once... I can't be the only one receiving this endless cycle of love... for once... just let me love you.
