Chapter 4: Entering Diagon alley

What happened next was almost the aqme as in the original work. Alan listened to Hagrid's story and the angry vicious shouts from Aunt Petunia.

In the end, just like orignial work, Dudley was given a pig's tail by Hagrid, which scared the whole family so much that they ran around the room scramijg frantically.

Wonder why this still happened, Dudley never got to eat from the cake. Had Hagrid planned this all along??!

He truly is the one and only Swagrid.

Eventually Alan stopped thinking about these random thoughts and layed on the sofa, covered with Hagrid's thick coat, and slept through the night until the next morning.

He was awakened by an owl, who was knocking on the window glass with a newspaper rolled in its beak.

When Alan got up and opened the window, it threw the newspaper straight at Hagrid's face and then grabbed onto Hagrid's clothes with its beck, furiously searching for something.

"Hagrid, the owl is going completely mental!"

Alan stood a little further from the crazy owl before realizing its behavior.

To prevent the owl from taking out its anger on him, Hagrid needed to give the money it owed for delivering the newspaper, probably a subscription or something.

"Here ye go, little owl."

Hagrid took out a few small coins from his coat and stuffed them into the owl's small pouch hanging around its neck.

Noticing Alan staring at the coin in his hands, Hagrid explained: "This is a Knut, Wizarding money. I'll explain more on how to use these later on including sickles and galleons. Now we have to set off quickly, We've got a lot of things to buy!"

Alan nodded, then thought for a moment and asked, "Hagrid, I don't have any money, how will I buy my supplies?"

Hagrid smiled.

"You didn't think yer parents would leave you empty-handed now, would ya?"

Hagrid stood up, walked towards the door, and said in a cheerful voice, "Well better get moving now!"

They both went outside the small cabin, after which they got on a boat.

Hagrid tapped the side of the boat with his big umbrella and the boat started rowing on its own. When they reached land they took a long subway ride before finally arriving in London.

Alan followed Hagrid past a record store, a book store, a cinema... And finally, Alan saw the infamous dirty bar, The Leaky Cauldron.

People who walked by seemed to ignore the dirty pub, as they went on their days.

'Muggle Repelling Charm... wonder how it works?'

"We're here. This is the Leaky Cauldron, It's where the entrance to Diagon Alley is."

Hagrid pushed Alan into the Leaky Cauldron.

As an entrance to a shopping hub and a bar, the pub was filled with several witches and wizards minding their own.

A few old witches were smoking long pipes and drinking some kind of beverage.

There were also wizards wearing odd wizard hats chatting leisurely.

All the laughing and talking quieted down a bit when they entered.

The barkeep came over to greet them.

"Hagrid, the usual?" The old barkeep asked tentatively.

Hagrid shook his head and patted the barkeep's shoulder, almost making him fall.

"Can't, Tom, I'm on Hogwarts business," Hagrid said a bit miffed while patting Alan's shoulder with his other arm.

The barkeep looked at Alan for a moment before noticing the scar fixed on his forehead and showed a shocked expression.

"...Could it really be?.. Bless my soul... Alan Potter..!"

He immediately came to Alan, held his hand, and shouted loudly, "Welcome back, Mr. Potter!"

The bar instantly went quiet, and before he could react, everyone swarmed to him like hungry hyenas and wanted to shake his hands.

'Seriously, at least let me breathe!' Alan thought in exasperation.

While he was busy shaking hands with the people who came up, Alan looked at a pale young man.

"This is Professor Quirell! your Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts."

Hagrid introduced with a smile.

Quirrell stammered as he came closer.

"Mr. Pot-potter se-.. very nice to meet you!"

He looked extremely excited, If Alan hadn't known better he would've thought this guy was being sincere!

Alan didn't say much to Quirell, or to be more precise he couldn't when other people were swarming up to shake his hand.

Alan felt his hands were sore from shaking hands with so many people, He could've left earlier, but he didn't really feel good about just ignoring other people's goodwill, even though it was misplaced.

Luckily, Hagrid escorted him out of there towards the back door of the bar.

"Three up three... two across..."

Hagrid tapped the bricks with the umbrella in his hands in a specific order which soon opened a passageway big enough for the two of them to pass through.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley!"

Hagrid laughed loudly.

Alan followed behind Hagrid, and the passageway behind them melded into a solid wall once again.

When he turned to look at the sight in front of him.

He really thought the movies didn't do this place justice.

Even though he had watched the movies, he still couldn't help but marvel at this place.

Especially when he passed the owl shop, he stared at a beautiful white-haired owl.

"Look! That's a Nimbus Two Thousand!"

Alan heard someone shouting excitedly.

He quickly turned his head and looked in the direction of the sound. In the glass was a beautiful broom being displayed.

Alan remembered that the original Harry was really good at flying, however, it didn't exactly mean that this applied to him, and even if it did he might not be exactly interested in it.

He'd honestly rather create a spell someday, that would allow him to fly like Voldemort and Snape.

It has more practical applications and plus it looks dope as hell.

"We've arrived at Gringotts!"

Hagrid's words interrupted his musings.

Alan looked up to see that they had finally arrived in front of a tall building.

Two goblins stood in front of the shiny bronze gate, and as they entered the goblins glanced at them in disdain and sneered, before continuing to keep watch.

'Jeez, Rest that bitch face of yours, would you? I haven't done anything yet!' Alan cursed in his mind.

He didn't understand why they would even show their displeasure when he had done nothing... yet.

it was a well-known fact, that wizards and goblins had been in feuds and wars several times in the past. Now however, at the very least they didn't need to escalate the already strained relationship even further by sneering at people coming to take their money!

Alan sighed.

They entered the second door.

Glancing on the wall, Alan saw the classic thief warning of 'we will shit on your grave if you steal from us' written in bold letters on the wall.

Alan thought about the incident in the original works, where the golden trio broke into Gringotts to steal one of the Horcruxes.

Hmm..

Maybe he should become the Arsène Lupin of the wizarding world, hehe...

"Gringotts Is the safest wizarding bank in the world, If anyone would even attempt to rob it, then their crazy!"

Hagrid said with a smile.

Alan was startled.

If he hadn't known Hagrid said the same thing in the original work, He would've thought Hagrid had seen through his plan to rob Gringotts!
