Chapter 70: Natasha Romanoff's Contrast!
---
After receiving Lorien's order, Skyfire stood up and walked towards another mutant, carrying the head of the first mutant.
When Skyfire reached the other mutant race not far away, he threw the head in front of the mutant with a thud and drew his long sword with a sharp clang.
"Roar~~~!"
Immediately, the mutant race backed away in fright. Seeing their own clan's head beheaded by someone else, they knew persistence was futile. The mutant pretended to retreat step by step, glancing at Wanda, Lorien, and Skyfire, seemingly memorizing their faces. Then, it turned around and started running away!
"Bang bang ~ bang bang~"
Skyfire saw this and changed the grip on his long sword before charging and throwing it directly at the fleeing mutant aiming to jump into the sea.
Shh~ "Psst!"
The sound of a sharp knife piercing flesh was heard, and the running mutant was nailed to the floor by its thigh.
"Roar~~~!"
It growled as Lorien and Wanda looked over. They saw that Skyfire's long sword had nailed the mutant's thigh to the ground.
"Bang bang bang~"
Skyfire accelerated, sliding past, propelling flames from his legs and waist, then approached the mutant from behind. Skyfire first pulled out the long sword from the mutant's thigh with a "psst" sound. As he passed the mutant's head, he grabbed it, stopped himself, and slammed the mutant to the ground.
"Boom!"
Skyfire stepped on the mutant's head, twisting his feet to expose the mutant's neck.
"Roar~~~!"
The mutant let out a ferocious roar. Skyfire raised his long sword, aligned it, and with a wave, swung it like playing golf.
"Psst~!"
The next moment, the mutant's head was separated from its body.
Skyfire sheathed his long sword and lifted his iron foot off the mutant's head, then walked back. The mutant's head rolled twice before stopping. When Skyfire returned to Lorien, Lorien nodded and praised, "Good job."
Skyfire placed his right hand on his chest, nodded, and transformed back into his Ferrari car form in front of them. Wanda smiled and patted the Ferrari. "Good job." A smiling face appeared on the car door in response.
But when Wanda looked back and saw the two mutants killed by Skyfire, she pursed her lips sadly. "I'm still not trying hard enough."
Does Wanda think she has worked hard? Certainly. When she isn't working and is at home, Wanda practices her Origin Magic Power alone. However, without systematic training, magic tools, books, balls, or staffs, she can't get effective training. She can only use her strength to lift heavy objects and perform simple attacks repeatedly. What experience can this bring? It's like being stuck in kindergarten while others progress through school.
So Wanda's situation isn't her fault; she just lacks a good learning environment. That's why she improved so quickly after learning another witch's spell and getting the Darkhold in Westview Town, eventually surpassing two Sorcerer Supremes. The importance of a guide is paramount!
Seeing Wanda's loss, Lorien rubbed her head and smiled. "It doesn't matter. I have contacted a magician's holy place. When you're free, I will send you there to study systematically. A pretty good female magician will teach you."
"Really?" Wanda hugged Lorien excitedly. "That's great! You are my God, Lorien! I love you to death!"
Lorien touched Wanda's cheek. "How could it be so boastful..." He hadn't finished when Wanda covered his mouth.
Why is this girl so active? She would face consequences another day!
In the seaside market, near the corpses of the two mutants, Lorien and Wanda held each other by the headlights of a Ferrari.
...
"Da da da~" "Titer~titer~"
The helicopter arrived, and so did the police cars. Lorien and Wanda parted ways. Accompanied by the sound of wheels and helicopter blades, police cars lined up slowly, and the helicopter landed on a nearby platform. At that moment, another steel armor, similar to Tony's, flew in from afar and landed with a bang. As soon as its mask opened, it revealed a funny face - Tony's good friend, War Machine: Rhodes. Natasha Romanoff got off the helicopter, walked to Lorien and Wanda, and laughed.
"Wanda, your video is so funny, Tony couldn't help laughing. But why are you always so unlucky, encountering crises every time you date?"
During the conversation, Natasha Romanoff's sharp eyes noticed the bracelet on Wanda's hand. Knowing it was from Lorien, she instinctively knew it was no ordinary bracelet but likely a treasure. However, Wanda, holding Lorien's arm, answered sweetly, "Is this considered overtime? Then I need to earn more wages to buy delicious food and clothes for my Lorien."
For a moment, Natasha Romanoff threw her head back as if critically struck, slightly opening her mouth and closing her eyes as if she couldn't stand it.
On the other side, War Machine looked at the two mutant corpses and scanned the area. He then went back to Sheriff George and said, "The dead can't die anymore. But this kind of creature seems powerful, and bullets cannot penetrate the skin. More data must be collected for autopsy."
After George nodded and watched Rhodes go to Natasha, he noticed Lorien. Black Widow, War Machine, Scarlet Witch... all talking and laughing with Lorien? This meant Lorien's identity was even stronger than he knew. Otherwise, how could superheroes be so friendly with him?
George realized Lorien must be considered equal to superheroes. But did Gwen know this? George thought deeply, planning to chat with Gwen after returning home.
"Sheriff Stacy, I think you need to come and see for yourself."
Hearing the police call, George came to his senses. "Okay, here I come."
On the other side, after listening to Rhodes' report, Natasha Romanoff looked at Wanda and asked, "Wanda, do you have more detailed information?"
This fight looked like Wanda was involved, so Natasha asked Wanda first. But Wanda looked at Lorien after hearing it, silently asking with her eyes if she could speak. Lorien nodded. "Speak."
Wanda then explained to Natasha Romanoff, "These two monster races are called mutants. They emerged from the sea and have incredibly strong physical abilities. Even my magic can't kill them accurately. Lorien said that their physical fitness is no worse than the Abomination back then, and their fighting power is even higher than the Abomination."
After getting the information, Natasha nodded before reacting. "Wait, Wanda, are you saying you can't kill them? Who killed them then?"
Rhodes also noticed this. He touched his iron chin, looked at the two mutant corpses in the distance, and reacted. "The corpses of the two monsters were all beheaded. There doesn't seem to be anyone with this kind of ability in ..."
It was only then that Rhodes and Natasha realized that this crisis was not solved by Wanda, but by other combat forces!
Who could that be? For a moment, both Rhodes and Natasha looked at Lorien. Lorien put his hands in his pockets and tilted his head to signal to the Ferrari behind him. Skyfire flashed its lights twice to indicate it was him.
Natasha and Rhodes were shocked.
"My God!" Natasha's eyes widened.
Rhodes, not fully aware yet, asked with certainty, "Are you sure it was a Ferrari that killed them?" He gestured, indicating a car beheading two monsters.
"Ting~ding~ping~"
After obtaining Lorien's consent, under everyone's gaze, Skyfire transformed and stood up. Various car parts moved, forming a perfect mechanical combination. When the 9-meter-high Skyfire stood up, both Natasha and War Machine could only look up, feeling immense pressure.
One of Skyfire's hands hung down while the other rested on the handle of a sword. Natasha saw clearly—it was this sword that cut the two monsters.
"See clearly?" Lorien asked with a smile. Natasha and Rhodes nodded at the same time. Then Lorien waved his hand.
"Ting~ding~ping~"
Skyfire transformed back into the Ferrari. Rhodes' pressure eased, but he felt a thrill only a car enthusiast could understand. "This is great!" Rhodes exclaimed, "My God, I'm sure this is the best car in the world! None can compare!"
Rhodes looked at his hands. "If I wasn't in this armor, I'd touch it! Maybe even kiss it!"
Skyfire: ...
Hearing Rhodes' enthusiasm, Ferrari wanted to reverse. If it couldn't, it might chop Rhodes off before he kissed it. Lorien initially agreed with Rhodes touching it but kissing? No way.
Next, the police brought reporters to interview the superheroes. Wanda looked at Lorien, who told her to go ahead, saying he didn't have time for Q&A. Rhodes, being military, was interviewed too. Natasha didn't need to be; two were enough.
However, Natasha asked suddenly, "Is the mutant race an alien race?"
Lorien looked at Wanda, who was being interviewed, and nodded. "Yes."
"Do you know about mutants?"
"Um."
"Then can you talk to me?"
Lorien glanced at Natasha as if to say, why should he? Was she prettier than Wanda? Better at contrast and burn than Wanda?
Seeing Lorien was too lazy to speak, Natasha thought about what Wanda would say to amuse him. "Lorien is very caring. As long as it doesn't violate principles, I will take the initiative to order him."
Hmm... proactive? Natasha looked at Wanda being interviewed, then moved to Lorien's side. Shoulder to shoulder, she leaned in and whispered, "Please, this information is really important to me. So when they reappear, many people won't die. Lorien, okay?"
Lorien turned slowly, looking at Natasha Romanoff in disbelief. Good guy, didn't expect you to be this kind of person. You're burning! I like burning, but being burned?
Seeing Natasha's "sincerity," Lorien turned his head, continued looking at Wanda, and said slowly, "You just need to know they are mutants. The way to deal with them is to push them back with strong firepower. Definitely, their presence is traceable."
Is there a trace? Natasha pricked up her ears. "What do you think?"
"Their appearance is due to nearby super abilities. They hunt super-abled people, not necessarily superheroes but must be super-abled. Like Wanda and her brother, or magicians."
Natasha suddenly realized. She quickly noted this key information. They could locate these monsters through superhero registration. As long as these monsters appeared, they were near superheroes.
"I see," Natasha Romanoff nodded, returning to her old heroic self, very sassy, capable of leading women. Lorien glanced at her. Good guy, there's really a contrast. I'll meet you some other day.
After a while, Wanda and Rhodes returned from the interview. Wanda, listless, hugged Lorien and "howled." "Lorien, there's a press conference later since this is a new type of monster. I have to leave..."
So miserable. Natasha sympathized. How can something happen as soon as they're out on a date? It's annoying to think about.
Lorien patted Wanda on the back. "It's okay, I don't have time today. We still have tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and so on... Unless I'm unlucky enough to be dead tomorrow."
"No nonsense!"
Wanda quickly covered Lorien's mouth, glaring at him. She kissed his cheek in public. "Don't say that next time."
"Punish yourself at home. I'm leaving with Natasha."
