Chapter 65: Picking Up Wanda From The Avengers Alliance!

After Wong received the business card, he saw the name and address in hot gold on the wooden card. But as he started to examine it further, Lorien had already turned into a beam of energy and disappeared.

Wong was taken aback. He looked at the Ancient One again and asked, "He doesn't even need to open the portal?"

The Ancient One shook her head. "He's not using energy-manipulating magic. It's about manipulating energy directly."

Wong was stunned. Direct manipulation of energy? It was like getting power without igniting gasoline in the engine or generating electricity without relying on a generator—using the source directly!

"How did he do that?" Wong asked in shock.

The Ancient One didn't answer because she couldn't do it either. She just knew that Lorien had this ability. The power of a single universe level was beyond what even a godfather could comprehend. If Lorien wanted, he could wrap the Earth with energy, lift it up, and smash it in people's faces like a bowling ball.

Finally, the Ancient One spoke seriously to Wong for the first time, "If Midgard encounters a catastrophe, you must go to him. Only he can save the situation."

Wong memorized the address on the business card deeply in his mind and nodded heavily. "I understand."

The scene shifted.

Lorien had already returned to the northern New York building. He took out his phone and messaged Stephen back, "A place called Kamar-Taj, where your future lies."

Yes. After the battle with the Ancient One, Lorien didn't want to interfere further. He wanted Stephen to go directly to Kamar-Taj. Everything would become clear to Stephen as he experienced it himself—what magic and reality truly were.

Next, Lorien was bored. According to Gwen, she had something going on at school and no time to come out and play. As for Wanda, was she off work? No, do the Avengers have off hours? Never mind, he'd go check it out.

Pressing his phone again, Lorien got off the elevator and went out the door, just in time to meet skyfire who ran out. Sitting in the Ferrari, he held the steering wheel and lightly pressed the accelerator. Skyfire headed towards the Avengers base.

After a while, passing through the city and a suburb, Lorien arrived at the periphery of the Avengers base. Of course, even before he got close, his car was scanned by Tony's satellite. Lorien got out of the car, leaned on the car door, and contacted Wanda with his phone.

After a while, a beautiful woman in a windbreaker with loose hair ran towards him excitedly. The other superheroes in the base were shocked. When had Wanda ever been so excited? What happened?

As they came out, they saw Wanda run to the gate of the base, open it, and jump into Lorien's arms excitedly. And it wasn't just a normal hug—it was a full embrace with her legs wrapped around his waist!

"Who is he?" Falcon asked, looking into the distance.

"That's Lorien," Natasha Romanoff explained. "In reality, he is the top psychiatrist in the United States."

Falcon asked thoughtfully, "In reality?"

"Yes, in reality," Natasha nodded. "No one knows the full extent of his abilities, maybe only Wanda does."

Obviously, Wanda didn't know everything yet. Precisely, the Ancient One who had met Lorien recently knew the most. Everyone else only knew bits and pieces. However, Falcon didn't realize how powerful Lorien was. He thought Lorien was just more powerful than average and kept asking, "Why doesn't he join the Avengers?"

Natasha was speechless. It's not Falcon's fault; he was a soldier and influenced by Captain America, so he had a sense of honor and obsession with superheroes. He thought becoming a superhero was an honor everyone should like.

But Natasha knew that Lorien didn't bother to be a superhero. And if Wanda wasn't responsible, she wouldn't like being a superhero either! Plus, Gwen, the spider-woman! So, Lorien's family didn't like being superheroes, or professional superheroes at least. But how to explain this?

Natasha thought about it, and just as she was about to explain, Hawkeye interjected, "They're gone."

Yes, the scene changed.

Lorien had already left with Wanda. Seeing this, many male superheroes had mixed feelings. It was like the guy from the class next door taking the girls from your class. Or more ruthlessly, a guy from outside the school taking the girls from your class. Although this girl had nothing to do with them, they still felt a pang of jealousy.

In the reddest sunset in history, a Ferrari was driving along the beach at a constant speed. While enjoying the sea breeze, Wanda watched the sunset in the distance. "What a beauty."

Lorien held the steering wheel with one hand and rested his other arm on the car window. "Such a sunset, as long as you send a lot of energy to the sky, you will have it."

Wanda blinked and asked, puzzled, "Why?"

"Because that's what I did," Lorien replied.

Wanda didn't doubt him at all. Instead, she happily asked, "Then you took the initiative to pick me up because you did this for me?"

"Hmm…" Adhering to the idea of not lying, Lorien nodded and shook his head. "At least half of it is for you."

"That's enough!" Wanda hummed happily.

Lorien looked at this sensible and enthusiastic girl and hummed happily as well. This was the life he liked. The days of fighting and killing were just decoration.

The two hummed for a while. Then Wanda started talking about what she had encountered in the Avengers. For example, Captain America and Tony were fighting again. Falcon and Hawkeye were competing to see who could shoot more accurately. Natasha had gone on another mission.

Besides that…

"Lorien, the Sokovia Accords have been officially issued. We seem to be going to Germany to sign this agreement. But Captain America has gone missing with a few others, and Natasha said trouble might be coming."

Hearing this, Lorien knew that the civil war was about to start. Captain America was recruiting and going to Germany to oppose the agreement and save his friend, the Winter Soldier. Lorien knew that even if someone was influenced by him, the end of the timeline still tried to bring the plot back to its normal line as much as possible.

Even if the process was different, some points would still trigger. Just like some decisive battles, unless he stood up and disrupted the timeline at these key moments, it would be disturbed. But at that point, the Time Variance Authority would come looking for him.

The Time Variance Authority wasn't scary, but the people behind it were still tricky. Lorien wanted to do whatever he wanted on the timeline. The best thing was to go beyond the single universe level and reach the multiverse level. By then, he could even completely modify the timeline! If he didn't want something to happen, it wouldn't, and if he did, it would, no matter the process!

But until then, it wasn't the Time Variance Authority that came looking for him, but the Living Tribunal.
