Chapter 51: Tetsuya's Fluid Technique vs. Might Guy

Outside the ninja shop, Might Guy and Rock Lee were performing headstands, walking on their hands instead of their legs. Even while waiting for Tenten, they couldn't be idle, squatting with two fingers. The people around them kept their distance, wary of contracting some serious disease.

This was the scene Tetsuya encountered as he stepped out of the shop.

"Teacher, Lee, let's go quickly," Tenten called out, urging them to leave before she died of embarrassment.

"Yo! Tenten, such energy! This is youth!" Might Guy exclaimed, balancing on one hand and giving Tenten a thumbs up, revealing his big, white teeth.

Tetsuya was taken aback. "Such bright teeth! Where does Guy get his toothpaste? I need to buy a set too," he thought.

Guy spotted Tetsuya and his eyes lit up. With a swift somersault, he landed in front of Tetsuya.

"Kamiyo Tetsuya?"

Tetsuya was puzzled. "You know me?"

"We talked about you," Guy explained, "Kakashi mentioned you. He said you're a genius far beyond him."

"My name is Might Guy, and I'm Kakashi's lifelong rival. We've faced each other over 500 times, and I still won't win!"

"Huh?" Tenten was surprised. "So, you're one of Kakashi-sensei's students."

As Guy's rival, Tenten and the others knew about Kakashi and that he had become a Jōnin instructor this year.

"So that's what happened," Tetsuya nodded, but before he could say more, Guy interrupted.

With a 90-degree bow, Guy sincerely asked, "Kamiyo Tetsuya, please have a physical competition with me!"

Tetsuya was stunned. "What?"

At Konoha's No. 6 training ground, Tetsuya understood the situation. With many people around, Tenten suggested they move to the training ground first.

Might Guy explained his reason for challenging Tetsuya. The root of the challenge was Kakashi. During a chat, Kakashi mentioned Tetsuya, saying his taijutsu didn't belong to any Konoha style, which piqued Guy's interest. He had been searching for Tetsuya for days but hadn't met him until today.

"Mr. Guy, it's really unfair for you to challenge Tetsuya. You should let Lee do it. You're too strong," Tenten complained.

Lee, fired up, said, "Mr. Guy, let me compete with Tetsuya!"

Guy shook his head. "Lee, I understand your feelings, but Tetsuya is an opponent even Kakashi respects. You need more training!"

"I see. Is this what a genius is?" Lee looked at Tetsuya with admiration. "Mr. Guy, I will continue to work hard."

Guy moved Lee into his arms. "Lee, this is youth!"

"Teacher!"

They hugged and cried, leaving Tetsuya with a black line on his face. "Do people really do this?"

After the farce, Tetsuya agreed to Guy's request. He was curious about the strength of Konoha's foremost taijutsu master.

Both sides stood ready, no excessive rules. Guy took the lead.

With a swift movement, Guy closed the distance, rotating his waist and sweeping his right leg hard. "Leaf Hurricane!"

Tetsuya blocked with one hand, countering Guy's move with a punch to the joints.

"Interesting! A new style!" Guy was delighted. His attack was a test, but Tetsuya's response was beyond expectations.

"Come again!" Guy shouted.

"Leaf Strong Whirlwind!" "Dynamic Entry!" "Konoha Rising Wind!"

Guy alternated between various kicks. Tetsuya showed no weakness, employing his fluid technique, based on Bajiquan. The two clashed fiercely, their blows creating shockwaves, destroying the training ground.

Lee and Tenten were stunned.

"Is this Tetsuya's strength?" Lee muttered. He believed hard work could surpass genius, but Tetsuya's strength, rivaling Guy, made him question his resolve. Could he really surpass this?

But then he remembered Guy's words. Hard work wasn't just about surpassing others but surpassing oneself. This was the essence of youth.

Regaining his fighting spirit, Lee watched as Guy found his taijutsu was being matched by Tetsuya. No matter how hard Guy tried, Tetsuya countered effortlessly.

"Third Gate, open!"

"Hey, hey, Mr. Guy, this is too much," Tetsuya said, seeing Guy open the Eight Inner Gates. This was just a sparring match. Was it necessary?

Tenten and Lee were nervous. With the Eight Inner Gates opened, Guy's power and speed increased dramatically.

Blocking another of Guy's kicks, Tetsuya suddenly changed his stance and withdrew from the attack range.

"Not good!" Guy realized too late as Tetsuya attacked his chest with a series of elbow strikes, ending with a powerful blow that knocked Guy to the ground.

"That's enough, Mr. Guy."

Tetsuya chose to end the match. Guy, temporarily restrained, apologized for getting carried away.

Tetsuya shook his head. "It's fine. It was a good fight. A real man's fight."

As they parted, Tetsuya couldn't help but feel a deep respect for Guy's dedication and spirit.
