Chapter Eight

Jackia's point of view

The crescent mark was like the one on my forehead, where I was? I looked closely at the woman who was talking to me, then I asked the obvious question.

" Who are you? " She stood up from where she sat.

I took that opportunity to look around, everything seemed OK. Nothing looked weird as my foot touched the ground. The mirror that was standing right in front of me was showing me in a white garment, a spotless beautiful white garment with some embroidment placed perfectly on my neck.

I looked at myself, but there was nothing like that on me, just the clothes I left the Palace with. Then how come I can see something different in the mirror?

" What you see is true my child, it has nothing to do with your human vision".

Then I turned immediately to see who had just spoken. She was the most beautiful woman I have ever set my eyes on. She had white long hair, extremely white, with a crown on her head that shone just like gold.

I couldn't help but wonder if it was real gold. The crown had a crescent moon shaped like the mark right on my forehead. She was accompanied by a bright ray of light. But I couldn't hold back any more as I was beginning to get scared of the person standing before me.

"Who are you?" I asked again, but the response I got was the beginning of a new life for me.

"My name is Selene, I am the moon goddess, the keeper of the moon and the fate determiner of every wolf, the giver of healing, fertility, love, compassion and grace".

" You're the moon goddess?, then you're the reason why I am running away for my life? Why did you choose me to go through all those training sessions for days and months just to end up being a baby maker just like every other female wolves out there?"

" You are not just an ordinary wolf my child, you are special and gifted. You alone hold the fate of your kingdom's peace that they have sought after for years now. You are their long awaited saviour my child. Don't you ever doubt who you are".

" I shouldn't doubt who I am, I have thrived and fought hard to this point, why is this mark showing on my forehead if I am to end the war? The only way that can ever be done is if I am made the elite warrior, with that I hold a lot of power".

" With that you hold no power, don't be naive my child, you know deep down being the elite warrior for you was to prove a point to your father and escape being married out like every other female wolf ".

She said as she turned around to go sit on her throne which seemed to not touch the ground and not touch the roof of her palace. Yet she was seated comfortably in it. After a few minutes everything here seemed different from our world .

I know there are two worlds, the underworld for the dead, and the world we live in but, here I have never heard of it in my entire life.

"My child you're on the moon and the moon is my home. I watch over it, the moon holds the greatest power you can ever find ".

" Your world needs you, your family needs you to stop the war, if not this war will be the last of your kindred. And I am sure you wouldn't want that to happen".

" I do not care what happens in the future what I care about is now and my life

Doesn't that even matter in all this? My happiness and joy, my hard work and perseverance does it not matter? " I said as I walked towards her with tears in my eyes .

She doesn't really know how I feel

" I know how you feel, my child" I moved back startled ,

" You hear my thoughts? " I asked even though I didn't allow her to read my mind and I had blocked all access to my thoughts.

" My dear I am your destiny creator, I know you better than you know yourself. I know your future before you get there. Listen to me and follow through the mate game and watch how other things unfold. You will know what else to do after that ".

I just sat there crying, not having the strength to fight any further. Why fight a woman whose mind has been made up and wants nothing but her wish to come to pass? But then I decided that I still need to speak my mind .

She has to know that I have worked so hard to pass from this stage and live my life the way I want it and not her or others wants it. As I tried to speak I heard a voice call out to me , "Jackia, Jackia are you okay ?".

But then before me was the mirror, where I could see my lifeless body at the border with the guards rovering around me and right from afar I could see someone running towards me. Who could that be?"

The moon goddess called my attention to the world around me

"It's time for you to go back to the world and fulfil destiny, to restore peace to your world. Go my child, go" she said in a chanting voice. I was still wondering what she meant by that only to see myself slowly fading away from her presence .

The last thing I saw was her smiling face with her crown and a reminder of the mark on my forehead. I know it will be hard to comprehend what just happened, meeting the moon goddess face to face was an experience I will never get over.

Then I coughed to life, gaining back the attention of the guards who looked like they lost someone, they thought they must have lost me . So pathetic, they knew they could not touch me as they stood afar, while looking towards me .

As the person that was running in the mirror I saw early got to where we were, It was the Alpha, and he looked horrified at me

"What were you trying to do? ,kill yourself?, Well young lady not at my expense, so right now what I want to do is help you back to the palace and nothing more ".

The prince said as he bent down to lift me up. I was a fit woman who had gone through a series of training so definitely I would weigh just the same amount as a man who trained. He wasn't ready at first and was shocked on the other hand .

He managed to lift me up and we headed to the palace which must be far from here. He looked like he might give up anytime soon, so he had to ask after so much deliberation with the way he turned his face.

"How come you weigh this much for a woman?" .
