Mia's footsteps could be heard echoing down the hall, and Claire stood still, her body shaking with sadness and anger.

Even though tears were running down her face, her mind was already going fast.

The things Mia said to her hurt her deeply; each one was like a knife to her already weak heart.

However, a spark of drive began to grow beneath the pain. She wasn't going to let Mia ruin her marriage without a fight.

Claire stood up straight and took a deep breath to calm down. She wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. She knew she couldn't leave this alone.
