"Do I make myself clear?" Jeffery questioned Tracie when she didn't answer him yet.
Reluctantly, Tracie nodded her head.
"I'm not promising anything father, but don't be disappointed when she doesn't turn out to be the same daughter you thought she was when she was two years old. She's probably all grown up and spoiled right now," Tracie said, her hands folded around her chest as she tried to ignore her father's glaring eyes.
Jeffery sighed, pinching the skin between his eyebrows in frustration.
Tracie was the only child of his who was hot-headed and gave him a hard time, and Ezekiel was usually the one who handled her. But from the latter's silence, he was tired of her as well.
Meanwhile, Tracie continued to silently pray Ava was never found. She was the only daughter of the Clark family; she didn't want another child—even though the person was her sister, to come and take over her position.
