Chapter 56: Hina’s true nature

As Hina disappeared into the shadows, the room echoed with the sound of gunshots and bullets falling on the floor.

Akira suddenly raised up her right fist and shouted:

"STOP! DON'T WASTE YOUR AMMO!" She said.

She was the true leader of those men.

Haruto was still being protected by his personal army but deep down he knew that he wasn't completely safe from Hina's murderous intent.

Another loud silence filled the room until one of the men looked back and noticed that Yuna was no longer there.

"Hey…! The hostage has disappeared…!" He said while pointing the empty chair in front of them.

Then, Haruto sighed with annoyance and anger.

"AHHH FUCK! SHE'S GONNA TELL THE POLICE EVERYTHING…!" He said while stomping his right foot on the ground.

The men protecting him tried to reassure him, forgetting about Hina's danger.

Akira shouted again: "DON'T BE DISTRACT-" she didn't even have the time to finish her sentence that a scream of pain coming from behind her echoed in everyone's ears.

Everybody turned their head towards the source of the sound , noticing that a soldier fell on the floor with a knife embedded in his ribs.

The man dropped his gun on the ground and a lot of bleed came out from his wound.

He kept screaming and screaming.

He was hit in a vital point. He couldn't be saved, he was slowly waiting his final breath to arrive.

And that's why Akira shot him in the head, to end his sufferings.

"I'm sorry…" she said , before shooting him.

Then, she called her men once again to stay in their place, just like she was commanding a battalion.

Haruto then began to notice that his hands were trembling with fear.

"Fuck… I had to shoot her… I was too stupid for thinking that she would've come back to us… just a miscalculation… and tomorrow I have math test." He said, with fear and anger in his words.

He had no more choice.

He couldn't risk of losing other men to Hina.

Not if he had a perfect plan in mind… no. He couldn't do this.

But when he realized that he couldn't beat Hina in a place where she was born, it was too late.

All he could do was retire and go as far as possible from her.

When one of the soldiers noticed Haruto's fear, everyone started to panic, thinking that Hina was such an impossible enemy to beat.

And they were right.

Their fear didn't make them think straight and everyone wasn't listening to Akira's orders.

Once a very small and organised army, led by an ex-general soldier Akira, now they were nothing more than mere prey, waiting to die.

Hina remained in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to strike.

She could kill the main targets, but she was taking out the other men first.

On her mind there was nothing more than one thing: Death.

She had the perfect chance to be herself, and the thing that Kai didn't show any sign of sadness to her seemed to have ignited her fighting spirit.

Hina was having fun with her prey.

But there were two things that were giving her so much energy: first of all, she wanted to protect Kai, then , she wanted to take revenge on the people in front of her.

Hina hated liars with all her soul, and it seemed like she had some unresolved conflicts with them.

She kept observing their movements while moving around the room, in every corner and even underground, making noises everyone to hide her position.

Random gunshots echoed in the room, aiming at random spots hidden by the darkness.

Then, when the right moment arrived, Hina finally struck.

She sometimes throwed knives, and sometimes she directly stabbed her victim, showing herself and shielding her body with the one of her victim.

She was having so much fun… and she was so fine with that.

Each attack was swift and deadly, executed with such precision that it seemed almost unreal.

Hina moved like a shadow, invisible and unstoppable, striking with a speed that rendered any reaction from her enemies futile.

Her presence was felt only in the final breath of her victims, leaving terror in the hearts of those who had yet to see her.

Haruto's men, though armed and trained, found themselves gripped by panic.

One by one, they fell under Hina's unseen assaults.

Every time someone tried to locate the assassin, they found only empty shadows and fallen comrades.

The terror grew, fueled by the uncertainty and invisibility of the attacker.

From the center of the defensive formation, Akira, visibly tense, scanned the darkness with a furious expression, trying to spot the threat.

"Stay calm! Don't panic!" she commanded harshly, though the strain in her voice betrayed growing concern.

Around her, Haruto's remaining men tightened their defensive circle even further.

They moved nervously, jumping at the slightest sound, their eyes wide as they attempted to pierce the darkness.

The sense of vulnerability was palpable; they knew that despite their weapons and numbers, they faced an enemy they couldn't see or stop.

Hina continued her silent work, each step carefully calculated, each attack executed with deadly precision.

Not a word escaped her lips; her breathing was so controlled it was nearly nonexistent.

The silence in the room was broken only by the brief sounds of her victims falling, followed by the dull thud of bodies hitting the ground.

Meanwhile, Kai watched from a safe position, his heart in turmoil.

He was stunned by his girlfriend and of such a big group of men dying so easily…

But he wasn't feeling fear. He was stunned by her beauty and elegance.

Hina's skill was impressive, but the only thing that frightened him was her coldness.

There was no trace of the affectionate girl he knew; the Hina he saw now was a machine, precise and deadly.

Every fiber of his being wanted to intervene, but he knew any rash move could ruin everything.

And that's why Hina asked him not to move.

Because he would've been in the way, or because they could take him as hostage…

Realizing that Hina would not stop until every threat was eliminated, he knew his only hope of ending this situation without further bloodshed was to wait and observe.

Perhaps, once the situation was under control, he could find a way to approach Haruto and confront him directly, hoping for a less violent resolution.

But he also knew that he had to run away with Yuna.

She clung on his clothes , desperately seeking protection.

"Kai…!" She exclaimed while shedding tears while clinging to him.

The only thing that Kai could do was nothing more than reassure her.

So he gently hugged her and caressed the top of her head, trying to calm her.

But that only made Yuna cry even more.

"P-p-please… let's run away from here…!" She said, while burying her head in his right shoulder.

Kai could feel his shirt getting wet from Yuna's tears.

He knew he had to run away but at the same time, he also knew that he had to save Hina.

For some strange reason, he felt a strange connection with Akira, like that girl had something special in her, like she was deeply connected to Hina.

So, despite he was helping Yuna , he also knew that he had to come back.

The police was coming, it was only a matter of 10 minutes, probably.

That would've been the perfect chance for Yuki Nakamura to arrest her since she was in the middle of murdering people.

Kai also had to think about a solution for this.

And that's why he sent a message to Sakura.

He remembered the connection between her and Yuki and how Sakura could easily help him in such a dangerous situation.

Then, Kai finally took his decision: To bring Yuna outside the building and come back to save Hina, just like he did in the abandoned school.

The tension was palpable, and Kai knew that every second counted.

Each breath was laden with anticipation, each heartbeat a countdown to the decisive moment.

Despite Hina's apparent advantage, the situation was far from under control, and the danger was still very real.

Then, a random call arrived on Kai's phone.

Luckily, there was no sound, so nobody noticed his presence.

Yuna was still clinging to him.

The then took his phone and answered:

"Yes? Who's there…?" He whispered.

"It's me, Sakura. Where are you now?"

Kai finally let out a sigh of relief after hearing Sakura's voice.

He then explained the situation and told her his current position.

Then, Sakura told him that police was already coming since Yuki Nakamura was informed from the dead police officer.

His radio was still on when he died.

She was coming personally with an entire S.W.A.T squad to arrest the criminals and Hina despite she was the one who helped everyone to arrive there.

It was a race against the time.

Kai had to be fast before his life would've taken a very bad turn.
