Chapter 20: Violence

As Hina dropped the bag, its contents spilled onto the floor—tiny porcelain figurines, likely a gift she had brought for me.

Her face remained eerily calm, but her eyes glinted with a dangerous intensity.

It seemed like she could snap into an incredible rage.

"Hina!!! Get away from here!!! They have weapons!! This is dangereous!! Call the police!!" I shouted, trying to save her, but instead , the man who was holding me actually gave me a slap in the face.

"SHUT UP!" He said, with a very angry tone of voice.

"Ah!!! It hurts!!!" I gasped.

Hina looked at the scene, without saying a single word.

Her eyes were still empty but it seemed that she was trying her best to hold herself.

"I asked you a question," the intruder said, stepping closer to Hina.

His hand hovered near his gun.

But in a flash, Hina moved.

Her hand shot out, and before the intruder could react, she had disarmed him, twisting his wrist in a brutal arc that made him cry out in pain.

Hina didn't care about his pain and , instead , twisted his wrist even more to the point where i heard the sound of his bones breaking.

The man then fell on the floor and Hina kicked him in the stomach.

He even spat some blood from his mouth, after letting out a scream of pain.

The gun clattered to the floor.

Then, Hina took a look at the second man.

Maybe it was my impression, but it seemed like Hina's eyes became of a bloody red, with a homicidal aura inside of them.

Then, she stepped closer to me and the other, who mistakenly dropped his knife on the floor by fear.

Hina took a look at him and then noticed that his pants were unzipped.

She knew that he was about to do something awful to me, and she couldn't tolerate it.

So, Hina's body started to shake in anger, fury… I don't know.

"How dare you… how dare you touch him…? How dare you touch my Kai…?" She whispered, with a very angry tone of voce while her pupils became smaller and sharp.

The tension was growing in the air, and I knew that Hina was about to do something awful.

"W-w-who are you…?!?" The man asked, with a trembling and scared voice.

Then, the second intruder, the one who had been holding me, hesitated for a moment, shocked by the sudden turn of events.

He was totally scared by Hina, so he tried to grab the knife that he dropped.

But there was literally nothing that he could do.

He was already dead.

Hina didn't waste a second.

She kicked the gun across the room, out of reach, and faced the men with a cold,

calculating expression.

"You made a big mistake by coming here and touching my precious Kai…" she said softly, her voice laced with menace.

Hina was about to do something awful, i could feel it.

She then took a rapid glance and her lips curved into a small smile.

"My love… just give me some minutes…" she said to me, before looking at the intruder again.

The man who had been about to assault me snarled and lunged at her, but Hina was ready.

She sidestepped his attack with ease, her movements fluid and precise.

In one swift motion, she struck him in the throat, sending him staggering back, gasping for air.

The first intruder, recovering from his shock, rushed at Hina.

She met his charge head-on, using his momentum against him.

She flipped him over her shoulder, slamming him into the floor with a bone-jarring thud.

Panting, the man struggled to get up, but Hina was already there.

She pressed a foot against his chest, pinning him down.

I was looking at the scene in a very stunned way.

Hina was way too powerful, to the point where she didn't look like a human.

Instead, she looked like a monster… or a demon, to be more specific.

She was something that you can't explain in simple words…

Then, Hina got closer to them and kicked her both in the face.

The two fell directly with their face on the floor and they were screaming from pain.

Hina let out a very malicious and loud laugh and i saw her expression.

On her face, there was a huge smile that showed all her teeth and her eyes were open wide with a small pupil.

She was enjoying hurting those two.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Hina laughed maliciously , while grabbing a knife from the floor.

I was scared for that was about to happen.

Hina clearly wanted to kill those man.

She stepped closer to them and grabbed both of them from their jacket.

She looked deeply into their eyes.

"Are you ready for some… FUN?" She whispered, with still her psycho expression printed on her face , like a mask.

The men let out a terrified sigh and started breathing heavily while they were spitting a lot of blood from their mouth.

"P-please… we were forced!!! Don't kill us!!!" One of them said.

"Oh…? They forced you to hurt my precious Kai? Who sent you?" She asked.

"It was… it was…" one of them tried to say, but he immediately stopped.

"I can't say this or we'll be dead!!!" He added.

"Oh… you probably didn't understand your situation… you're already dead in every single way... But if you tell me… it won't be a painful death…" Hina whispered with a sadistic tone of voice, while taking the knife and cutting some skin from one of the man.

"AHHHHHHH!" He screamed in pain.

But this loud sound of pain only made Hina laugh even more.

Then, she looked into the eyes of the other one, like she wanted to say "you'll be next."

Hina brought her knife to his face and started to rub it against his skin, her expression cold and unyielding.

"O-o-o-okay!!! It was Rina Kobayashi!!! She sent us!!!!" The man yelled in fear.

Hina's eyes widened by a lot and she froze for some instants.

Then, her body started to shake , maybe for nervousness… or… bad memories.

I kept watching the scene in silence… scared that Hina could hurt me too.

"Rina…Kobayashi… she is dead… you're lying…" Hina whispered with a very aggressive tone.

"I SWEAR THST WE AREN'T LYING!! SHE ONLY TOLD US TO SCARY THIS BOU, NOTHING MORE!!!" The man kept saying, but all he got as reply was a punch headed directly into his mouth.

Hina hit him so hard that the floor became a mix of blood and teeth.

"EEEEEEEh!" The other man gasped in fear.

Then, Hina stood up and put her knife into a fighting position.

She was about to stab them until death.

"Where is Rina…?" She asked.

"W-We don't know!!! we got the mission by a private informer!!! His name is Kuragari Takeda!!!" He yelled.

This name seemed to have snapped something inside of Hina.

Her expression darkened and her hands were shaking in anger.

"I'll kill him for hurting my little Kai…" then, she looked into their eyes again.

"Where is he ?" She asked in a cold tone.

"HE LIVES IN THE HARUNAGA DISTRICT!!!" The man said.

"Thank you…" she whispered coldly.

"So… you're gonna spare us , right?" He asked, begging for his life.

Hina's lips curved again into a very scared smile.

Then, she laughed maniacally again and said:

"No."

Then, she raised her knife in the air, ready to kill the men who invaded my house.

I was petrified.

I was witnessing a homicide.

But, without even noticing, I managed to shout.

"NO! HINA! DON'T DO IT!! THAT's WHAT THEY WANT!! I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOu!!" I said, while still being imprisoned by the ropes.

At the sound of my voice, Hina stopped immediately, one inch distant from that man's throat.

She took a look at me and gave me a very sad and destroyed look, with tears falling from her eyes.

"'I'm so sorry , Kai…" Hina whispered.

I managed to stop her.

I didn't want her to kill people.

She was much better than that.

Then, Hina stood back from them and dropped the knife on the floor.

The men took advantage of the situation and ran away from certain death.

The second intruder, still clutching his throat, managed to scramble to his feet.

He grabbed his comrade by the arm, and together they stumbled out of the apartment, their eyes wide with fear.

The only sound filling my room was the sound of Hina's cry.

She took a look at her trembling hands dirtied by blood and tears started to fall from her eyes.

The room seemed to freeze in that moment, the tension was truly palpable.

She started to cry after seeing blood in her hands.

"It's okay… Hina… everything is over…" I gently whispered , trying to calm her down.

Hina looked at me after my words and as soon as she saw me, she immediately ran towards me.

I was still stunned about what my eyes were seeing, and I was still tied up , but luckily , after a lot of struggles, I managed to free my feet, but not my hands.

After getting closer to me and with still tears in her eyes, Hina knelt down, her hands trembling as she untied the ropes that bound me.

"Kai, are you okay?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

I nodded, too shaken to speak.

My heart was still pounding, and I could feel the bruises forming where the men had grabbed me.

Hina helped me to my feet, her touch gentle.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner," she said softly, her eyes filled with guilt.

"I could never imagine that… someone might come to hurt you like this…. I'm so sorry, Kai… they hurt you…" she said while sobbing and clinging to me.

"It's not your fault," I managed to say, my voice hoarse.

"You saved me, Hina. I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come."

Hina's expression hardened.

"This isn't over, Kai. Whoever sent those men won't stop. We need to be careful."

"I'm so lucky that you're alive, Kai…" she said while burying her head into my chest and hugging me tightly.

I was almost witnessing a murder in real time just before my eyes , and with that event, I had the confirmation that Hina was no ordinary girl.

She was really about to kill those two…

But I didn't want to think about that.

I had to pretend like I didn't notice her change of personality.

This would've only made her suspicious.

"I didn't know what I would've done if… something happened to you, Kai…" she said while still hugging me tightly.

I gently hugged her back and caressed her head in a very gentle way.

"It's okay… I'm fine now…" I said to her.

"Should we call the police?" I then asked.

"No… trust me.., calling the police would make the situation even more dangerous…" she said, while raising up her head.

"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion.

"There are too many things to say, Kai… but that's not the moment… and you're innocente and pure. I want you to remain like that and i only want you to love me… that's all I ask. I promise that I'll protect you forever." Hina replied, while giving me a kiss on my lips.

I had to accept her answer, not asking any further question.

There was something very dangerous lurking in the shadows…
