Ch - 62 Gone?

Swayam, who was trying to recall any information about this particular episode, snapped out of his hyper-focused state when he heard Caitlin's voice. She was informing the team about an incident at the Petersburg grid, which was experiencing a rapid power drain.

Just as Barry was speculating about the possibility of a metahuman capable of controlling electricity, the news about the Petersburg grid came in. He immediately suspected it was connected and, just as usual, without waiting for anyone to say anything, sped out of S.T.A.R. Labs using his super-speed.

Harrison Wells, who was about to caution Barry, saw that he had already left. Turning to Swayam, who was suiting up, Wells said, "Sam, look after Barry and stop him from doing anything stupid. His super-speed has gone to his head, making him believe he can handle every situation with it. Please knock some sense into him, would you?"

After donning his super suit, Swayam stood in front of everyone. Caitlin had a subtle look of admiration in her eyes, but since Swayam was focused on Harrison Wells, he didn't notice. He simply replied, "I'll see what I can do," before rushing out of S.T.A.R. Labs.

While Swayam was en route to the Petersburg grid, Cisco contacted him, reporting that something was happening with Barry's body—his vitals were behaving abnormally. Cisco urged Swayam to reach Barry as quickly as possible and see what was wrong.

When Swayam arrived at Barry's location, he found him stumbling and barely able to walk. Rushing to his side, Swayam offered his shoulder for support and asked, "Are you alright? What happened?"

Barry, struggling to breathe, replied, "I can't run. My speed is gone."

Hearing this, Swayam's vague memories of the first instance when Barry temporarily lost his speed became clearer. Seeing Barry's dejection, Swayam tried to reassure him, saying that the loss of speed must be temporary and that he would regain it. He then carried Barry back to S.T.A.R. Labs, where Barry explained what had happened at the Petersburg grid.

Upon hearing Barry's account, Eobard Thawne, disguised as Harrison Wells, was internally furious. To him, Barry's speed was the key to returning to his own time period. But he couldn't openly express his anger, as Barry, despite his mistake, couldn't be blamed for not knowing that his opponent could steal his speed.

After everyone was made aware of Barry's situation, they decided to confirm it. They instructed Barry to run on Cisco's modified treadmill, and as Barry had mentioned, he no longer had his speed. Cisco even remarked that Barry was slower than a normal person.

As Barry tired from running on the treadmill and stepped down, Caitlin, still in disbelief that Barry could lose his speed, said, "You can't just lose your powers, okay? Your DNA was transformed by the particle accelerator blast. There's no way to untransform DNA."

In response, Barry sarcastically replied, "Yeah? Tell that to Sam, who had to carry me all the way here." He directed Caitlin's gaze toward Swayam, who was silently observing.

No one could argue with Barry on that point. They had seen Swayam carrying him to S.T.A.R. Labs. Caitlin's disbelief wasn't a matter of mistrust in Barry but rather a momentary shock.

Eobard Thawne, more knowledgeable about Barry's abilities than anyone else, was also perplexed about how someone could steal Barry's speed. He speculated, "So we were wrong. This metahuman doesn't electrocute; he siphons electricity, thereby removing your power."

Swayam, who had been silent until now, spoke up after hearing what Harrison Wells said. "If that's the case, we can't confront him directly. He could just siphon our bioelectricity, rendering us incapable of even moving."

Despite losing his powers, Barry still held on to his sense of justice. He couldn't let the metahuman roam free. He responded to Swayam, "We can't let him do as he pleases, Sam. We have to stop him. But if he can steal my power, we can't risk him doing the same to you. I agree we shouldn't confront him directly." Turning to Harrison Wells, Barry asked, "Do we think this is temporary or...?" He trailed off, but everyone knew what he meant.

Harrison Wells, sensing Barry's anxiety, couldn't give him a definite answer. All he could offer was that they needed to run some tests.

Not receiving a clear answer from the great mind of his idol, Barry felt dejected. However, his concern for his adoptive father, Joe, and the CCPD officers working on the charred corpse case outweighed his own disappointment. Putting aside his dejection, he informed the team that he needed to warn Joe.

As Barry started walking toward the exit, Harrison Wells stopped him and promised that they would find a way to restore his speed. Although Barry wasn't certain how they would do it, he trusted Wells' promise and nodded before leaving S.T.A.R. Labs.
