Stevens pov

Kendall called us and we rushed to see what happened. Matteo had a very high fever and we had to rush him to the hospital, we asked uncle to say behind as it won't be very much convenient for him.

As joseph and I waited in the corridors of the doctors office, I heard a voice that sounded very familiar called me from behind.

" Oh who is it am seeing, Steven is that you" the voice asked with surprise and I turned to see who it was. The least person I expected to see, Mandy Anderson.

" Is it my eyes or is it really Mandy am seeing" I asked surprised myself.

" Ofcourse it's me, don't say you haven't recognized me, I'd be very hurt" she said, am surprised, now she sound calm, gentle and sweet unlike her old self who loved bossing around.

" Ofcourse I recognize you, your face is still recognizable but you sound like a totally different person" I replied.

"Ofcourse am now a different person all thanks to you and Ruby" she said with a smile.

" That's really amazing, but how exactly did we help you change, would you like to elaborate because after you left the company the other day, there wasn't any news of you again" I said clearly remembering how mad she was that day after Aria exposed her in the board of directors meeting.

" It's a long story and I don't think it's convenient we talk here, if you don't mind, can we meet and talk later if you are done with what brings you here" she said.

I wanted to reject but I couldn't, she was now a changed person and I can't hold grudges against her for what she did in the past.

" Okay not a prob, where do we meet then" I asked.

" Waterfall restaurant" she replied, she opened her handbag and checked for something before handing me a card, " here, I know you don't have my contact so whenever you are free and ready to talk call me, and please great ruby for me, bye" she said and walked off.

I looked at the card before placing it in my inner pocket. " Who is she?" Joseph asked.

" And old colleague" I answered casually. He didn't say anything again, and neither did I. We stayed outside for another 10 mins before Kendall came out clutching Matteo.

" What's wrong honey, what happened, how is Matteo and what did the doctor say" Joseph asked like the caring husband and dad he is.

" The doctor ran some tests on him, for now she had prescribed some medicines for him, but if his condition doesn't improve in two weeks we would have to perform an operation on him" Kendall said with a broken absent minded tone.

" Well, let's hope he gets better soon, am sure with you there is nothing to worry about, you are the best mother Matteo could have asked for" Joseph said trying to comfort Kendall.

" What if our baby doesn't make it?" She asked with tears .

" Don't worry, am sure he would make it" Joseph said and pulled Kendall for a hug.

We went to the pharmacy and collected the medicines before going back home.

I went to my room, took a bath and headed for the office. Prepartions where on full swing and the work was quite tedious.

By the time I closed it was already 7:58am . As I drove my way back home I remembered I should probably call Mandy.

I called her, after two rings she answered. " Hello Mandy, Steven here" I said.

"Oh Steven, how are you, didn't expect you'd call" she replied.

" Am near waterfall restaurant, can you make it today" I asked.

" Sure, it's close to my house, I would be there in 20 mins" she replied.

" Okay then, I would be waiting for you" I said and she cut the call. I took a U-turn towards waterfall restaurant. Usually tables were per reservation, but with my identity I managed to get a VIP table by the window seat.

Less than 10 mins Mandy walked in and the waiter guided her to our table, she looked simple, before she used to outdo herself even to come to the office, but not this time.

She wore denim jeans and a blue t-shirt and tied her hair back. No makeup, just her natural look.

She took a sit and smiled at me, and I asked the waiter to serve us food.

" So how has your life been for thr past couple years" I asked.

" Well nothing much really. After I was suspended from the company, my anger issues rosed to it's peak and my brother got me therapy. I went into therapy for two years and treated the underlying issues that trigger me. After that brother thought I should rejoin the company as a new person but I couldn't, I had done a lot of bad stuff and I don't think everyone would accept me or my change whole heartedly so I decided to build myself.

I first started of a a volunteer in charity organizations, and later on I founded my own charity foundation, I also built a hospital and school for children to help those weak parents who can't cope with their childrens expensive treatments and schooling.

When you saw me today at the hospital, I came to pay a visit to one of the kids who underwent kidney transplant. So look at me today, am a better person than I was and I am glad I changed for the best.

What about you, and how is ruby, I saw the news recently and it so happened that she is the owner of the new company, Lena techs, and also her real identity is actually Aria Thayer. I was surprised to see the news honestly" she said taking a sip of her juice.

She indeed look like a changed person and even I am glad she actually changed.

" Well nothing much actually, you know just the life of a boy. As for Ruby, yes her real identity is Aria" I said not giving out too much information just confirming what she saw.

" That's good, so are you now a couple, and as far as I can remember she was pregnant, how is her child now" she inquired.

The topic everyone is curious about, our relationship. " No, we are not a couple, and for her child, she gave birth to a babygirl, Selena" I answered.

Mandy just answered with an oh, and changed the topic. We had a nice chat and talked about a lot of things, she also apologized for her behavior back then and I told her it wasn't a problem, she asked if we could be friends and I agreed and we decided to meet whenever we weren't busy and catch up.

It was very pleasing to see this Mandy.....
