Arias pov

The Dontons house was kinda suffocating for me, and I don't think even Selena is happy there. Mrs donton literally said she wants to see her family happy and complete and see her grandchild, but this woman has no time to spare for her, yeah sometimes, but no as much as grandparents usually do.

And George, something is off with that guy, he is too sweet to me, it looks fake. It's okay to try win someone over but his approach seems very superficial to me. I still try to give him a chance, but what irks me most is how uncaring he is to Selena. Steven loved Selena so very much and goes out of his way to make her happy even if it's against my wish.

And as for George, even thou he is her biological father he can't do that for her, maybe he is also trying to get used to her, but you should atleast try to win a child over. He says she is a future heiress to a large fortune so she needs to be kept at distance and allowed to grow on her own so that she can face anything in the future.

But that wasn't the kind of childhood I was given or I want for my daughter, I want her childhood to be filled with love, happiness and laughter so that in the future she can look back upon those times and smile. This days am caught up with work and hardly stay at the Dontons, there is a new project coming up in Lena techs, the release of the brand new phone, and we have to finalise it's features and functions so it's taking a big chunk of my time.

Steven as always hasn't changed, he inquires about Selena's and my wellbeing, and he sends chocolates for her. Kendall still angry with me hardly talks to me, and dad, well we talk but he is regaining his social life with old friends and all so he is also quite busy at times.

As for George, he brings me flowers, cards, breakfast in bed, surprise lunch dates, and all, it's all good but too much for me. And the way he keeps acting suspicious, always hiding his phone, not like I care about it, and the way he idles around even thou he has a company to run is too suspicious.

It's not like you have to be at work 24/7, always have files and documents always buried in work, that isn't what it is to handle a company. But George, he barely has any file, barely ever goes to his company, I don't even know what he does with his life. And it's suspicious to say he is single, or has been single all these years.

I hope am overthinking, it's been just a week and I shouldn't be jumping to conclusions. But recently Selena seems different unlike her usually self, she seems scared of something I don't know. One day I saw her hiding in a corner crying and when I asked her what the matter is she said its nothing. God what is happening to my daughter after coming to this house.

She never hides anything from me ever in her life even if she does something bad, she tends to be absent minded most of the time. I decided to have a word with her, she wasn't a weak child that can be bullied in school and would just suck in the corner, so what is the problem with her, maybe she doesn't like this house, qnd if she doesn't we are leaving right away.

As soon as I opened the door to her room she jumped and dropped the glass of water in her hand. " Oh mommah it's you" she said with relief when she saw me.

" Yes sweetie it's me, what are you doing" I asked her. " Am studying, I have a maths test tomorrow" she replied.

" Very good, come mommah would teach you and after that we would play games and have a chat, what say" I asked, normally she would jump in excitement but this time she just answered with an " okay mommah".

I sat down with her and helped her studying, she could do basic maths but had problem with pythogras theorem, division and algorithm, I took my time to explain it to her and break it down for her into smaller pieces so that she would understand better.

After that we played robix cubes, cards and nd video games and she looked really happy, I read her stories of Cinderella and Rapunzel and she suddenly asked.

" Mommah, does every princess needs a prince to save her" well that's what we all believed as kids. Every princess had a prince charming to save her from her evil family or evil witch.

" My dear, thats not true at all. It's true to some extent but not all, a princess is very well capable of fighting her own battles on her own, she can face everything bravely and win, and then she becomes a queen of her own kingdom, after she becomes a queen, the right king will come and find her, and they can rule happily ever after. But not all princess should have princes, sometimes a princess needs a night in shiny armour".

" And sometimes all it takes is to look for your own happiness, then you would find someone that would cheirsh your smile and go to lengths to keep you happy" I explained, she was 6, so she understood as much as her brain could which is the most important thing.

" Sweetheart, mommah wants to ask you something, would you answer me" I asked. It was the time to ask the big question.

" Yes mommah, Selena would answer you" she replied.

" Do you like it here, do you like your new home and family, are you happy staying here" I asked her. I noticed the dear that striked her face, and how her hands kept fidgeting with the end of her dress, she forced a smile.

" Yes mommah, I love it, I love my new home alot. Its so much better, and I love daddy and grandma also, they are very nice to me, I like everything mommah" she said trying her best to sound happy but I know she isn't. I gave birth to her after all, I knew everything about her, every smile, every cry, every anger, I know it all and she can't hide it from me.

But something is definitely wrong here, Selena isn't someone to lie about what she doesn't like, she says her mind with no fear so why exactly is she lying, her face says it clearly that she is not happy here. Is someone threatening my daughter, I need to keep an eye on everything and see what's happening.
