Chapter 51: The Ship Is Going to Capsize!
Charlotte checked the catalog of Devil Fruits and discovered that this was the Book Fruit, a Paramecia type. He remembered that this fruit belonged to one of Big Mom's children, but now it was unexpectedly in his hands.
On second thought, it wasn't strange. Big Mom's crew had formed recently, and her children were still few and young. It wasn't appropriate to call her Big Mom yet; rather, her correct name was Charlotte Linlin. At this moment, her figure was still slender, and she was a very attractive woman, nothing like the fat woman she would become later.
However, her history of having children like crazy was a bit scary. Being Charlotte Linlin's husband couldn't be easy.
This Devil Fruit was quite special, with curious abilities, like something out of a fairy tale. Charlotte narrowed his eyes; he already had the right person for this fruit: Mitis.
"Captain, we have problems!" A subordinate came running in, shouting urgently.
"What problems? I'm fine," Charlotte replied, annoyed.
"No… it's not that… the navigator has discovered that a huge storm is approaching."
Charlotte could no longer stay calm.
Going out to sea and encountering terrifying weather, especially in the New World, was the worst. It wasn't like Luffy, who got excited at the danger of extreme weather.
"Damn it, the ship is going to capsize!" Charlotte shouted from the bow, with a grim face as the sea began to churn violently.
The sailors struggled desperately to control the sails. He couldn't believe his bad luck: they had encountered a marine storm in the middle of the ocean.
It seemed like fate was intent on playing tricks on him. He didn't want to go to sea, but he was forced to. He didn't want to be a pirate, but he ended up being one. It seemed like the universe was against him.
The sea began to churn more, and huge waves rose menacingly towards the Hiberfield ship. Everyone looked with terror at the ocean, which had been calm just a moment ago.
"Damn it!" Charlotte was desperate. If they didn't escape now, the ship could sink.
"Quick, change course and get out of here!" Charlotte ordered.
His subordinates, though scared, found a source of strength in him and began to maneuver the ship with more determination. Charlotte remained alert, with one hand on the hilt of his sword Shigure, ready to face any imminent danger.
Facing nature was almost impossible. The power of a storm could crush anything.
While Charlotte was on guard, the sea began to churn violently and huge waves rose in the distance, making the ship rock dangerously.
Although it was only the impact of the storm, its power was overwhelming. Charlotte and his crew couldn't just give up.
"Quick! Quick! Quick! Full speed ahead!" Charlotte shouted firmly.
He activated his Observation Haki, sharpening his senses, trying to find a safe route through the waves.
"Turn to port!" he ordered.
The crew obeyed immediately, adjusting the ship's course.
Thanks to Charlotte's precise instructions, they managed to dodge the most dangerous waves, which filled everyone with hope.
"Brothers! Quick, ahead!" Beta shouted, steering the helm firmly.
Charlotte, steady as a rock at the bow, used all his senses to find a safe route. The waves battered the ship, creating an explosion of white foam.
As they advanced, they found a calmer area.
"Quick!" urged Charlotte.
He knew he couldn't maintain his concentration for long; Observation Haki consumed a lot of energy.
Beta, at the helm, followed Charlotte's directions without hesitation.
Finally, after a long and tense effort, they managed to pass through the dangerous area. Everyone felt incredible relief to see the sea calm down.
"Phew! I thought we were going to die!" one of the sailors shouted.
"What luck! What luck!" others said, hugging and crying with relief.
Even Charlotte let out a sigh of relief. It had been terrifying.
They had been lucky to be on the edge of the storm. If they had been in the center, the result would have been catastrophic.
The sea was truly dangerous. Damn Golden Lion Shiki, thought Charlotte.
Fortunately, Beta had followed his orders without hesitation, proving to be a valuable crew member. Although usually carefree, Beta was someone you could rely on in critical moments.
Though they had left the most dangerous area behind, the Hiberfield continued to move away from the stormy region.
It was rare to encounter such a huge storm, even in the New World.
Though they had escaped the most dangerous waves, Charlotte was still worried about the dark sky.
Suddenly, a black cloud stirred violently, and a ship's bow pierced through the clouds, falling towards them.
"What the hell?" Charlotte was shocked to see a ship falling from the sky.
Everyone was stunned. The scene was unforgettable.
The storm had been truly terrifying, capable of lifting a ship into the sky.
Charlotte drew his sword Shigure and swung it towards the falling ship.
"One Sword Style, Lightning Strike!" he shouted.
A dragon of golden lightning emerged from his sword, heading towards the ship.
Everyone watched Charlotte, understanding his plan.
The lightning cut through the sky, slicing the ship into pieces that fell into the sea.
The power of his strike left a deep gouge in the clouds, like the eye of a god, stunning.
Everyone was left open-mouthed. It had been an amazing strike.
"Impressive!" Charlotte murmured, surprised by the storm's power.
The power of Logia-type Devil Fruits was truly astounding.
