Ilomina's words faltered, her face draining of color as she looked in Ilkar's direction. Eiravyne turned to see what had caused such fear, but the look on Ilkar's face was something she had never seen before—cold, furious, and utterly commanding. Ilomina recoiled, seeking protection behind Karl.

Eiravyne froze, her heart pounding as she faced Ilkar. His voice, harsh and unyielding, shattered the tense silence.

"Eira, go back to your room!" he practically shouted, his eyes still locked on Ilomina. Then, turning his furious gaze to his sister, he added, "Say one more word, Ilomina…"

Karl stepped forward, his voice calm but firm. "You too, Ilkar… just leave. I've made sure Urag is heavily sedated. I treated his wound, but he's asleep now. I'll make sure he talks when he wakes."

Ilkar glared at Karl, his anger still simmering beneath the surface. "I'll give you till morning," he said, his voice low and menacing.
