The short, bald man led Penny to a small private room where she sat alone. The room was small, with a wide table and long, curved seats, separated by partitions. Penny glanced at the door, wondering if someone would come in. However, she soon realized that wasn't how this place operated.
"Quite bold for a woman to come here alone," a voice spoke from behind her, resonating in the small room.
Glancing over her shoulder, she saw why the seats had partitions and why the space was so confined. She didn't dwell on it and turned her attention forward.
"I want to know about Patricia Miller," she said directly. "Can you do that?"
"You want to know her affiliation with the Pierson family?"
Penny raised a brow, the corner of her mouth lifting slightly. "You do know a lot."
