Ch 164: Fun in car

'Everyone is staring at us. I don't want to look up and show my face now.'

As they passed through the lobby, Rika buried her face into Damian's shoulder. She could feel people looking their way and judging her.

The air was thick with tension, Damian's warning growl causing a palpable shift as everyone diverted their eyes from him and Emily.

Thankfully, both of them were dressed in clothes that hid their identity. But it was easy to tell that they were not kidnapping Rika but taking her home with them.

The pheromones in the air did all the talking, causing the passer-by not to ask stupid questions.

At least once, they reached the front desk where the beta receptionist was.

Watching Emily tear the rude and noisy receptionist a new one was a sight. By the end of Emily's grilling, the beta looked like she was about to burst into tears.

Damian seemed uninterested in all this, and his laboured breath let Rika know where his attention was.
