That was the end of the conversation. Rika did not expect anything else to be said.

After all, she had shown Andrew the truth about his emotions and instincts and was sure she would be left alone.

She was supposed to be left alone after that, but Andrew disagreed with her decision.

"This is not right! I cannot accept such a thing. I might have lost myself to those instincts back then, but I do not doubt that I still like you. Please, give me a chase-"

"I am afraid I cannot do that. You see, I am not in a place where I can afford to get hurt. If I break, I cannot pick up the pieces. So, if that is all, I shall excuse myself now."

Rika was mentally strong but had a breaking point she refused to reach.

Call her a coward all you want, but it was wise for her to back away before she got invested.
