Ch 39: Danger!!!

Emily's smile faded away slowly, and she looked slightly angry at being asked this question.

She respected Miss Goodwill as an alpha and as a business partner. But she held little respect for her as a mother.

As the question hung in the air, Emily felt her respect for Miss Goodwill, already on a fragile thread, begin to unravel. Like a knife, the sharpness of the question severed the last of it, leaving Emily with a bitter mix of disappointment and anger.

"Don't take it the wrong way, Emily. It's just that…my youngest likes you and Damian. And no matter how much you like Damian, you need an omega in your relationship."

"Isn't Suzie perfect for you both? She is sweet, caring, and lovely. Most importantly, she is part of Rika's family. You will still be close to Rika, but this way, you will be family with her. What do you say?"

The older alpha pushed Emily, which was her final straw.
