Chapter 24 - Six Eyes

(Nero POV)

My consciousness returned, and I slowly opened my eyes. My vision was a little blurry.

I raised my hands and rubbed my eyes.

Little by little, my vision cleared, and my mind regained clarity.

I quickly sat up, looking for Altair.

No matter which way I looked, I only saw the city constantly on fire, with no trace of Altair.

Where is she?!

I noticed something strange.

I was seeing with my left eye.

Not only seeing, but it was as if I had a high-definition camera in my eyes, and my perception was extremely amplified.

What?

I brought my hand to my left eye. Just by touching it, I could tell it was fine.

Not only my eye but also my left hand, which had damaged nerves.

Now it was in perfect condition. Furthermore, my body was great, with hardly any cuts, and even my clothes were in perfect condition.

What the hell happened?!

I screamed internally, sitting on the floor.

The only possibility that came to mind was that my blow didn't kill Altair, and she had cured me with that Third Movement of the Cosmos.

Maybe that skill saved her from death, and she used it to heal me.

And honestly, I would prefer that to be what happened, since I didn't want to kill a possible friend of my mother's.

Although in the state, I was in during that fight, it didn't matter to me at all.

I can remember a few flashes of that delusional state I was in.

When I remembered how I referred to her, shame took over.

"Big sister."

Honestly, I couldn't have referred to her any other way.

But for some reason, it felt familiar to call her that.

Even though I'm pretty sure I've never seen that woman in my life, I still have the feeling that she's familiar.

Having these types of thoughts sucks.

But for now, let's focus on the important things, like the change in my eyes and the new skill I developed with my epiphany.

The first noticeable change was in my eyes. I could easily see things several miles away and make them out clearly, and my field of vision seemed amplified.

These were the immediate changes I noticed, but there should definitely be more.

This brings me to another question.

How did this happen?

I have a theory: my quirk probably forced my eyes to evolve to adapt to themselves, just like my brain. Maybe the eyes were necessary to better utilize my quirk, or maybe my quirk evolved or semi-evolved.

I let out a sigh, scratching my head, realizing there was no point in overthinking.

But I still needed to name these eyes.

Why?

Well, it's fun.

Hmm… what should I call them?

It needs to be something symbolic, not just a name.

My mother loved to incorporate mythology into everything she named, especially Greco-Roman mythology.

I like that too.

But I can't think of anything very good.

My mother was good at this; my father said it didn't take her a minute to decide my name.

Interestingly, my name should be longer.

My mother wanted to call me Nero Caesar...

At that moment, I had an epiphany.

The name and title of Emperor Nero Caesar are the numerical equivalent of the number 666, the number of the beast.

So, this gives me a beautiful name for my eyes, which is…

"Six Eyes."

I said happily, praising myself for my completely unhinged intelligence.

Although I only dropped two 6's for the name of my eyes, I still couldn't help but be proud of myself.

Now let's move on to the main dish, also known as the [Hollow Purple].

Purple is born from the fusion of both Blue and Red, generating an imaginary mass that, instead of the attraction of Blue or the repulsion of Red, creates an extraordinarily destructive explosion of imaginary mass capable of destroying everything in its path.

Proof of this is the destruction in front of me.

Lifting my gaze, I saw a large trail of destruction.

Even after the purple hit Altair, it continued, leaving only destruction.

It will probably continue until it falls apart.

Do not misunderstand me; although I can use purple, this is most likely not the limit of its potential.

I squeezed my hand tightly.

The truth is that in this battle, I was humiliated.

To have a chance of winning, I had to overload my brain by going into a state of delirium; as a result, I was supposed to experience several after-effects. One of them would be my left eye, which would be impossible to heal.

Altair is certainly still alive. Our next confrontation will be different; that, I can promise.

Suddenly, an explosion pulled me out of my thoughts.

My eyes quickly turned to the side, seeing smoke coming from a building within the dome.

Hmm! I don't think it's time to rest.

I thought, turning towards the building, only to see a girl being thrown through a window, falling from inside the building.

My eyes could see perfectly, even though I was several meters away.

Without hesitation, I used [Mercury] to teleport to the building, next to the girl who was falling.

Without thinking twice, I moved quickly, running my hand along her back and legs, catching her.

My golden eyes met her teal eyes.

The beautiful owner of this pair of eyes was Michiru Kagemori, the Tanuki girl.

"President-san," Kagemori said in amazement.

"Hello, Kagemori-san," I said with a smile as my hand held her legs and the other was unfortunately (or fortunately) close to touching her breasts.

She seemed to have a glazed look in her eyes as she looked into my golden eyes, but upon realizing this, her face, which had dark brown fur, turned slightly red as she coughed to dispel her embarrassment.

"What happened to your eyes…"

Before she can finish asking her question, a guy sticks his head out through the big hole in the building.

The man was bald and had two missile launchers on his shoulders. I'll call him "Missile Guy."

"I think I killed her, bro," Missile Guy said, looking out the window.

"I don't think so, bro," I said with a smile.

Hearing my voice, Missile Guy looks down.

"Who are you?"

Without saying anything, I just smile, and he disappears from his field of vision.

"Where is he?" Missile Guy exclaimed, looking around but not looking up.

Inside the room, I looked down and saw five guys, or rather, five villains.

Thanks to my eyes, I had a higher perception of space. But now I realize that the "Six Eyes" gave me immense brain processing power, allowing me to precisely manipulate my powers.

With this thought, I opened my mouth:

"Have you ever thought about looking up?" I exclaimed, raising my hand, wearing the blue one.

"Such that…"

Before he could finish speaking, an attractive force caught the five villains. Their bodies were drawn into the middle of the room, colliding with brute force into each other.

The sound of their heads colliding echoed throughout the room, and the five villains fainted.

The level of attractive pressure was perfectly calibrated, so they only passed out and didn't suffer cerebral hemorrhages from the collision.

"Well, it looks like it was their nap time." With that, I descended to the ground.

"You're really not the type to stay silent," Kagemori smiled, getting out of my arms and jumping to the ground perfectly, revealing her hero costume.

She wore a baggy gray tank top, a black t-shirt underneath, navy dolphin shorts with light green details with her beautiful tail coming out of the shorts, a red sports jacket with white details and an unfolded collar, and white sneakers with red soles.

It looks like she and I are on the simple hero costume team.

I thought, opening my mouth.

"But then what would be the fun, Kagemori-san?" With my words, my feet touched the ground.

"Just call me Michiru," she said, waving her hands energetically, not paying much attention to Japanese formality.

"Of course, Michiru," I said with a smile. "By the way, how did you end up here?" I asked, a little confused about this fact.

"Well, after you disappeared, a man's body appeared between us; his body expanded, and suddenly I was here. We were probably all teleported." Michiru placed her hand on her waist while explaining.

I understand! So that guy actually has a space quirk of the Emitter type.

Quirks are divided into three types: Emitter, Transformation, and Mutant.

Emitter-type quirks are abilities that allow the user to generate and possibly control certain things or alter existing things around them in certain ways.

Transformation-type quirks are abilities that cause the user to undergo some type of temporary change, allowing users to temporarily "morph" their bodies in various ways, sometimes enhancing existing features, removing features, or adding new features to their bodies.

Mutant-type quirks are abilities that cause the user a permanent "abnormality" directly related to their power. This type of quirk greatly alters the user's body, giving them the ability to channel certain aspects of their quirk through them in a similar way to Emitter-type Quirks.

Unfortunately, people with Mutant-type quirks are often discriminated against, even by other quirk users, due to their external appearance. It's okay that someone can destroy a building with one punch, but if you look like a cute frog, for some people, that's unacceptable. It is a truly regrettable problem.

Going back to that guy who teleported my classmates, he must have an Emitter-type quirk just like mine.

However, this is not important now; right now, two things are much more important to me.

"And Ochaco and Gwen, what happened to them?" I asked the most essential question.

I swear if these two get hurt, I will show these villains hell without caring one bit about getting blood on my hands.

Suddenly, two soft hands were placed on my cheeks.

"That expression doesn't suit you," Michiru said, giving a gentle smile as I felt her soft hands on my cheeks. "I don't know if they were teleported, but don't worry; in the same way that they trust you unconditionally, you should trust them."

Upon hearing this, my face returned to normal. After all, she was right; since those two girls trust me with all their hearts, I must also give that trust back to them. Although, I can't help but be worried.

"Thank you, my lady," I said with a smile.

"Now that's our president." She removed her hands from my face with some reluctance.

Naturally, I raised my hand and placed it on her head. Her ears pricked up.

"What are you doing?!" she exclaimed in surprise but didn't move my hand away.

"I just thought you were really cute," I said honestly, running my hand through her soft hair, brushing against those cute ears.

"W-what?!" she stammered, her tone a mix of embarrassment and shyness. Michiru shook her head, trying to dispel her emotions. "Doesn't the President have a girlfriend?" she asked with a stern expression, though her tail wagged from side to side.

"Yes, but what does that have to do with it?" I asked, tilting my head in confusion.

"Is this serious?!" she asked incredulously.

"Yes?!" I replied, still confused.

She moved her hand to slap her own face. "The worst of all is that I feel sincerity in your words. Your girlfriend needs to talk some sense into you," she said, poking my forehead while her tail wagged happily as I continued stroking her head.

...

"Honestly, I don't understand, but…" I said with a smile, slipping my hand to her waist, making her let out a slight moan. With the other hand, I lifted her legs and took her in my arms. "Now let's beat up some bad guys; after all, I'm the president."

"L-let me go," she said, a beautiful contrast of her brown fur and her blushing face. She moved her arm around my neck for support.

"Hahaha! Come on, my lady." With those words, I used [Mercury], and we instantly disappeared from that place.

(A / N: A bit of a late question: Do you all prefer Red Reversal and Blue Lapse, or Reversal Red and Lapse Blue? Or does it not matter? By the way, I changed [Purple Hollow] to [Hollow Purple] because really it sounds better.)
