The resuming show

As weird as it was, things got back to normal and the show resumed as if nothing had happened as soon as the staff deemed it safe.

If anything, the whole thing made Mia far more awake than before merely from the shock alone.

Still, the whole thing went on as if nothing had happened, even if the spectators and skaters were still a bit reluctant about the whole situation.

Mia watched the rest of the show and eventually calmed down as things gradually looked more and more normal.

When Yuzuru's turn finally came some time after and by then everyone was already too into the performance to even remember what happened a few moments before.

The performance he did solo was the same as they had watched during the rehearsal earlier but the whole thing was slightly different since Yuzuru was now truly performing, making the whole thing even more intense.

Mia couldn't help but feel completely drawn to him and his every movement.

Not that this was any different from any interaction they had. It was just that she couldn't do that much about it given that they were in a very public place.

He finished with the split, just like before and it was still as crazy as she had seen in the rehearsal, completely unhinged.

After his performance, the rest of the show got by incredibly quickly. The sheer fabric of his costume was black and from the distance, his body wasn't all that visible. Mia was both thankful and disappointed at that.

And just before she knew it, the show was finished and the skaters doing the last laps around the ice to say goodbye to everyone. The banners were unreal and mostly contained Yuzuru's name.

He waved at Mia and Alex with a big smile just as he did to everyone else and she was glad of this. He had become so unexpected that Mia almost feared her would do something more obvious and turn the attention of the crowd to them.

In the end, Yuzu did some kind of speech and screamed something that she recognized as "thank you" to the happiness of the hyped crowd.

Thankfully everything finished normally and in no time, a member of the staff was guiding them to the backstage again and into Yuzuru's dressing room as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

As if there weren't at least 5 skaters staring as they passed.

Of course, she was graced with his naked torso again when she entered his room. It seemed like Yuzuru was enjoying her crumble far too much, and it was always when she couldn't do anything about it.

"Hey!" He greeted them with excitement "Are you ok? It was a bit scary"

"Hey, yeah, it was scary at first, but I calmed down when I saw everyone calm as well.

"It was a bit intense 6.2, I think."

"I had never felt something like that."

"Perks of living in Canada."

"Exactly!"

"What about you, Alex?"

"Earthquake was scary."

Yuzuru could understand him better than most, with a particular earthquake being one of the most impactful experiences of his life but this wasn't the time to talk about that.

"And the rest of the show?"

"It was fun! Your hydroblade on the finale was so cool! And then the spin of the opening, it was so fast and centered with all of the position changes! How do you do that?" His excitement was definitely back on as he recalled his favorite moments of the show that Yuzuru seemed very happy to hear.

"Lots of practice, buddy. You will be just as good someday."

"You think so?"

"If you work hard, I'm sure!"

That looked like one of the biggest motivators for Alex. Mia didn't remember ever seeing him this excited about getting back on the ice. Even if he loved the sport already.

"Yuzu... Will you have dinner with us or...?"

"If you would like to. I have a few things to finish here, but I should be done in an hour or so?"

"We can wait, I just wanted to know..."

Yuzuru hugged her tight with his still shirtless body and kissed her cheek, noticing her uncertainty about all of this.

"I will gladly spend the night too if you allow me." He whispered in her ear.

"Sometimes I get this feeling you canceled your hotel room and are using mine as a replacement."

He faked being hurt by those words before answering.

"You were the one that said you slept better at my side."

"I didn't say it that directly"

"But you meant it."

"Maybe"

The silly smile graced his face once again and he pecked her lips.

"Ew" they heard from Alex who was watching the interaction.

Yuzuru started laughing like a madman and went to the boy, starting to tickle him teasingly.

"Why Ew?"

"You kissing..."

"You have seen it before and didn't complain." Yuzuru teased him.

"You're doing it a lot now!"

"Because your mother is very beautiful."

"Yuzu..." She warned him. There were certain conversations that she wasn't ready to have with her 8-year-old child.

"And you like her?" Alex asked the other man with a curious gaze.

"I like her a lot..."

"She likes you too."

"Alex!"

Mia was as red as a tomato, her son was making her furious.

"You think so?" Yuzuru kept teasing, loving both her reaction and the way Alex trusted him enough to let him know.

"She told me."

"Ok, that's enough, let's go."
