Chapter 177: Ouroboros Expresses Doubt

After shaking himself out of his distracted thoughts, Lynn looked at Adam and asked, "When do we start the treatment?"

"We can start the initial treatment now," Adam replied, his gaze shifting to Medici. He continued, "However, you should be prepared. Medici's condition isn't great. To ensure effective and safe treatment, I'll use gentle methods to repair his spirit and organize his mind. This will be a long process, not something that can be completed in one go."

Are you sure it's because you can't finish it in one go and not just extending the treatment period on purpose to prevent us from breaking the deal?

Lynn thought to himself, then smiled at Adam and asked, "So, how long will the whole treatment process take?"

"Not too long, about three to four years," Adam said casually. He looked at the two and continued, "I plan to complete the treatment in seven to eight sessions, with each session best spaced six months apart."

Three to four years, huh? If this time flow were the same as the Fifth Epoch, three to four years would be enough for Klein to become a god… Lynn inwardly commented, then looked at Medici, signaling with his eyes to ask if this was reliable.

Having watched Adam grow up, Medici understood the Spectator pathway better than he did.

Medici looked at Adam deeply, then nodded slightly to Lynn.

Although it seemed likely that Adam was intentionally dragging out the time, he hadn't lied about the necessity of it.

"Alright, we'll go with your plan," Lynn said, not too bothered by the three to four years. For mythical beings, this time wasn't much. It wasn't like the Fifth Epoch, where every second counted before the Apocalypse.

He then asked, "Do we need a different environment for the treatment? This place doesn't seem very suitable."

"If you don't mind, you can come with me. I'll provide a suitable environment," Adam responded calmly.

Lynn and Medici exchanged glances, then Lynn nodded at Adam, "Let's go then!"

Although Lynn was suspicious that Adam might be leading them into a trap set by multiple true gods, the truth was that the Spectator pathway's King of Angels only took them to one of his residences. In a room resembling a psychological therapy office, he began the initial treatment on Medici.

Seeing Medici looking visibly calmer and less malicious and insane, Lynn breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "How do you feel?"

"Just barely acceptable. It seems someone hasn't disgraced their Sequence," Medici's tone remained sarcastic despite his somewhat approving words, making it sound like a backhanded compliment.

"I hypnotized the spirits of Sauron and Einhorn, who are coexisting with you. They'll remain in a state of slumber. Do you want to completely separate them or devour them during the next treatment?" Adam, unfazed by Medici's sarcasm, asked in a very professional manner.

"Separation is fine. I don't want to devour two old man; it would make me too nauseous to eat," Medici answered without hesitation, indicating he had thought about this before.

"Then you can prepare containers for them in advance," Adam said indifferently, not surprised by Medici's choice.

As Lynn listened to the doctor-patient exchange, he observed the therapy room they were in. After a few seconds, he asked, "Do you usually have other patients here?"

This room didn't look like it was rarely used.

"Amon occasionally comes here," Adam almost immediately revealed the secret of a certain unique Marauder. "He has too many clones and likes to do dangerous things. Sometimes, when his humanity is unstable, he needs me to sort out his mind and suppress the awakening consciousness of the Lord of Mysteries within him."

Hearing this, Lynn glanced at Adam, recalling the original ending where Adam helped Amon suppress the will of the Celestial Worthy and assisted Klein in competing for the Lord of Mysteries. He couldn't help but remark, "You really are the heroic—mother of study-abroad kids, always worrying yourself sick!"

Adam: ?

Adam was momentarily stunned, evidently not understanding where Lynn's sentiment came from.

"Heroic mother… Haha, that really suits you. You are like a mother duck to little raven," Medici laughed heartily, though his eyes flashed with a thoughtful look that he quickly suppressed.

"It seems you've seen a less than ideal future," Adam said, looking at Lynn. His expression remained unchanged, seemingly indifferent to Lynn's prophecy, which wasn't surprising since one couldn't expect a "robot" without emotions to be shocked.

"I think that future is quite good," Lynn said with a smile.

"Does time really matter to you?" Adam asked, looking at Lynn, catching him off guard.

Lynn thought deeply about Adam's question, then replied, "Time might not matter to me, but emotions do."

Traveling through different timelines and the time authority from his original form had indeed changed Lynn's perception of time. But as he said, while time might not matter, emotions did.

Lynn didn't care when his time traveling would end. He only cared about the people and events he encountered and the emotions he experienced during the process.

As long as enough people cared about him, remembered him, and gave him rich emotions, Lynn felt that even if he couldn't resist assimilation by his original form in the end, his life would have been worth it.

Adam showed a thoughtful expression.

Lynn, unconcerned with Adam's thoughts, looked at Medici and asked, "Do you want me to take you back to the Solomon Empire now?"

Ouroboros doubted if he was trapped in an illusion created by a Sequence 0. Otherwise, how could he see the fallen Medici in front of him with just a blink? Although Medici's aura had weakened and he had become a Evil Spirit, he was undeniably Medici.

Moreover, there was a presence beside Medici that felt both unfamiliar and familiar to Ouroboros.

"Yo, Ouroboros, long time no see! Are you painting?" The familiar yet unfamiliar presence greeted him cheerfully.

Ouroboros blinked, slowly responding, "Long time no see, Lynn."

"You've grown."
