Chapter Eighty Six

Ryan and Thorne exchanged a quick glance, their minds racing as they formulated a plan. Time was of the essence, and every second counted.

"We can't risk taking the carriage," Ryan said, his voice low. "It's too slow."

Thorne nodded, his face set in determination. "Horses it is," he replied.

They quickly mounted their horses, the animals eager to break free from their confinement. As they rode through the streets, Ryan couldn't shake the feeling that they were being followed. He glanced over his shoulder, but there was no sign of anyone suspicious.

"I think we're being followed," he said to Thorne, his voice barely a whisper.

Thorne nodded, his grip tightening on the reins. "We need to lose them," he replied.

Without warning, Ryan spurred his horse   into a gallop, the animal responding with a burst of speed. Thorne followed close behind, the two of them disappearing into the night.
