LUCY
At long last, after toxic-filled weeks and months full of uncertainty and drowned anxiety, I had regained my position where I rightfully belonged in Gabriel's life. I never imagined that his near death situation would benefit me like this. Never in my wildest dream have I thought that I was the one who would be granted more than anyone else, because of his mental condition now.
I didn't only secure a premiere position in Gabriel's life, I also extinguished my arch rival by a landslide. It was like hitting two birds in one stone. I never thought it would all be possible in just a single blow, which literally astonished me and swept me off my feet.
All the while, I was shaky when I discovered about Gabriel's selective amnesia, especially when I was also included with the lists of people whom he can't remember. It rattled me knowing that his father would most probably favor Angelou and not cling to my side but to hers.
