"Andy, let's hurry! The Divination classroom is at the top of the North Tower, and it's a ten-minute walk from here."
After the Transfiguration class, Hermione hurriedly dragged Andy towards the seventh floor of the castle. "We've never been to the North Tower before. I heard from Cho that we need to trigger a magical mechanism to get to the Divination classroom."
"Why don't we go to the Arithmancy classroom first?" Andy suggested.
"But I'm more interested in Divination! Especially Professor Trelawney, she's the most famous Divination master in the wizarding world," Hermione said enthusiastically.
After spending so much time with Andy, Hermione knew a lot of hidden information —for example, the prophecy about the saviour 12 years ago.
Trelawney made that prophecy!
Since learning about this, Hermione has become a little fan girl of Trelawney's, and she has been reading many books on Divination in this period of time.
At the start of this school year, Hermione bought a set of tarot cards and tried to tell Andy's fortune.
What's more, Hermione had personally witnessed the prophecy that Andy made.
In Hermione's words nowadays: "A witch who doesn't know how to do divination is not a qualified witch." In muggle lore, crystal balls and tarot cards are the standard equipment of a witch.
"She is indeed famous..."
Andy said with a sneer, "She is the most famous liar at Hogwarts, that's what a lot of people saying."
Hermione glared at Andy, "We've looked it up, it's the Apollo curse! The Trelawney family can make real predictions, but no one will believe them!"
During their idle chat, Andy and Hermione had already reached the seventh floor of the castle.
It was an unfamiliar platform with nothing on it, except for a painting hanging on the stone wall, depicting a grassland.
"I think we should go this way," Hermione said, looking at the right-hand passage.
"No, I have a feeling it's the left,"
Andy continued. "Come with me!"
It was a narrow spiral staircase, very steep with a wide turning bend. Climbing the last few steps, Andy and Hermione reached a small platform.
There was no door on the platform, so Hermione nudged Andy and pointed to the ceiling. There was a round trapdoor with a brass plaque.
It read: Sybill Trelawney, Professor of Divination.
Hermione raised an eyebrow and said, "How are we supposed to get there?"
As if in answer to Hermione's question, the trapdoor suddenly opened and a silver ladder extended to Hermione's feet.
"Let's go up!" Andy led the way into the classroom.
It was a very strange classroom, a mixture of a loft and an old-fashioned tearoom. There were at least twenty small round tables packed in the room, and there were a few armchairs around the tables.
The classroom curtains were drawn, and the wall lamps had crimson shades, filling the room with a scarlet light that was a little annoying.
"Andy, let's sit there!" Hermione pointed to a place by the window. She wanted to pull back the curtains, or at least leave a gap.
"OK!" Andy readily agreed.
"That's right!"
After taking their seats, Hermione asked curiously, "Andy, did you really have a hunch just now? I mean, feeling that the left aisle is the correct way to the classroom."
"Hmm..."
Andy hesitated and said, "To the right is South, and you can see a corner of Black Lake from outside the window."
"Okay!" The little witch decided not to talk to Andy for the time being.
"Welcome!" A voice suddenly came from the shadows, a soft, indistinct voice.
"Finally...it's good to see you in the tangible world!"
Professor Trelawney walked into the area illuminated by the firelight.
She looked very thin, her large glasses magnifying her eyes several times. She wore a shimmering shawl over her shoulders that looked like transparent muslin, and countless necklaces and jewels hung around her slender neck, while her wrists and fingers were covered in bracelets and rings.
"Hello, Professor Trelawney!"
The young witch stood up excitedly and said enthusiastically as if she met her idol, "I'm Hermione Granger, a third-year Ravenclaw student. Professor, I admire you very much, I think you are the greatest wizard of divination in this century."
Trelawney: "..."
Hermione's warm and enthusiastic words directly put Professor Trelawney in an awkward state.
Having been treated as a fraud for so many years, Professor Trelawney was used to being doubted. This was the first time in her life that she had met a fan of her own, a real one.
"Miss Granger, you are very spiritual."
Professor Trelawney was a veteran fraud and quickly adjusted her state of mind. "You are a clever witch, but you often suppress your inner self. I think you should let go a little, which will help release your inner spirituality."
"You're absolutely right, Professor," Hermione said, looking adoringly at her.
Andy: "..."
Hermione looked like the kind of girl who had little social experience and had been lacking in social beatings. How should I put it... Professor Trelawney's words could be applied to anyone.
"Professor, did you just say... the tangible world?"
Andy asked curiously. "What is that? Is there an intangible world?"
Professor Trelawney's words had hit Andy's G-spot directly.
The tangible world...
Andy knew a little about Professor Trelawney – he had asked many seniors who had signed up for the divination class and obtained first-hand information about Professor Trelawney from them.
To be fair, this person is pretty much perceived as a fraud.
However, in fact, apart from making real prophecies, the 'prophecies' casually uttered by Professor Trelawney in her daily life will also happen in the future in some kind of coincidence.
It's just that no one believes it!
For example:
Professor Trelawney 'predicted' that someone would leave us forever – this person doesn't necessarily have to be dead, he might just stop coming to divination class.
This is also a kind of leaving.
So Andy thinks that Professor Trelawney is somewhat capable!
Especially that sentence, 'the tangible world'.
Andy couldn't wait to hear more of that right now!
"My child..."
Professor Trelawney approached Andy shakily. She awkwardly reaches out to touch Andy's face, but then she seems to see something terrible and takes two sharp steps back.
"It's a terrible world... my child, don't try to go near it, or you'll be doomed!"
Andy: "..."
Do you think I would believe you?
To be fair, Andy also thought the world behind the curtain was very scary. Once the curtain was lifted, it was likely to trigger some unpredictable and terrible consequences.
But...
Trelawney really does seem like a fraud!
